oh i just read your post now. my friend had short thin hari at her wedding a few years ago and she did a really cute updo. here it is from the back (not the best pic, but its all i've got) and a nice one from the side

i wanted a veil and flower as well and i think i pulled it off! i wore the veil "under" my hair do and put the flower on the side. here is one where you can see what i mean and here is a close up of my hair, but the flower is on the other side. but i like this one, even though the wind had blown some of it out of place by then and finally, here is my hairstyle for my AHR a week and a half ago! i think i like it better than my wedding! although no veil and a different flower in the back that i didnt get pictures of, lol.
