I say go with what you love. I've never been to DR, but from what I have seen in other brides videos, it does seem breezier a bit cooler Dec-Feb than in the summer.
With that being said, I am getting married at the end of June which is one of the hotter months and my dress is Satin and Organza..and a little heavy. I am fully aware that I will probably be hot... I have accepted and embraced that because I am absolutely in Love with my dress and can't imagine getting married in anything else.
this is the dress I got: http://www.allurebridals.com/Store_ProductDetail.aspx?pid=I117g4264910D12e0h5F
Not sure if that helps any... but good luck in your decision

I posted a pic of my ering a while back, but I thought I should post it again since I just got the set completed. My ring came with as a set with a wedding band, but I wanted 2 bands, one for each side of the ring. So we had to have a duplicate band custom made so that the 2 bands would match. Here is the final product... I can't wait to wear them!
This is my ering alone:
And here it is with the bands:

Awesome thank you! I think this actually might help... I go for my fitting with the seamstress on April 26th... I will definitely ask her.

I'm doing the exact same thing. My dress is the perfect length for my 4" heels. I trip over my dress in bare feet. The alterations girl took the inside/crinolin(sp?) of my dress and pinned it up a few inches in the front. This caused the front of my dress to pouff out a bit, allowing me to walk easily...but my dress is a mermaid style with flowing tulle at the bottom. After the ceremony I'll just remove the pins.
What brand and style of dress do you have?

Where is everyone? I thought I'd help bring this thread back to the top.
How is everyone's planning coming along? We just hit double digits I know there are some ladies that are less than a month away.
Also, I too have been wondering about the tip question Alex asked... any insight? Thanks!

It took me approx. 3 - 4 hours for the cake topper. I actually did it in a few mini sessions while I watched a movie or something so it didn't feel so bad. Crafty Eddie doesn't have a website perse but you can email him at [email protected] and he will then send you a link to a photo gallery of his work and ordering info. thanks Dominque! I love working on the DIY projects... I have more I am hoping to post soon

Thanks soooo much for the compliments! I truly appreciate it

The actual wood letter was about $14. I ordered it from craftyeddie and was able to pick the size and font I wanted. It's hard to give an exact estimate since I ordered sooo many crystals for various projects but I'd say roughly around $35. It's a little on the higher end since they were swarovski's... but I wanted them to be sparkly and last because I want to cut the "pick' off at the bottom after the wedding and will be making a shadow box and putting the letter in it.If the sparkly factor doesn't matter, non-swarovski crystals can be used, but I feel that they get dull with the glue over time.

I wanted to share the cake topper that I made. I'm very happy with the way it came out. I really wasn't able to get a really good picture of the sparkle, but I used all swarovski crystals on it and it sparkles like crazy!
I also made straw flags to use on stripped paper straws. These straws will be used in the welcome drinks that will be passed out when our guests arrive to the ceremony venue.
Thanks for letting me share! If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Thank you MrsG! I am actually working on starting something up after the wedding... I'm sooo busy right now with the wedding that I have no time. I just hope it takes off. And I did mail my RSVPs with a stamped envelope. Now if people would only return them...lol
Mzthan6 - I used Burgess Script for the actual invite

Did you sell the diamond ribbon wrap? If you have, do you mind me asking where you bought it?

Thanks Ladies!!! It really is a hard decision... From the beginning I knew I was going to have colored heels for my wedding, BUT I fell in love with the "classy-ness" of the white ones.... I'm leaning towards the white ones and wearing the pink ones with my reception dress which is also white and if I get the one I want it will have feathers on it too...
Now to decide if I hem my dress to my sandals, and only use the shoes for pics or hem it to my heels and struggle when walking in sand... Oh the joys of wanting beachy and traditional!...lol...I'm at such a loss

Pastor York only does a symbolic ceremony. He doesn't do legal ceremonies. That needs to be done by a judge.

From what I understand is that the 3 -4 minute clips that we see on the web are called trailers. some packages include it and some don't. According to him a trailer can be added on to any package...I think he said the cost was $200 or 250. I'd need to go back and check my email. Otherwise, I believe your 40 - 60 minute video is an edited "real-time" video. So probably a little smoother flowing an longer sections but obviously not 100% realtime because then we would get and 8 hour video. I ended up booking him for a package that didn't include the trailer, but he said we can add it on if we decided we wanted it. I'm pretty sure we will add a trailer because I really want to be able to send a link to that to family and friends that couldn't attend. I just didn't want to commit to it upfront.

Because the package says 40-60 minutes of video. So I'm not sure if it's all with music in the background, segmented into various clips or if there is any portion of the video that is just real time. Don't know if that makes sense... I asked Diego but the response wasn't clear and I figured it was the language barrier - and it doesn't really matter in the end so I gave up on trying to find out

It does sometimes take a while to get the deposit in and confirmed. But is she secured your date via email you should be more than ok. I know the last few weeks she has been super busy and slower at responding.
