  1. You need to sign up for the email offers or add stuff to your portfolio or shopping cart. Then they will send you emails about free specials all the time. I think I get about 2 or 3 a week sometimes!  When you get the emails with the free items you have to click the link in the email to take you to the site. If you just go to the site it wont give you the offers. Also every email offer they send is different. So you can save some for later if you are not ready to work on that project yet.

Hope I didnt confuse you, Good luck!!

  2. i am bored...obviously! Here are the dates I saw on the last 2 pages...

  3. Date twins!! Yay Congrats! I have been checking the weather everyday. Still says 60% showers all day :(

I think I will try to fold my dress over my arm too. Just realized the resort steams the dress for free so I guess I shouldnt worry too much about it. Definitely not throwing it in luggage. As TheWolferts said, you cant go without your dress! My luck they would lose it...

We will be married on May 3rd, 2012 at Gran Bahia Principe Coba on Akumal Beach. Let's all pray that we don't get rain on our wedding day. Can I count on you ladies to do a "no-rain" dance for us? =) xx

  4. Does that mean you dont have to do the blood work?

    Good luck with the certificate!!

YAY everyone...the countdown is on! 5 days woot woot!

Well I got my dress last night and let me tell you...its gonna be a b*tch carrying that sucker through the airport!! I am short and its big & long and very awkward to carry. I was walking to my car & was laughing to myself. How does everyone plan on carrying their dress?!?! Are you going to fold it over your arm or hold the bottom up somehow? I will have to figure this out! FI said he will not carry it because it is in a pink travel bag...

we're picking up our marriage certificate tomorrow afternoon. I'm hoping I'll have more clarity then.

  5. Safe travels! We leave Sunday morning and I haven't heard from her either. I am not going to sweat it. When we check in, I plan on having them get in touch with N to let her know we have arrived & will be awaiting an appointment to meet with her.

I am sure she has everything set to go. Where is your wedding on Sunday? Beach or Gazebo? I am gonna be on the lookout lol!

  6. YAY! I pick up my dress tonight!

We leave SUNDAY & I am not ready! Had my bachelorette on Saturday which was a blast so of course Sunday was pretty much a wash. Cant get much done laying on the couch all day lol!

So is everyone doing the legal work here in the states?

We are waiting for our license to come in and have an appointment scheduled for May 9th to get legally married the day after we come back. BUT it is after our Mexican wedding date May 3rd & I am a little upset that its after the fact. I really wanted to do this before we left but I guess it doesnt really matter...

Going to pick up my dress today!!!!  YAY!!!!

  7. Congratulations! So glad to hear everything went smoothly for the most part. We also have the DJ and I am happy to hear you guys liked them! I was a little worried about that.

We will definitely be double checking our invoice!

Did you bring your own paper lanterns or use theirs? If you used theirs do you remember how much they were? I was not going to use any but after hearing so many people talk about them now I am thinking maybe we should...

I'm really sorry that I'm so late in getting back to everyone post-wedding!!  We just got back from MX last night and it has been a bit of a whirlwind.  The ceremony and reception were GORGEOUS.  There were some details missed, but overall everything went fantastic.  I had the Gold package and 36 guests.  We went with DJ Mannia for the reception and also extended for an additional hour.  All my guests were raving about the resort and also how beautiful/fun the wedding was - I even got a few "this is the best wedding we have ever been to!" comments.

Lleny was MIA during the reception and there was a bit of confusion about when the party ended, but we were able to figure out - that was the only large issue that came up.  Also, I was very disappointed that they did not deliver the leftover cake to my room, or even the sand jar from our ceremony.  But again, I got over it and focused on the bigger picture.  Our final invoice was also incorrect, like $400 extra in centerpieces in correct, but they fixed it right away and I didn't have any other issues.  But definitely check and double check your invoice.

For those considering the paper lanterns at the reception, I LOVED it and thought it added a really nice ambiance to the event terrace - totally worth it.  And don't worry about LED throwies or anything like that, they had lights for them and everything (but there was a $100 charge to hang them).

My hair and make up went well, but I would caution that any brides planning on getting married on the beach, GET AN UPDO.  I had my hair half-up, thinking that since our wedding was in the gazebo, it wouldn't be too windy.  It was fine in the gazebo, but when we went to the beach for pics, it  was ruined and I basically had to redo it.  I wish I had just done an updo and not had to stress about it all day.

Our DJ was fantastic and the MC did a wonderful job.  We gave him about 40 songs that we wanted played and let him choose the rest and they were spot on and really got the party going.  Our photographer was Juan Navarro and he was super friendly and though he was taking tons of pictures, you didnt even notice him there.  I'll reserve my final judgement on him until we see the pictures, but I'm hopeful.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask away!  I'll try to check in regularly.  I'm so jealous of all of you, I would go back and do it all over again in a minute!!

  8. I will have 30 when we get back but thats not until May 8th & it looks like your big day is the 11th :( but

    :) for you!

  9. I went crazy on Etsy too! Love it! Most my stuff is from there...actually mostly all of it is!

I left my shoes & jewelry at home on my 2nd fitting...so of course my third I was well prepared.

Oh, I dont think I will be sitting much in my dress. The top is hard to move so when I sit I have to sit very straight! lol!

Are you wearing a bra with your dress? I was going to but then decided to just go with double cups(dont have much there!) and they fit perfectly in the dress. It felt much easier than dealing with a bra. And the woman at my dress shop said to have someone sort of smooth out the "back fat" because of the way the dress hugs and the corset back. So she smoothed it down (if that makes sense) and it worked!

I had my dress fitting but I left ALL my accessories at home :(. I lost some inches so I could sit down with ease lol :) but when I put on my bra.. I had back fat. A friend told me to get a different bra and go back and try it on.   That will be the goal this weekend.

  10. I know exactly what you mean. We sent out our STDs a year in advance and EVERYONE was going. We are talking about 45-50 people... We did RSVPs 4-5 months in advance because of our room block date to add or remove. Well we will have 25 coming with us. The part that made me mad were the people who actually RSVP yes and I am still waiting for them to tell me NO. People are so rude sometimes and I only wish I was the 1st one out of friends and family to get married because things would be a whole lot different!

But I know we will have an awesome time with the people who came and not think once about the ones that didn't. And really I only need 1 person there in the end...

(Save the Dates went out 10 months before) We set the reply to be 3 months in advance, knowing we'd have a few people or their guests trickle in later. For us, it was important to get an estimate on the head count for budgeting purposes. It was amazing how many people said they were going and then by RSVP time, they couldn't do it. We've been engaged for 2 years and knew our wedding would be in Cancun the ENTIRE time, and at EPM for over a year and a half. We wanted to be able to save up for it, and also have our guest be able to prepare financially for it. Still, our "at least 50-60 people", turned into 32. Bummer that some family and friends can't make it, but it saved us a chunk of change! We were able to spend that money upgrading our room, splurging a little more for OOT bag stuff and doing spa stuff for the wedding party.

The RSVP's also had a "Beef, Fish, and dietary restrictions" option. This way our menu was set way early and it was one less thing to worry about! We scheduled a trip down there a month before we ordered the invites to do a menu tasting, meet the vendors and nail some things down. The only thing we were waiting on once we left was what the fish option would be. When emailing, it was easier to "apply pressure" because we said we HAD to have the option asap because we were printing invites. It worked!

  11. MsBlissMpls  - Congratulations! woot.gifI am so happy that everything went perfectly! Glad to hear they put you on the Toscana terrace if there's a chance of rain. Was curious what they do for that...

Can't wait to see some pics!!! Enjoy the rest of your stay!

We will be there in 10 days!!!

stefkva- Hope you have a beautiful wedding! Sounds like there is nothing to worry about(which makes me feel good too!)

  12. We are from Philly and I wish I would have booked last year. It was over $200+ cheaper for a ticket :(

They are still going up! I blame GAS!!

We have booked non-stop flights from Phila Int - US Air to Cancun. I think they were around $670 each.

I actually just looked and they are now $799!!!  CRAZY!!!!

Its so hard to say when to book because you never know...

  13. Sorry - I honestly can't remember if anyone asked about lanterns. I don't think they did but I can't see why they would charge $5 for this and not for anything else.

What about paper lanterns for reception did anyone ask? I think someone mentioned it costs $5 for each paper lantern to be set up.

  14. I hope all your fittings go well!

12 freaking days! Freaking me the heck out!! I went to the post office last night to FINALLY mail my brochures and luggage tags and stupid me didnt realize it was deadline for taxes! The line was like 30 people deep!! Needless to say I did not wait and have to go back today to mail them out. I should have definitely mailed these out earlier....oh well. Tonight I am going to print my welcome books, hoping we dont run out of ink and put together the oot bags.

    Panic has definitely set in!

  15. Yes, the white chair covers are included in all the packages. You can also bring your own decor & the WC will set them up at no additional cost.

(I was also on the webinar if anyone else has any questions)

It's mentioned in the Wedding packages general information document.  Can someone also confirm this who is not using the Gold package?
