  1. I think you could upgrade the resorts videographer for 8 hours for like $2400...Mike was $2600 for 5 hours but the quality is soooo much better!
  2. Thanks!! It was VERY HOT....but it was also the middle of July. Depending when you get married, the seaside grill should be fine. We also got married on the stillest day of the week! No breeze at all in the restaurant! But I still wouldn't change a thing!
  3. I used Alexis Grace Designs on Etsy. I think it's one word. I love my flowers and they're on display in my foyer right now!! They really popped in the pictures too! Here is my slideshow: http://200712mcmahon.dreamsriveriacancun.adventurephotos.com.mx/ There you can see how nicely they pop in pictures!
  4. They did them. I just showed them a picture. If I would have brought my own it would have been SO AGGRAVATING with packing them and worrying about how they looked or if they would be damaged. I would absolutely not recommend that. That being said, I believe they were around $100 each...and I have 8 of them..so that is up to you! We did end up getting a credit because I bought all of my own flowers for the girls and guys and myself and didn't use the ones in the package.. I didn't pay $800 for the centerpieces because they credited me, does that make sense? I doooo recommend bringing fake flowers for your bouquets and boutonnieres. IT was SOOOOO HOT that my real flowers would've wilted in like a second! If you want an etsy recommendation, I'd be happy to tell you one!
  5. About an hour and a half. My wedding was at 6 and they started me at 1 though. I wanted plenty of time. My girls started at 3.
  6. Hi Ashley! I am honestly not sure what she used on me. She did a great job! I will say it looked very used and I don't know how clean the brushes were. I use good make up too but I did a trial to see if I needed to bring my own. It seemed like mineral foundation and maybe mac eye shadows...but overall it was an array of make up. While she did a great job, if you're weird about make up and cleanliness of brushes then maybe bring your own and she will be good at putting it on!
  7. Thank you!! We paid $2600 for 5 hours. That includes the highlight video, 3 7D DSLR cameras, 2 DVDs and 1 blue ray, I believe. We should have our DVDs next week. They were awesome to work with but it did take my coordinator a while to say yes! I just kept pushing it. Then we paid a $150 outside vendor fee. Worth every penny! To upgrade your package to the resort videographer [besides what is included] it's $2400 and not even close to as good of quality. Thanks so much! I probably won't check back as often now that it's over. But feel free to email me any time with questions. I love talking about our wedding hahah. [email protected]
  8. Emily, We had to use the Dreams Videographer too because it was in the package but I will honestly say for he cost, there is no comparison. They cannot compete with the quality of outside vendors. We used them for our rehearsal and while what they put together was nice, it was not digital HD quality. It was not shot with a DSLR camera. If things like that aren't important to you, then I would go with the resort. We knew we wanted cinematography style in our video which is why we hired Mike Cantarell Films. It is nice to have the rehearsal video though and if you used them for your wedding I think they would do an okay job, but just be aware the style is vastly different. If you'd like, compare mikecantarellfilms.com videos with the resorts at www.videowedd.com Hope I helped!
  9. Well this isn't the resort videographer. It is an outside vendor, Mike Cantarell Films. We took a deposit via paypal before we went and then requested to be paid in travelers checks so we did that.
  10. Lol my husband is bashful because of all the kissing in the video haha. They just kept saying, "Give her a kiss, give her a kiss!" Little did we know they'd use all of that footage!! Who is your coordinator? When mine got switched to Lorena I was super panicked because she NEVER replied...but once I got there she was incredible. Every question we had was "It's no worry. It's no worry." And she was right!!
  11. Thanks everyone!! You have absolutely nothing to worry about! Dreams was incredible. I whole heartedly recommended Mike Cantarell Films and Cancun Wedding Video [both are his companies]. They were amazing to work with and did not disappoint at all!
  12. Hi all, I just wanted to share our wedding highlight from Mike Cantarell Films of Cancun Wedding Video. We love it! They did such a nice job!! We are excited for the full length version now! Here it is: Hope you enjoy it!
  13. Enjoy every second!!! It will be wonderful, Lorena will NOT let you down! Yaaay fellow Philly area bride!
  14. We have been married for a month tomorrow. A MONTH! I can't believe how fast everything went. I wish we could be back at DRC with all of our family and friends!! As soon as I get my video from Mike Cantarell Films I will post it for you all to see!! Lindsey
  15. We started in the Master Suite but the night of our rehearsal dinner they upgraded us again to the presidential suite for the remainder of our stay!
  16. Hey Joe!! Glad you made the best of it despite the rain! That is the attitude we wanted to have if it rained - no matter what, we were still going to be married!! And the bright side is you will have good luck in your marriage forever!! Make sure you post your slide show for us.
  17. Hi Jacki! Kevin and I received THREE upgrades while we were there and honestly, I have no clue why! My dad's theory is they do it in the beginning to be nice but our final upgrade he thinks was due to tipping. They noticed our group tipped a lot and did it to show appreciation. I am not sure if that is true. My dress was ivory with my groom's white shirt...here is our slideshow: http://200712mcmahon.dreamsriveriacancun.adventurephotos.com.mx/ You can tell a little bit but I hardly think it looks dingy!
  18. DJ Mauricio is the first name I heard so I asked my coordinator if I could have him and she gave me his info. I also said I had to have Anel and I got her! She knew she was doing my wedding and she emailed me first, I believe. Also, she found me at the resort in the lobby and came up and introduced herself!
  19. Yeah it was pretty fabulous!! I would say we were 100% happy with every second of our trip! Even the little hiccups seem so mini now. I am sad you can't post your slideshow! haha. You looks beautiful! We didn't have enough days after the wedding to get our photobook and CD so they are being mailed to us. I am jealous you have yours!!
  20. Melissa! Beautiful, beautiful pictures! I think I watch my slide show EVERY DAY! It makes me cry every time, still. It was such a magical trip for us and the wedding day was perfect! I hope yours was too! It certainly looked it!
  21. Yes! I had Yamina when I first started planning and she is the one who said yes, but she said Evangelina agreed to it. I literally had to ask her like 10 times. I showed her pics of other bride's weddings, lol... I wouldn't let up. Finally she said yes! Our whole group was 45 people, including us, but not including the resort staff. I think they can probably hold 6 tables of 8. It is kind of tight if you are a large group. I would say we fit pretty perfectly.
  22. I brought them. I got them off of Etsy but they would be very easy to make. We were short some numbers for the frames though, that they did for us.
