What is everyone working on?! I got a lot of little checks done today actually!
Major Projects
Paper: Invites - DIY Boarding Passes, almost ready to print, Monograms done, working on my print tags for my OOT bags
OOT Bags - I know it's early but if it's on clearance from the summer I pick it up.
On a side note... also working on my invites for my AHR and trying to figure out cost for centerpieces as I'll be DIY'ing those too. It's likeplanning 2 weddings at once!!!
-
Congrats to you!!!
Can it really be 9 months already?! I feel like I just did my site visit and booked it a year to the day WOW!
I've been looking at flights, figure we'll book our around 6 months out. Just going to keep aclose eye on pricing. Many of our guests have never traveled int'l so they'll need a lil assistance on when to book too!
As for my dress, I ordered closer to the end of June, said it would be in in 3-4 months but they will hold until my first alterations appt on April 4th. Unfortunately (but fortunately) I went to the flagship store in NYC to order my dress, it's a 5 hour drive each way so I can't just swing in to see it. No nightmares and fingers crossed they don't mess it up, don't think they will...

Have any of you ladies booked you plane tickets yet? Also, how long in advance do you plan on starting the alterations process on your dress? I only ask this question because I had my first "dress nightmare" last night!!! I hope they don't become an every night thing!

I just read the instructions you posted from the blog... Seems relatively easy, 20g, think I could manage. I thik the wood hanger adds a nicer touch anyways, despite the fact it will definitely hold up your dress

Just thought I would share as I know a few of you were wondering and I just found the rest of my spool!!!!

Perhaps something like this?! Just thought I'd share... It's from my "dinner/reception" location. Love at first sight for me, no LED's though...

@ TORI
I just saw the shells atop the reeds... LOVE them even more! Great job!!!

Love. Exactly what I was picturing from your description. I too like the stone but agree it's not light enough. I am thinking along your lines of sand in the bottom and a few shells on top, will be perfect! Will you be surrounding with votives? The height makes a statement for sure but they are still "soft" if you will...
As for moving them after dinner... if you have a WC that you can trust to move these without disrupting you and your guests, go for it. Are you doing dinner in one room and then dancing and cocktails in another? What will the tables be like in the other room? Personally, I'd probably go for something different - opportunity to introduce another element into the mix or if the tables are round, keep it low to the table just for accent. Could you use your bm bouquets in this setting? Ok... I'm rambiling

I am undecided as to whether we will use these at the reception too (2 separate locations) should we move them when we move after dinner or should I do something different over there?!
Anyways here they are. I would appreciate feedback on a few things. 1 in these photos is done with shells and 1 with stones. I love the stone look but I don't think it is Beachy enough or light enough. If I did the shells I think I would do sand and just a few shells on the top instead of all shells. Anyways would love the opinions from all you wonderful ladies!!!
(sorry it's sideways... I don't know why, it is up and down on my computer.....)
I do not want to start rumors on the board... but... I just checked the website to try to confirm and they wern't on there. It was a clearance item of sort, straight vase v shaped, I wasn't in there for them so took quick notice and kept on my merry way. I was hunting for apothecary style vases that of which they definitely do have (AHR)

Outstanding pictures!!! Love the layout! You must be super excited!!!

Loving the purple paisley as well!!! I could only hope that my printer would print the purple the way it looks on the screen, it definitely prints more pinkish! Thoughts? Using an HP (also does photos) with individual colored ink cartridges, I think Canon does the same as far as the cartridges go... I brought it to a Staples to print, same color effect. Pretty sure they printed on a laser... Think I might be out of luck.
Loving your latest project and so looking forward to the final review!!

I love this for it's simplicity, it's meaning, the cultural background and that your FI designed it! The script font looks so nice with it, I definitely don't think it's masculine at all (I'm not a girly girl either)!!

I can picture it and it sounds outstanding! Very creative and I love the height of them. I would think even more so to go with the callas as your centerpieces are simple but elegant (I'm all about flow) I may have to hunt through the canadian threads to sneak a peak... I can only imagine how many there are though, there are a lot of "you" on here
As for real real touch flowers, didn't even know!! Apparently all the sites I've seen haven't been real because they've looked fake to me! I'll definitely have to search some more, just got my quote today for my bouquet at 150/200 CI dollars so 180/240 US dollars... ouch!

I have posted my centrepiece but not on the centre piece thread, prolly one of the canadian threads. I wanted height so I have opted for 8" hurricane vases that will be filled with sand and shells on the top and in them will be 3.5ft grasses like reeds thats I picked up. Sounds really strange but I really like the look of it, its very natural and different from traditional flowers or candles. We are having one long table so height in the centrepiece was important to me while still allowing people to talk around it!

Thanks for doing the test run for all of us!!! I was curious how these would work! Was there a smell that came from them at all? Usually a pain relieving patch will have a menthol smell... May have to give these a shot! Still really hot in GCM at 530pm

I am working from home today, it's a hot muggy day, so I thought it was a good chance to test!
I got the patches from Walgreens as suggested on here -> http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/walgreens-disney-instant-cold-patches-large-3-pack/ID=prod6067944-product
There a 3 patches which I cut in half, and applied three to each thigh.
I had no bad reactions, after a little while i forgot they were there, and i could definitely feel the coolness, although not cold and uncomfortable.
I don't think they will bring HUGE relief but anything that will help will be worth it considering there weren't uncomforable and are cheap.
Also they don't last super long. The box said up to 4 hours, but by 3 hours the effect was completely gone.
I plan to put them on right before I leave the hotel room so they will last through the ceremony and cocktail and into some of our photo session. Then when it comes close to reception time I will take them off, in perfect time before the garter has to come off!

I'm wearing my dress all night! I'm in the market for a short dress for my AHR though...

These look great! The map on the jacket is very creative and I love it!!!

Done, Done and Done! I will not be tweaking any further as I think I might drive myself a bit crazy if I keep at these. Just need to purchase the paper and supplies (I've started collecting these) and time to assemble! Below is the final version and I've included a picture of the monogram I will use for my belly band.

Your dress is gorgeous!! Just the right amount of bling!! When does the dress come in from the boutique? I'm sure it will be fine but can understand the anxiety... I am floored by the fake website experience, what was the outcome?! Have you been on etsy for your hair?

I'm so scared that it will not be the right dress or that something will be wrong with it. Our wedding date is September 5, 2011 and we are getting married at the Moon Palace in Cancun, Mexico. I loved Maggie's dress, Ireland and think it will be perfect for a beachy wedding! Wish me luck girls. Now just to find something for my hair.
my shoes - I fell in love with them. I love how they are "something blue" and say "I Do" on the bottom.

This is probably the prettiest pair I've seen yet, very simple! I am definitely DIY for the ceremony, used to make jewelry when I was younger, looks very simple to do!

I didn't realize you are using real touch for your bouquet, I think calla's look the most real of any real touch flower (you know there are some that you can tell are"fake"). What are you doing for centerpieces? Please excuse if you have posted on that thread, there are so many pages within I wouldn't know where to start! The composite flower is indeed gorgeous, I don't think I have seen one before and definitely looks like a peony to me. It is so easy to get caught up in all the details that we plan that we lose sight of our original vision or stray away from it... To be able to bounce ideas of eachother, beyond great! This board has been most helpful for that, especially when you have "laid back" fiance's

I love it but I don't think it would work so well with real touch flowers....... I may stick with my calla lillies now that I have decided on centrepieces (not using our bouquets as originally planned) Thanks for the input with regards to the dress!!! It means a lot you remember and will be honest that is exactly what I need. My dress is not sleek and simple so a sleek and simple flower would prolly be best. The peonies look as ruffly as the dress lol Thanks

Tori - I love the first picture of the single flower! What type of flower is it?! Calla Lillies are gorgeous and very simple, elegant and classic. I wouldn't say they are "over done", true they are used quite a bit but I think it's becuase there isn't another flower that is similar. In my opinion, everything needs to flow for a wedding, the dress, the decor, the flowers etc... Calla Lillies would compliment your dress beautifully because they are simple. Personally, I think the peony bouquet below kind of resembles the flower on your dress too closely and the bouquet may get a bit lost. I hope this isn't too forward, just wanted to give you an honest answer!! Keep us updated with what you decide!

My best friend just used them in her centrepieces at her own wedding 2 weeks ago and my mom says they are kind of "over done" I wanted something simple and elegant that would not "date" my pictures but now I am just not sure. Here are some of my inspiration pictures but I just can't decide!!!!!! Any suggestions?!

"Open Air restaurant" swoon those will be dynamite! As for outside, I love that you get to change locations! Keep it simple, for sure! Sounds perfect, carrying through the shells outside - all about the flow right?! Glad yo don't think I'm rambiling, I just start typing what I'm thinking and I go back and read half finished sentances... silly.
BTW, thanks for the compliment about the orchids, I have another picture too of green ones with no table linens, they pop in the restaurant as it is all dark mahongany wood.
