  1. Yes I think so, although I'm not sure whether making a bow needs doing in advance or whether you just tie it when you get there, although I'm not even sure if we're allowed to touch the chairs or whether I have to pay someone to do it. My fiance can't understand why I'm always 'researching', I tried to get him to indicate which kind of dress he liked but he said they pretty much all look like big white dresses to him. I love the fun of looking into every aspect of this, I wanted a short engagement but I'm glad my fiance wanted just under a year as it has given me time to have fun with this. Stouffville - coffee sometime and we can compare notes?
  2. I've ordered turquoise and then another 120 ft of tiffany blue (270 ft of tulle for $57 total - not bad but I may have to seriously look at finding some other uses!) I live in a small village called Sharon, which is just above Newmarket but I did work in TO at Yonge and Wellesly until recently.
  3. Well I'd better bloody hurry up and find something to do with it as 150 ft of tulle is probably a tad too much for the gazebo. Hmmm, maybe tulle swimming trunks for the men - gaggerific (no one wants to see that, although it is almost better than the speedo option). Really, how could I pass up on that much tulle for $26 delivered to Canada, as it is a whole lot easier for you lucky US brides to get the good stuff. I may be making tulle gifts all year long.
  4. Yep, just got a follow up email asking me permission to add the shipping (I noticed the small print after I posted here) and the extra is only $10.66! What a good deal for 150 ft so I've ordered the turquoise bolt and added a tiffany blue one - gotta love a bargain.
  5. Not sure if this is the right forum for this but I just ordered a 120 ft bolt of tulle for $15.45 including shipping to Canada (I'm waiting for them to send a follow up email telling me the pricing is wrong!) http://www.idearibbon.com/tulle-tulle-bolt-54-x40-yard.html
  6. You'll be there the same time as 1106wedding. I'll just miss the both of you as I arrive on 27 Oct.
  7. Has anyone got the webpage for Jasmine as I've searched through this forum and the web but haven't had much luck, although 'The Bride of the Magic Power' store did look tempting, who couldn't do with some of that? thanks
  8. Aw, I'll just miss you, we arrive on 27th Oct and I agree, it will be perfect!
  9. Have a brilliant time. Your wedding will be beautiful even if it snows I'm sure.
  10. That's great to hear as I'm going backwards and forwards about having a meal elsewhere but it would severely mess with the budget. I would LOVE to see your photos. juli
  11. Thanks Chapa for the info. I've emailed them to see if our date is free and it is, now we just have to decide if we want to go this route or not. If we get a few more people booking I'd like to. juli
  12. Thanks for the info. Where did you find out about this DJ (is it on the Lomas site)? j
  13. Ah good to know as I'd asked about a disco and was told there was live music in some of the bars but that was it. Mind you, with enough mojitos in me I'll be dancing regardless.
  14. I'm still torn between just going with the Spoons dinner and having something we have to pay extra for so that we can have a space outside and do some dancing (bloody budget). My sister got married in Cuba and paid extra to have a meal for the group and thought it was a complete waste of time. She also didn't have a dj and we did have a great time just having cocktails after but I really want to boogie.....
  15. Maggie I love the photo from your mum's album (23 of 77) and by the way you look beautiful in all the photos. Your mum certainly has an eye for photography, she should be hiring herself out! Do you remember the name of the photographer and does anyone have the name of a photographer they did like from Caribe Photo? juli
  16. At the moment there are 29 of us but 5 of those are kids and they'll want to be off doing their own thing, especially as it is Halloween, which is the second consideration as we don't know if there will be more going on at the hotel that night anyway (holds head in hands - oh the conundrum).
  17. Hi Ladies: I've just ordered three dresses from Babyonline and was surprised last night with a phone call from them to confirm the exact colours and backs that I wanted. So far, that has impressed me so let's hope it continues in that fashion. Fingers crossed!
  18. Sears has some really cute starfish sandals in either a gold or a silver tone with a giant beaded starfish in the middle, they're Jessica I think but I can't find a pic on their web site. I've bought a pair of cream Alfred Sung flip flops from Zellers which should be perfect to glue something sparkly to. I'm also making barefoot sandals, so many choices.....
  19. That's great to know as the budget is an issue. We're having dinner in Spoons so I'm not sure whether there is somewhere they'll let us set up afterwards if we're not having a reception elsewhere. I'm glad I found this site as you're all offering useful tips, thanks!
  20. I'll try replying again (as my last post had no 'quote' in it so probably made no sense at all). Thanks for answering and I look forward to hearing how it goes. Are you having a dj afterwards?
  21. Great, thanks for that, I'd be interested to see how it is. Are you having the dj after your wedding or opting for 'self entertaining' as we're torn with a smaller group as to whether it is worth it or not?
  22. Hi Ladies: I'm new to this. I'm getting married on Oct 31 at Azul Sensatori and completely disorganized. I'm just taking my chances on ordering a dress from China (in fact three as I thought at least one must look good). I had waited so long as I was waiting to lose that miraculous 30 lb but apparently you have to turn up at the gym and not just join it for that to happen! My question is whether anyone has used Spoons restaurant for their reception as we've got about 40 people and were planning on having it there. thanks
