  1. For those of you that did not hire an independent coordinator to work w/ DRC (whether you are already married/still planning), how is this working out for you? Besides the possibility of slow communication until a few months prior to the wedding, how has the experience been? TIA!!!
  2. Just wanted to check to see if this info is accurate. In order to get married (legal) in Mexico, you have to be there 4 full days prior to the wedding? Meaning, if the wedding is on a Fri, you have to get there the Sunday prior to? Is this true? Have seen different info on a few different sites and just wanted to confirm with the experts Is this also a requirement if you do a symbolic ceremony in Mexico?
  3. Hello, Can anyone recommend Wedding Planner/Coordinators that supports the Riviera Maya area? We still have not made up our minds on whether we should use hotel's coordinator or hire an independent coordinator to work with us and the hotel coordinator, but would like to know who we should consider (great work/communication, reasonably priced) if we do go that route. Thanks!
  4. To add to previous post (above). It is good idea to only work w/ the DRC WC or hire an independent WC who would work with me and the DRC WC? Thanks!
  5. Good Morning I have been reading a lot of this website (and still have a lot more to read ) but wanted to asked a question. Based on experience of those who got married at DRC or who will be, do you recommend getting/having an independent Wedding Coordinator, than the one provided by DRC? Thanks!
  6. I really appreciate all the feedback and suggestions. I think it is a great idea to us that info/check out multiple cities and compare. Great appreciate it!
  7. Great point and thank you. I guess I got it confused since March is considered low season here. Thanks Pucca!
  8. WOWZA, is right!! LOL Most would be flying out of Baltimore, MD
  9. We really are interested in Cabo BUT the cost to guests (airfare/hotel flying from BWI, Charlotte, Rochester NY) is over 2K which is too high. Can anyone recommend any other locations where the cost for hotel/airfare may not be as high when looking at guest costs. We are not looking to plan the wedding around guests but still want to have it where the costs is not too expensive. thank you!
  10. We got our proposal (regarding hosting ceremony and reception) at Dreams Los Cabos!! Good News.....The proposal was great, in line with our budget and there was lots of room for flexiblity which we were really excited about. Bad news......the estimate cost for guests (airfare/hotel) is too dang high Over 2K for a 3 or 4 night stay. Have to take some time and re-group.
  11. Thank you We are looking at Dreams in Cabo as well. If we do go with Dream, we do plan to try to give everyone at least a year to prepare and save. Thanks for taking the time to respond!
  12. Thank you for your feedback We haven't been planning that long but I can see already that if you don't stay focused, you can easily become lost in trying to please everyone which I will never be able to do. Thanks again. We are looking at Dreams In Cabo as well!
  13. Hello, This is my very first post (with 2nd time posting this message and I am pretty sure I posted this in the wrong thread prior) My name is Frances and my fiance and I have just started to consider/try to determine whether we are going to do a local v.s. destination wedding for March 2012. In researching destinations, we are very interested in Cabo. We have reached out to a few planners and are currently awaiting a preliminary proposal. While it appears positive that we may be able to afford hosting a wedding/reception in Cabo, we have a concern relating to guests. We would definitely want to give guests at least 11-12 months to prepare/save. But the concern i have is, how much is too much to expect someone to be willing to pay to attend. I definitely understand that some will and some will not be able to attend but for those that do want to attend and plan to save in order to attend, how much it too much to expect them to pay for hotel and airfare.
