  1. Kelly, I would HIGHLY recommend working with a travel agent. It is no cost to you and eliminates a lot of the headaches with your guests coming to you with questions. I seriously do not know what I would do without mine. I don't know how true this is but my agent said that websites such as travelocity and bookit do not check availability when people are booking and in the case of an overbooking the guests that went through those means to get a room are the first ones that have to be moved. Again I cannot speak from personal experience but I would hate for you to have to deal with that. However we are having about 80 guests and with a smaller number you may have no problems.   4. My fiancé and I stayed at the El Dorado Royale and The Royal in Playa over memorial day weekend. I really liked both places for different reasons but when it came down to choosing a place for my wedding I chose The Royal. We met both wedding coordinators and can tell you that the ones at The Royal won hands down. In just the short time we were communicating with someone at EDR we had 2 people leave or get fired. That really worried me. The Royal is beautiful and they are right next door to their sister resort Gran Porto Real which allows kids. Hope this helps! Andrea
  5. Those pics are beautiful Bonnie! Just contacted Sasha to get a price quote. It's great seeing your pics so my fiancé and I feel like we know what kind of end product we will get. Anyways has anyone ever been to Playa in late March? I PM'ed a April 1st bride but have not heard back. Wondering about the nights because our reception is on the beach and need to know if I should recommend light sweaters. Thanks! Andrea

  7. I have a few questions for some of you gals that have recently been married at The Royal. I have sent an email to Michelle but I know that you gals are just as much help 1. Does the wedding coordinator have a rehearsal? I think my fiance may have a small breakdown if we are not able to do this 2. My MIL really wants to have a dinner the night before but my fiance and I are not real keen on that idea because we will be having our wedding dinner the next night and think it will be repetitive and an unneeded expense. Does anyone have any suggestions or know what is the max number of people you can have in one of the restaurants and order off the menu. 3. If anyone recommends any photographers in Playa that have a website we would love to check them out. We are debating bringing one from here down or hiring someone there. Thanks so much!   8. I agree, I don't think it's a good idea since going to a destination wedding is quite expensive. If someone really wants to give you something they will find a way without you asking for it or putting it on a invitation, website etc.

I have a couple of questions that I am sure some of you could answer. 1. When would you recommend making contact with the local florist in Playa for a March wedding? Is there just Marvin or are there others? What is their contact information? 2. What is the average amount spent on the OOT bags....my fiance and I were thinking about $50. Too low or too high? 3. Has anyone done a catamaran excursion? We will probably have about 70 guests and would like to hear your opinions on them if you have done it. I am sure I will think of so many more but I just love this website and all the ladies that have shared their planning tips and ideas! Congratulations to all you summer brides, my fiance and I saw about 3 take place there in late may and they were all gorgeous! Andrea
