we were supposed to have our reception on the spice terrace but they moved us to the resturant which was no big deal. the only minor problem we had was the main course, we picked silver menu iii with beef, and they tried to brin us salmon but alex (the other coordinator came over and solved the problem quickly)
overall we have had an absolute fablous time and already talking about when we are coming back

yay! Date twins! I cant believe its really over. After over a year of planning I really am shocked how fast everything went. The day was beautiful, hot but beautiful! We were in Mexico for 10 days and not one ounce of rain the entire time. We couldnt have had better weather. Honestly at one point we were hoping for at least a cloud lol!
Just as past brides have said the day flies by & boy did it.
That day we woke up, went to breakfast & then BAM I became SO nervous! I have no idea why...I wasnt scared or anything. I think it was everyone saying to me that morning "are you nervous" "todays the day" My hands were shaking all day! I did find out that his hands were also shaking when he was trying to shave that afternoon lol! I guess its just from all the emotions and excitement but I wouldnt have changed a thing!
How was your day? I am sure it was just as amazing!
kellygrrrl - you look gorgeous!! Congratulations!

Thanks!!
LOL I kept seeing things on Etsy that were so cute for the wedding and bridesmaid gifts but I just kept thinking that I have to bring all the crap down, which I was worried about.
We ended up with 3 bags. We both had one with our clothes & an extra full of wedding crap. I was so worried we would get stopped in the airport but thankfully we didn't!
I am sure your wedding will be amazing! No worries! It honestly went by so fast

I literally laughed out loud when you said you think you developed a problem towards the end, I feel like I am becoming a shopping addict oh well its fun and for a good cause (atleast thats how i justify my puchases, hahah)!

Thank you so much!
I got the short white dress from Arden B & it was so comfortable. It was from last season so I am not sure if they still have it but I am sure there is something similar there. Everyone loved it too! Honestly, I could have just worn that the entire day.

Sorry forgot to include the clutches I ordered from Etsy
For my 3 bridesmaids I added to their OOT Bags a clutchmakeup bag that I bought from seller EdensWake, 5 Smashbox lip glosses(from Ulta), nail filer & clipper set(from Ulta), nail polish(from Ulta), purse hook(Amazon) & earrings(Macys).
I think thats it...if I think of more I will add!

My after party dress! After a night of dancing I needed to change!!
I cant wait to see the pro pic of this!!
This is my favorite shot of the guys...just wish the other groomsmen was not in the restroom!!
We had a total of 25 guess come with us and had the time of our lives! It was amazing and unforgettable for us and our guests!
If anyone has any questions let me know. I will post some pro pics once we get some!

This site has helped me SO much. I really don’t know what I would have done without it. I want to thank all the past and present brides for all their inspiration. My favorite part was going through all the planning threads. I think I may have read every one of them so of course I have to do one myself!
How we met - My FI and I met through work. We were friends at first and then had a real “date†alone. Bliss every since lol! We always have the best times together and we both knew there was something different with each other. We have been together for 7 years!
On top of all the stress with the wedding we also bought our dream house and moved in 4 weeks before we left for Mexico. It was definitely a crazy ending to a wonderful beginning!!
Proposal - His uncle lives in Ft Lauderdale Florida(we live in PA) so we try to get down there every winter. December 2010 it was an unusually chilly December in FL. It didn’t stop us from being the tourists and heading to our usual spots along the beach! I love this tequila bar right on the beach; we go there every time we visit. Margaritas are fabulous and the food is great. I had a cold that year, nose stuffy and coughing badly. Well this was the year he popped the question!! I don’t know how he did it because I looked like a god damn mess from being sick and it being cold and windy. Lol I was SO shocked and surprised, which is very hard to do! I actually was speechless and said “no†in the meaning "no way". From that moment I knew a DW wedding was the way to go. And here we are…I was clueless and confused until this site.
Resort – We chose Excellence Playa Mujeres in Mexico. Choosing the resort was the easiest part for us. We have vacationed here twice and fell in love with it the very first time. Its beautiful! I didn’t care what people thought of it or if they could afford it…it was happening here! I figured I gave everyone over a year to save…make it happen people! I never wanted a traditional wedding and always thought it would be so cool to get married on a beach and it finally happened! We were married May 3, 2012! We were there for 10 days – here is a pic of our room view with our own pool!
Dress – Is a Maggie Sottero (Madison Marie). From the moment I started looking at dresses I knew I had to have a Maggie dress. There is just something about her dresses I just love! Sorry I dont have a plain pic of me in it...yet.
My shoes were hot pink. hard to tell in this photo. I dont have any yet of that day...
Bridesmaid dresses are Bill Levkoff. They were long but had them cut to their knees. Very light and comfortable.
Groom and groomsmen outfits were all from Express.
Flowers I just selected Gerber Daisies in hot pink, orange and a few yellow. I really love the tropical look so thats what I was going for.
Invitations – Allurement by Rebecca did my STDs, Invites and Bridesmaid cards. She is amazing to work with. I cannot recommend her enough! If anyone is looking for anything she can do it and you will not be disappointed!! (allurementsbyrebecca.com)

OOT BAGS – This was a pain but I am glad I did it. It helped me that I started to buy items pretty early so I wasn’t going crazy towards the end. (maybe a little especially with the move!)
I bought white drawstring bags from Amazon. All our guests loved them and everyone including the guys used them everyday!
Link to my OOT Bags & templates -
The only custom item I made for the bags were our awesome koozies! Loved them! It was hard to find because I didn’t need a ton. The site I ordered them from were awesome to work with too. They shipped in about 2 days!

Took me months to practice at work lol! Of course I finally get the hang of it…I am done.
I went through about 2 other luggage tag orders before these lol!
I mailed out Luggage tags & pre-travel brochure about 2 weeks before we left. Everyone used the tags & actually loved them because it was so easy to see your bag. I also heard everyone say they loved the brochures too!
Sorry I never took a pic of the tags. I bought the hard insert covers from a BDW bride and used ribbon to tie them to the suitcases.
Tied these to the maracas -
I had the WC place the Menu Cards on each table at the reception :

We used Moments that Matter & could not have been happier. I found them on BDW site and was in love the minute I saw the pics. If you are looking for a photographer you should check out their site. He also posts tons of photos on his Facebook page. I am dying to see all our pics! He showed us a few and I know they will be amazing! They were easy to get along & joke with and our guests loved them too.
Etsy – What can I say…I think I developed a problem towards the end!
I actually purchased a pair of earrings & necklace that didnt match my dress too well so then I purchased another set that went perfectly!
from seller CrystalAvenues (love her stuff)
shoe bling - which was a b*tch to do because the Do was too thin. I messed it up but oh well!

I bought them from here http://weddinglinensdirect.com/8xorsapa.html They usually have them on sale every couple of weeks. MsBlissMpls - your pictures are so beautiful! You look amazing, congrats!!

I actually used the map from the resorts webpage. I did a screen shot of it then copied it into paint then cut it out onto my document. Worked great just had to make it a little smaller!

May12 - I am so jealous & wish I was there still Congratulations & Best Wishes to you!
At EPM the sand is really soft unlike some of the other resorts in Mexico. No worries.
I had the spa do my hair and make-up, Sonia (sp?) and she really did an amazing job. I wish I could have brought her home with me lol A few curls came out by the end of the night but my hair is fine & thin and with the heat I expected it.
I did have a trial but it was a bit different the day of & turned out better. The make-up was more and stayed on better too. She made me pic my make-up style from a book they have thats huge and for my hair I did not have a picture. I basically said curl it all to the side & she did whatever she wanted. Guess I am too trust worthy but it turned out great.
I am not gonna lie, it was hot!!! But with all the excitement & everything going on it was fine & no one seemed to care (too much!)
We have been to EPM 2 other times both in September with no mosquito problem at all. I found it odd that it literally was from about 7:00 - 7:15 only. Even our photographers said they will be gone in 10 minutes. I am not sure if maybe because it wasn't super windy that day or what but it did not ruin anyone's time & were gone quickly.
I loved having our reception on the Spice Terrace. It was great. Nice views, private & the perfect amount of space for us. I know I said it before but the staff there really went above & beyond for us all.
We had an ocean view rooftop terrace and loved it. However, next time we go we wont be getting that room. We usually do the swim-out but thought we should do the best for this occasion!
Here are a few of our pics (cant wait to see our pro pics!! That's the hardest part, the wait.)
We had the silver package which comes with 24 photos. When we went to the photo booth to get them they said they took 65 pics & we could either get all 65 on a disk or pick out 24 pics to get printed which we did not want. We would rather the digital copies so they gave us all our photos on the disk. They came out nice but it was basically with a better digital camera.
We also loved our photographers who even till today my mom is still raving about. I sat them with her & her girlfirends for dinner & they loved them so much too. If anyone is still looking into outside photographers use them!!

Welcome back! Glad to hear you had such a wonderful time! Congratulations. I have a question about the mosquitos. When I've been to Mexico in the past, they've never been a problem. Maybe it's the resort? Do you have any recommendations for our dinner reception that's either partially indoors or completely indoors? We liked the CECO terrace and the Lobster house the best...

Hey Ladies! We are back from our May 3rd wedding at EPM! I have not had time to read up since it said there was over 140+ posts since I was last on! lol but I wanted to write a few things real quick.
Everything went well and was amazing. The 1 thing I would suggest for any May brides that is having their reception at night or even for dinner out side is to bring bug spray. The mosquitos came out every night at sunset. They only lasted about 15 minutes but were a bitch! We were on the Spice Terrace when dinner was being served & BAM everyone was getting attacked. The staff we had were so great & I couldn't have asked for better. Our head waiter in charge(forget his name) brought us out a bottle of bug spray even though we only needed it for 15 minutes.
We had N as a WC through email but actually met with Alex (who was very nice) but we only saw him for the ceremony & after to escort everyone to the cocktail hour...When we arrived with our photos to the reception area (who were also amazing - Moments that Matter) no one was there. We were supposed to walk in to a song & be announced but we were just standing there & decided to go in. So we basically were never announced..no biggie. I think everyone knew who we were haha.
They saved out cake for us but FYI they only save it for 3 days because of sanitary issues. You can also order it in your room or at any restaurant you go to. We found this out on the 2nd night when we went to Spice for dinner and had our same waiters! So we thought hey lets see if we can get the cake. They brought out the entire cake that was left. It was awesome but I wish I would have known they keep it for 3 days. I am just glad we got to enjoy it one more time!
Our cake flavor we choose was tres leche(SP?) & it was awesome!!
We were there for 10 days and the weather was perfect. No rain ever. We actually had a few clouds on the 7th day for about 2 hours and it was a relief! lol
Will try to post pics tomorrow & if anyone has any questions let me know.

Hey ladies just wanted to say we are finally here but not checked in yet. FYI make sure you double check your reservations for you and your guests. We have run into some problems and it's actually making me regrets this decision. This is our 3rd trip and have over 20 guests staying and we had all sorts if problems I am just hoping this isn't what the next 2 weeks will be. Also the WC does not work on Sundays so for whoever has their wedding today I am curious who will be helping. Best of luck ladies. I am hoping to report back with better news later. Side note weather says rain but it's beautiful here!

I finally finished my bags & books. Was hoping to not wait until the last minute but with moving into a new house & wedding planning things didnt go my way! lol!
I borrowed ideas from everyone on this site so I will also post the templates I used. If anyone has any questions or needs help with anything else just let me know.
I bought white drawstring bags from Amazon. $2 something a piece. Most items were from Targets travel section.
Inside I put in a zip lock bag:
Name tags:
Oh sh*tlabel:
Welcome Book:
I didnt have time to get better bags & my label was too big to put over the top so I shoved it in the bag. Don't think anyone will care seeing as they will just rip off the oh shit label anyways...plus at this point I am over with the wedding details and just wanna get there!!
On to the welcome books. I believe I used Mandys template (thank you!)
The cover & last page are on a thicker cardstock and all the inside pages are on regular paper. I just punched 2 holes & tied ribbon.
Inside pages
Thank you letter to our guests
Itinerary
More info about the resort with a pic of us from the last time we were at the resort.
Wedding dinner menu - not sure why I put this in here!

For my 3 bridesmaids I also include a clutchmakeup bag that I bought from Etsy, 5 Smashbox lip glosses, nail filer & clipper set, nail polish, purse hook & earrings

I couldnt agree more. Love Love the resort but the WC not so much...I never saw the WC after the ceremony. I heard he brought everyone to the reception but was no where to be found when we were there & needed help. I thought he would have been the one to tell the DJ we were there & to announce us when we came in...no one was there so we just walked in - to nothing
Not the end of the world and by that point I needed a drink from the picture shoots!
The one thing that did bother me was that I had to get the front desk to call the WC to setup an appointment to meet & finalize and give my decor too. This was after I have been there for 3 days....waiting. I have been wondering what would have happened if I never called to setup an appt(which was the day before)
On a positive note, they had all my stuff set up correctly and nothing was missing. But like you said you should not have to be like I wonder what will be wrong or I am surprised it went so smoothly as we both said the same things.
All in all it was a beautiful & amazing day that our guests & us will never forget!
I too cant wait to return! Our guests are even asking if we are going back for our anniversary!
