  1. I wish we could have had the wedding at an adults only resort, but my son will be in the wedding so that was a no go. My son is going home with my mom the day after the wedding though....this way we can enjoy our honeymoon alone. The problem is that now the other family members and their kids will all be on the resort during the entire honeymoon. I mean I know we are going to obviously see other kids there, it's a family resort, but my fiance doesn't want to be running into his family the whole time we are on our honeymoon. Honestly I have gotten to a point where I don't care, I just want to have the least amount of stress as possible and that's why I told the family just to stay on resort. We are going to be in paradise! Haha ...so are there any brides that can recommend some off resort excursions they went on? I would love to do that.
  2. Congrats Brandy!!! Can't wait to hear all about it and see pics! Were u happy with the Beaches pictures?
  3. Ugh....I really wish I could do just myself, my fiance and my son but that just won't fly with my fiance's family.
  4. I don't have experience in the islands you are looking to get married, but I booked my wedding for Beaches Turks and Caicos in April of 2011 for a May 2012 wedding date, and they said there were PLENTY of spots open. What I was told was, the ceremony itself is only 15-30 mins max, and there are obviously multiple locations, so they have more than one wedding going on at one time. You can always call and ask...That's what I did. Good luck!!!
  5. Awesome replies ladies! Thank you so much for this! I really want to do a BD session, and was thinking of doing it while we are down in T&C, but have decided to do it at home instead so I can give my FI the book either the day of the wedding or before we leave.
  6. Hi Ladies!! I have been very actively watching this thread, taking lots of notes...but now I have a question... My fiance has a very large family...we have only invited adults to the wedding in Turks...but now all the Aunts and Uncles have gone behind our backs started booking, and looking into the vacations with children included. So, ok, we can't do anything about that, and we explained that it's an adults only wedding and reception and the kids will be invited to the AHR. Wellllll now a bunch of the family, actually majority, are looking into a house to rent off the Beaches resort....So now I have a new stress.....the day passes. Everywhere that I'm reading says that off site guests to Beaches need a day pass. We are doing the private wedding reception and dinner, so it says there is a negotiated rate of $150/pp including their plate at the reception...so have any of you brides had to pay this guest pass? Did YOU pay for it?? OR did you expect the guest that didn't stay on property to pay the 1/2 of the pass since it's normally $75/pp for the private reception? I'm so confused, and got really upset on the 4th of July because it was brought up then....Because I got so upset about it (tears, not screaming lol) the family said they would just stay on property if it was going to be an issue. This will make a huge difference in budget....and also the other factor of the kids in our family on the Beaches resort when we were hoping not to have to worry about them...(our honeymoon is for the full week after the wedding and we are staying at Beaches...the family members are all staying as well)..... So I guess this question is just wondering what has happened with these guest passes in the past for brides...who paid for them, etc.... Thank you for any input!!! ~Jess
  7. Wow! These came out really nice Lauren!! I'm glad to see some pictures from the Beaches photographers! thank you for posting them!
  8. Jenna your pictures are amazing!!! Honestly as soon as I showed them to my fiance, it was a done deal to go with Tropical Imaging! Thanks so much for posting them!!!
  9. I didn't know that they allow you to do the reception so much later than the ceremony!! Did you do the 1 or 2 hour private reception? or did you just get everyone together at one of the restaurants? I am having my ceremony at 3pm, and then having the two hour reception, but I'd love to have it later since no one would really want to eat dinner right at 3:30ish! Thanks for any help on this!
  10. Hello ladies!! I am DEFINITELY booking Brillant by TI for my wedding photos and TTD...but I was wondering if any of you had Boudoir photos done as well and what your thoughts were on that? I think my fiance, well then husband, hee hee, would LOVE these photos, but honestly with having a 5 year old it's not like we would be able to put them up anywhere...so I was just wondering thoughts on that, especially since I know this would be an extra expense....if any of the brides had a Boudoir session, what did you and your husband end up doing with the photos? Thanks for any input!
  11. That stinks that you can't find the same deal for your friends and family, but one thing that might be within their budget is to just stay for the 3 night minimum. That's what most of my guests are doing!
  12. Hi Ladies! I have gotten some great information on here so far in regards to planning my May 2012 wedding...However, I just got off the phone with my Beaches WC, Monica, and honestly my head is spinning! Originally we were going to do the most simple wedding down in T&C with family and friends and then have an AHR. We decided yesterday that we don't want to go through all the extra planning of an AHR and extra expense of course, and would like to have a private reception for the guests that join us in T&C... Here's my issue: My fiance's family is gigantic! LOL and they also have some money, so alot of the aunts and uncles are planning on coming to the wedding...this is good, but the guest list is adding up quickly...and with this, so is the extra costs associated with the private reception...so I am trying to figure out what things I can keep out of the wedding and reception to save some money, but not skimp on our guests. Here's my questions: (in relation to each aspect of the day ) Pre-wedding, getting ready, spa, etc... 1. Did anyone choose one of the spa packages like "Bridal Bliss"? or did you just do hair and makeup? And if you did choose a package, did you like what it included and felt it was worth the $250? 2. Did anyone have the Beaches photography crew come and photograph you getting ready with your mom and the bridal party? If you did, how did the pictures turn out? 3. Did any of the men have any spa services day of the wedding or before the wedding? Ceremony... 1. The arch is NOT included in Beautiful Beginnings...did anyone that got married on the beach not have an arch at all? What were your thoughts on this? I can't see paying $350+ for an arch that we are standing under for 15-20 minutes... 2. Pre-recorded music...I heard you can bring your Ipod with the music you would like...is there any cost associated with actually PLAYING the music on your Ipod? 3. Did you have a bouquet for your maid of honor, bridesmaids? Boutonniere for the best man?? My ceremony is going to be more on the casual side... After ceremony... 1. Did they take pictures right away or did you go immediately into your private reception?? (just trying to get an idea of time-line) Reception... 1. ONE decorated table is included...this will seat 8 people....we will need 4 more tables to accomodate our group. I was told that the additional tables will come with no decorations, only the white linens, if I would like the matching decorations it will cost $100 each table....for the BB package, the only decorations are a doile, clear vase and my orchids in the vase...again, can't see spending the extra $100 per table for that little bit...what are your thoughts? Or experiences on the tables being bare? It's only 2 hrs that we are doing the reception! 2. Food choices....they all look so good! I am able to pick 2 entrees because I will have more than 15 guests...what was good??? 3. Did you have a DJ? Live music? Do you need any of that?? Thank you for anyone that decides to respond! This is hard to do sight unseen! Pics are greatly appreciated too!!!
  13. I agree! Thank you Brandy for the amazing pictures you posted! This made up my mind right away to use TI!
  14. I hope this isn't true as well, because I already booked our wedding/honeymoon and we are staying in a Premium category room to get the "free" wedding...My WC from Beaches is calling me next Monday and this will be one of the FIRST questions I ask her. As soon as I hear something I will be on here to update you ladies!
  15. Jessica & Ryan May 19, 2012 3:00pm Beautiful Beginnings Beach ceremony
  16. If you go on the Beaches.com website and click on "The Resorts" click Turks and Caicos...and then go down and click "Accomodations"....it will bring up all of the rooms that are available...it shows what level rooms are premium and above....pretty much it's anything from the Caicos Premium Room and above that. I just told my travel agent that I wanted to cheapest Premium room booked to get my free wedding and she said that was fine because they also give you a free room upgrade Hope that helps!! I am getting married at Beaches T&C May 2012!
