  1. I wish I could see more pics of your contents!  Im still trying to finish completing mine.

Did you put anything with the postcard so people knew what to do with it?  I have already added our address label, but need to add correct postage and make up some type of attachment to let my goofballs know that I want them to use them and send back to us! lol

  2. You can bring your own petals or what not to put down but it must either be biodegradable or easy for maintenance to pick up (like larger shells as I was considering having my "flowergirl" disperse small starfish instead of petals!).

I think you are looking at a large expense to pay a resort to provide that many petals to cover the aisle but if that is your dream it could well be worth it!!!!

Tables do seat 8 people - each package is different.  BB is $100 for each addl table and if memory serves each packages includes like one table for bride/groom and another for 8 people.

Shane has been very attentative and helpful.  I am sad to see Chloe move on....my WC even met with her this spring, had lunch and took a pic of her for me so I had a face to go with the name....guess that's why I am more bummed about the transition.  I know things will be fine!

Thanks for everything ladies and keep the help, tips, and encouragement coming!!!!!  smile03.gif

  3. I left a voicemail for Chloe and she had "Shane" email me.  He has been very prompt in email responses!!  Daneel Drummond aka "Shane" [email protected]

  5. 1783lovely - I completely understand your stress and freaking out.  I agree the rooms are not as nice as Beaches Negril but you arent really going to be spending majority of your time in room right?  If you friends & family love you they we will just be damn glad they are A) in Jamaica B) with you for your momentous occassion C) If they dont like it they can try to move to Beaches Negril and should leave you alone about it!  I think things will work out - they are saving money and it is smaller and the staff will be much more personable at SB due to the decreased number in occupants.

Sllefebvr - Holy Moly $40k!  Yowza - are you paying for everyone's rooms?  What wedding package did you go with?  I am doing the Beautiful Begginings my additions are as follows:

Room $800-900 per person (I am only paying for myself, groom and my daughter)

Flights $600 per person (again only buying 3)

    Make-up $55

    One man steel drummer - $250 1hr

    DJ - $600

    2hr reception dinner for 50 - $2500

    4 extra tables for reception - $400

    2 dozen cupcakes - like $75

Of course I have to pay for photos which is apparenlty going to cost me my right leg - lol - $1500.  But I have seen the digital photo book you get and it was amazing!!!  Did you ladies know that the photog's go around resort the whole stay and take your photos during your stay too so you and your friends can buy them before leaving the resort - kinda cool.

I am bringing my own bouquet and some corsages since they are so stinking expensive at the resort.  My friend is going to do my hair as they typically charge $250 to do this.  Of course my dress and groom attire along with my daughters bridesmaid dress.

Unless you are getting a suite and one of the wedding packages I have no idea why you are getting to this expense.  I am curious though :)

If you have a travel agent you need to look into their honeymoon registry!  You set it up and people buy "things" like spa services, excursions, etc and what you actually get is a check before you leave for your weddingmoon so you can apply that money to whateever you like!!

Also my TA got me the coins when she went to Jamaica recently.

FutureMRzMalone - yikes on Chloe...where has she gone???  I too am so thankful for all the ladies and support of this website....this would be impossible without them!!

  6. We are getting married at Beaches Sandy Bay in Negril, Jamaica in January.  We are going with the "free w/ 6 nights stay" Beautiful Beginnings wedding package.  You can always add on or bring some of your own additions.  We chose Beaches SB because it is kid friendly, all-inclusive, on beautiful 7mile beach, very affordable and has only 128 rooms which makes it very quaint and less chaotic which my fiance is definitely looking forward too.

I have a thread under Destination Wedding in Jamaica that a few great ladies have posted pics on; I too have some pics of Beaches Sandy Bay and Beaches Negril if you are interested PM me your email.  My TA took the pics when she was there recently.

Another reason for choosing SB is that we can take the hourly shuttle over to Beaches Negril to utilize the water park, spa, restaurants and bars at no extra expense!!!  This makes the dinner/bar options double since they are "sister" resorts and they include shuttle service to/fro the airport at no extra expense either!

    Enjoy and have fun!

  7. We got everyone booked.  They either had to stay longer (I'm sure they are real torn up about that-NOT), or they had to cut a day or so off.  Either way everyone is booked at the same resort!!!!  Shew!

We are planning on the 2hr sit down dinner reception and DJ.  I will still have the one steel drummer for the ceremony and maybe have him play a little (last 1/2 of his hour) at reception.  The DJ will of course play music and act as emcee.  I was so glad to hear that the "free" rehearsal dinner choices are indeed different from the reception dinner choices.  I couldn't (read didnt want to credit card it) have done the 2hr reception dinner without my MIL's $ help so I am so grateful for that.  I will let you know when we get more planned.

I finally made my "final" (LOL) decision on my bouquet.  I am thinking about making keychains for my reception favor from some Jamaican coins my TA brought back for me.

I just saw a post on here for doing a guestbook w/ a Instapix camera and props.  It was awesome!  Now I need to decide between that and the Thumbprint guestbook.  More decisions.

Have you spoke to Chloe (WC) lately?  I have emailed her twice with no response and have seen on here that others are having a hard time reaching her.

  8. I had seen somewhere that Chloe had been ill but I too am having a hard time reaching her.  Not sure what is going on.....OMG I hope she is still available because I have heard horror stories about some of the other WC's and I do NOT want that to be the case in the last couple months of planning.

I am STILL having a terrible time deciding on a reception gift for folks?  The budget has about hit the max so any suggestions?  I have some Jamaican coins and I was thinking about making keychains with them......

Has anhbody spoken to chloe lately??? I cant seem to get in touch with her...

  9. BUMP.

Ladies I am wondering who will be at Beaches Sandy Bay in January 2012.  I will be there the 1st - 7th.  They are SOLD OUT for this time in January (guess I will probably miss out in my "free" upgrade for having 15 rooms booked - pisser!).  I almost didnt get my last 3 groups booked - ugh!

I am so excited!  My MIL and I are working on the reception details; I think I have FINALLY made my decision on my bouquet that I am having made by a family friend and taking with me.

I did find out that, as long as the resort has all the ingredients, you can work with the on-site wedding coordinator and have your own cocktail made for the reception.  I thought this was awesome!  Now I just need to come up with a good tasting, purple cocktail (any suggestions?).

  10. By "larger" I was referring to the size.  I would like them to be the size of a quarter or larger.  I am wanting to use them to make keychains for my guests at the reception.  I live in a small town in Kansas so I will definitely look into the bank option but I doubt thats gonna pan out - lol!

  11. Ladies (and gentlemen) - I am in the hopes that one or more of you would be willing to sell me 50 larger Jamaican coins; preferably newer looking one's.  I am in need of them for a reception gift at my January 2012 wedding.  I would of course pay for the cost of the coins and the shipping and maybe a little extra for your extra effort.

Please let me know if you are interested in helping this bride-to-be out!  THANKS for you consideration.

  12. Has anyone bought one of the thumbprint guest books for their reception???  If so where did you purchase yours from, were you impressed?  If you have had one at a reception did it turn out nice or would you rather have had a traditional guest book?

Thanks for any & all input!!

Sorry ladies I am posting this in several places of the forum as I am not sure which category was most appropriate.

  14. Are these barefoot sandals comfortable?  I wear a toe ring all year and it never bothers me but for some reason I am not too sure about these.......

Here are my shoes for the reception (minus pearl embellishment... might add a sparkly shoe clip on though-see below)!

I am getting them dyed in a bright colour but can't decide which one yet. My wedding colours are eggplant purple, silver and lime green accents. My dress is a dark ivory colour. I kind of wanted a colour that I would wear again so was thinking maybe a dark red? Or not worry about wearing them again and do a bright blue to compliment the ocean and have as my something blue... hmmm. thoughts?
