BTW apparently the resorts are trying to make it possible to do more personalizing to the ceremonies but this is in early stages. They are also trying to get more tropical/native floral options for bouquets. So, if you have a ways to go before your actual ceremony I recommend making NO commitments just yet to details as options may increase. They are also discussing lower the fee for a sunset ceremony and I actually think this is pretty much a done deal - like $600 extra for sunset ceremony - which sunset was 6:15 - 6:30 just last week there and I think the latest no addl fee ceremony is 4pm which is what I chose.

My TA/friend is back from her trip to Jamaica! Bad news - the rooms are NOT being renovated - booo! The exterior is being painted a neutral color and there are other upgrades going on: Club Liquid added, Tween hangout, xBox garage. She said that this is resort is of course on the smaller side but that is the best part because the staff is more easy going and they get to know you by name and your likes/dislikes. She met Chloe (off site coordinator), Fabriella (onsite WC) and Nicholas the resort manager and said they were all super nice and more than helpful.
If you have kids in your group this place is nice for them as they have added the above mentioned amenties for them - they even have crafts and full day schedules of activities by age groups!

Jordana thanks so much for the info!!!!!

I hadnt seen this fb page yet - THANKS!

May I ask what material these are made of? I need a similar shirt in deep purple - i'm having a terrible time finding something even remotely similar in ANY purple tone - wondering if these would be dyeable????
-
Have you tried eBay or Amazon.com? Maybe you could PM Tifany and ask her where she got hers - maybe she would be willing to sell you hers??????????

Here's my $.02 - I would choose the David's Bridal dress as I like it personally and the fabric seems to be more forgiving when it comes to a womans curves. I tried on a dress similar in material to #2 and it made my thicker waist a lot more noticeable - but im not real sure where you carry your weight as mine is tummy and inner thighs. The only caveat about David's is their alterations tend to get pretty darn pricey. Best of luck - it took me three times to make my final decision!

My TA/friend is leaving Friday for Jamaica. I have given her a looong list of my pics request and asked her to pick up some brochures, postcards, etc. I hope to be able to share them in about 1 1/2wks or so. Sure wish I was going with her, lol.

I am planning on just having the 30min reception included in BB wedding. Can any of you ladies tell me if you thought this was a waste, not long enough, what took place in the 30min, etc. I just cant wrap my mind around paying for a reception/dinner at an all-inclusive - we could eat at restaurant and go to Liquid Bar. Please help!

I too ponder these thoughts....I just feel like I should be doing something more to show my appreciation for coming all the way for the wedding but then I think it was their decision and it is a vacation for them and nothing would stink more than to spend the money on favors only to have them discarded or not used. ughhhhhhh - decisions!!!!
My fiance really wants to do something "unique" so we are considering having personalized temporary tattoo's made for fun - has anyone on here done those? Just interested in where you purchased them and how they were received by guests. (Our group is a bunch of goof-balls so they would probably like them but I'm having a creativity fart!)

I too have toyed with this same idea - but have decided not to. People will more than likely have their own camera and any other weddings I have been to the pics taken on these are usually not worthy of any wedding album although some have been mightly interesting.
FYI though to the ladies considering this they were on a great sale on Theknot.com just the other day and were pretty well priced!!!!!

YEAH AND CONGRATS! How exciting right?
Dress shopping is a lil different, but let me just tell you this will be my second wedding, first for fiance and I actually went with a wedding dress instead of typical dest. wed. dress. I didnt get to wear one my first time and figure my fiance deserves to experience his lady in a beautiful wedding gown! We will trim the train down some but other than that its on!
I think you are going to be perfectly fine w/ heels for gazebo ceremony and then just kick them off for beach photos!
Have a fantastic time dress shopping - ladies tend to get so stressed about it and I for one LOVED it - and darn it I only got to go three times!

We are BOOKED! We will be married June 30th at Sandals Negril! I cannot wait! We are working with a TA- so thank you so much for that advice- she is from dreamakers and is already impressing me.
I know the next several months will fly by and my to do list is already filling up! Dress hunting is a priority- I would LOVE to hear about everyone's dresses- dress shopping is so different when you have a destination wedding I think! I want to "Trash the Dress" so I don't want to spend a lot! Also- SHOES!!! I am short and would love to wear heels... we are just going to get married at one of the gazebos- do any of you girls think I'd be ok wearing heels for the ceremony and then just sandals for beach pics?

Have you gone to the Sandals weddingmoon facebook page? They have pics from several different resorts and I have to presume that some of the pics posted are from actual photographers from that resort - or maybe you could post your question on that fb page and get some help?
-
Have you ladies asked your WC if they have any recent ones that they might be able to email you that arent "stock" pics? I know some of the WC's arent real helpful from what I hear on this forum but just maybe they could do this - might be a privacy issue not sure but you could try asking. Just a thought cause I have typically only seen BB wedding pics too.

AWESOME - way to go! Congrats! Now you wanna design mine - lmao - jk. Job well done! Pat yourself on the back!

My fiance and I are wanting to have some temporary tattoo's made for a "favor". Something fun but also including either Jamaica, our wedding date, possibly our names. I have found a couple places online but had some questions for you helpful ladies.
Anyone have any ideas?
Anyone do this? If so, how did they turn out and who did you use for design & or production?
Thanks in advance for your help - if you have any pics I would LOVE to see those!

Ear buds and iTunes gift card! Coach bags are nice but women can be picky about style, color, blah blah. I agree on the beachbag w/ small items - doesnt seem as "big" or thoughtful. If they are your true girlfriends like they sound to be - I dont think they are really to give a toot as long as they get to be with you and celebrate.
-
First off I have to say that I work in the medical field so it cracks me up to be on this forum and keep reading about BM's - lmao.
Anyway, I LOVE these personalized hangers - I ordered one for myself from lilafrancis on Etsy (she has a bit of a waitlist but I LOVE her technique and hers are $15 (you then add to your own hanger or $20 complete). For you bridesmaids that arent married you could always do their first name and then a design such as a heart, flower or related theme to your wedding (palm tree, starfish maybe) or you could simple do bridesmaid, friend, name of where ever you are going (ie Jamaica). Just some thoughts.
Another idea might be to watch for thirtyone sales or something similar and get them a flatiron "case" with their initials or a make-up bag, jewelry roll - something to assist in their travels for this and future.
Best of Luck!

I have also heard that bandaids are really good idea. I know they can be somewhat difficult to track down and Lord knows they will be overpriced when you do find em!

I was going to suggest the exact same thing for these baggies. If you have a Hobby Lobby nearby their jewelry supplies go on sale quite often and usually at half price!

I'll keep you posted - hopefully I can have some pics by mid-Feb. I will for sure have some verbal info soon after she returns the 1st part of Feb. I'm hoping they are ditching the bright, bold color scheme. I know from Chloe my WC, she has said that they have added a club Liquid and Xbox garage for kiddos.

You really need to check out the facebook page for "Fans who love Sandals weddingmoons". Although pics are from several different resorts they are all "sister" resorts so wedding theme pics are "same". My TA/friend is going to Beaches Sandy Bay next month to meet w/ WC and take tons of pics of all the new renovations. I have a floral brochure and wedding site pics that I can email you if you PM me. We are getting married Jan 2012.
-
I know what you mean. I too have heard some bad - but more good than bad. When are you going because my TA/friend is going in February and meeting w/ Chloe the WC and she is also going to take a bunch of pics of the upgrades/renovations! If there is anything you are interested in seeing let me know (although I have a long list of things I want pics of - lol).
PS - Chloe told me today that we could use starfish for the fower-girl and if we ask on-site WC she will arrange for them to be picked up after the ceremony at no extra cost! Can you believe it? - something FREE - lol.
-
I have just heard that there have been no problems with starfish. I also got a tip that you should bring receipts for all the "decorations" you take through customs so you dont have to fill out forms or pay taxes on them!
Ceremony and Reception Music
in Sandals, Beaches, and Royal Plantation Resorts Weddings
Posted
If you need assistance in choosing music go to projectwedding.com > ideas > wedding songs. They have TONS of songs and they are all ideas from other brides and they break them down for like 1st dance, procession, father/daughter, bridal entrance, garter toss, etc.
At this time I am still going w/ 30min reception so I am having the lone steel drummer as he is MUCH more affordable than the whole steel drum band. For 3hr reception I would think you would definitely want the whole band for entertainment purposes as well as the DJ.
