  1. Hi beachbunnybride, My wedding at Sugar Bay was this past Saturday and I have absolutely no regrets! Like you, I was a bit nervous due to tripadvisor reviews of the resort itself but everything was beautiful. I'll post a more detailed review when I get back home in a few days.
  2. Acireta, I'm looking to have a welcome reception at Iggie's in March. Did your WC set everything up, or were you in contact with someone at Bolongo? I sent an email to Lorena but I was wondering if you had another contact.
  3. We went with the Tropical Paradise package and added the videographer. To get married on the St. John terrace was extra as well. The website setup is very simple, but it's a very basic layout. A friend if mine created us a website on shutterfly and just put a link on the site provided by Sugar Bay since I had already ordered my STDs. The wedding coordinator is pretty good with responding. I'm sure she's tired of me and my million and one questions, lol.
  4. A lot of our close family and friends said from the beginning that they were coming without being asked. I started off by booking the venue. From there, I got room rates and sent out an email to all that were interested as well as a few more people that I knew we wanted to invite. I simply gave them a breakdown of the room costs and asked them to respond to one of three options (will be attending, unsure, and not attending). Once their responses were received, we reserved a wedding room block. And once they put their deposit down, we booked the reception.
  5. Congratulations jamers82! I'm getting married two days before you in St. Thomas and I also live in Texas! March is fastly approaching!!
  6. I'm getting married at Sugar Bay Resort & Spa in March. Their wedding ceremony prices are reasonable for the reception cost can get pretty pricey depending on the number of guests attending. They charge you for EVERYTHING but I haven't talked to a bride that wasn't satisfied. Good luck with your planning and choosing a location!
  7. You're right Laurelyn...March will be here very quickly! I finally got my invitations in and will be mailing them next week. I didn't get response cards because we basically know who's coming and figure the invitation is only a formality. We currently have 44 guests booked with only a handful seemingly waiting until the last minute. We still haven't picked out the groomsmen attire (on the to do list for tomorrow). JosABanks is having a sale where you buy one suit and get two free but it ends tonight and they wouldn't ship until 2/24! That would have been perfect since we only have two groomsmen but oh well. I also plan to work on centerpieces in January and order my bridesmaid shoes. We also need to finalize the location and transportation for our welcome reception. Since we're not doing all inclusive, I want to make sure that everyone gets off of the resort since it will be a lot of guests first time outside of the continental U.S.
  8. So with less than 4 months to go, I'm starting to get super excited! After reading what some you ladies had accomplished 3 months ago, I'm going to try not to start panicking, lol. My mom and matron of honor keep telling me that I need to get on the ball. I have yet to pick out the groomsmen attire and I thought I had selected the invitations but when getting the sample in the mail, it just looked cheap. I'm currently looking for shoes for me and my girls. My dress came in September and my first fitting is in three weeks. What are you ladies up to at the 4 month mark?
  9. Thanks for the suggestions ladies. I hadn't tried ebay or bluefly.com (liked a pair on ebay). I didn't find anything on the other sites that I absolutely loved though. Nordstroms has some really cute blingy, silver shoes that I really like and will go with if I have no luck finding blue.
  10. Does anyone know of any websites that I'll have luck finding some cute blue (not dyed) wedding shoes?
  11. Hi Tracy, I'm getting married at the Sugar Bay Resort & Spa in March and I'm thinking of booking Sugar & Spice for hair and makeup. I talked to a bride who recently used them and she had nothing but great things to say about them.
  12. Jules118, I just sent you the information.
  13. Thanks for the review and congratulations! I'm getting married at the Wyndham next March. I haven't dealt with Monica much yet since I just put my deposit down a few weeks ago, but I hope everything goes smoothly. Did you stay at the Wyndham or another resort?
  14. Thanks for the link to the other thread! It seems that so many people consider St. Thomas but eventually change their minds and go to other parts of the Caribbean. I put my deposit down a few weeks ago for the Wyndham. To get the wedding packages info, I had to fill out a form on their website http://www.wyndham.com/contact/eform_contact_wedding_requestpricing.wnt, then click on a link that was sent to my email. From there, the wedding department emails you the packages. If you've already tried this, I could email you the information if you like.
  15. Hello everyone, My name is Kedra and I'm looking to get married at the Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort in March 2012. Has anyone recently gotten married here? Any advice/tips would really help!?
