Hello Justney, Just like you I am upset about the whole DJ thing too but I feel like there's nothing we can do. Regardless of what, we are still doing our wedding in Mexico, it's not the US where we value customer service and we honor our words. Rodrigo is not the DJ, he is only the wedding director. The DJ is going to be Raymundo. Rodrigo said he can be there at the wedding to announce the wedding party and etc because he wants to make sure that our wedding will go right. I am going to try to work on a list and email them soon so there will be no hickups. Edgar also told me that they don't provide any wedding favors so I went ahead and ordered my own wedding favors on www.amols.com I ordered a masks, beads, and neon necklaces and some LED rings. It's pretty cheap on this website, you should check it out. It does suck that the resort does not feel any kind of remorse for what they've done. They are booting all the DJ's out b/c General Manager of Dreams owns Visual Sound, pathetic isn't it. Gotta think Positive:)

Veronica said if we use Visual Sound then she will throw in the light up dance floor for free. They are definitely pushing Visual Sound hard. Anywhoo I decided to go with Avi and Edgar gave me Rodrigo's email. Rodrigo is the wedding director and can be your MC too if you request him ahead of time. I spoke to Rodrigo and he guaranteed that the Music and Reception will be above and beyond my expectations. It definitely made me feel more at ease now that I've spoke to someone at Avi. Rodrigo's english is wonderful and he said that my DJ's name is Raymundo. He asked I send him a music list of what I like and don't like. He also said we will meet a few days before our wedding and go over the flow of the wedding. Because we are not using Visual Sound it will cost $600 for the dance floor. I am getting the lights under the table was wondering if I should cancel the lights and get the dance floor instead.

My ceremony is at 4:00 and I had Veronica set our appt at 11am. The reason I am doing it so early is just in case I am not happy with the results then my sister can help me redo my hair and makeup. Also gives us time to relax and have some champagne with the bridesmaid:)

There is a website called Honeyfund.com and I believe you can register for a Honeymoon and your guests can contribute to it. I know we are experiencing the same thing. I don't want gifts but don't want to be too forward either. I was reading blogs and a lot of ppl say it's tacky to put who you registered with along with y our invitations. What we did is we set up a website at MyWeddings.com and had all the registry info in there. I know most of our asian guests will give cash or checks but for the other guests, we set up a registry at Bed Bath and Beyond. My sister mentioned that it's extremely easy to return stuff at Bed Bath and Beyond. Hope this answers your question. Sharon

Thank you Brooke. I was stressing out at first too but now I feel like it's all coming together. Like many of the past brides have said that in the end, everything will be fantastic. I cannot believe how long it takes for to receive your bridesmaid dresses. It takes up to 12 weeks so for those brides that are kind of last minute like me, GET ON IT My maid of honor is wearing a different dress than my bridesmaid. Ursula, I will be using Avi Productions, ti's another approved DJ with Dreams. I am not sure who will be the DJ, I am still waiting on a response from them. I heard from [name removed per request of poster] that the General Manager owns Visual Sound that's why he is so adamant about everyone using Visual Sound and disapproving all the other vendors. 11 days, that's right around the corner my dear. I am just curious what they have against DJ Julian and Doremixx. I guess because they both didn't agree to the resort's contract now they are banned from the resort. I am not sure what to do because DJ Julian was so great and responding and catering to our needs. Stresssing now

First they took away Doremixx and now DJ Julian, what else are they going to do next.

I am so pissed. I think the resort must be following this thread or else how would they know that DJ Julian was sub-contracting through Avi productions. I was soooo happy that we were able to work out this DJ issue and now this. I feel like the resort is doing everything in their power to control the whole music part. I don't even know what to do at this point, I am sooooo upset.

I would wait it out also. It seems like around December there's always some kind of specials going on.

Yeah I finally made it to Michaels, so many stuff, it's like a bridal candy store lol. Anywhoo, DJ Julian is not approved with the resort so you will have to ask the coordinator to us Avi Productions which is DJ Edgar. Once the coordinator is ok then you can email Avi productions and request DJ Julian to be your DJ. He is sub contracting through Avi so the coordinator does not know about this. Lily, The resort does not provide this. You will have to purchase the starfish and sash yourself. I saw the big starfish at Michael's the other day for $4 a piece. I think you can also order it online as well.

I am getting 25 of those lanterns. They will illunimate the deck and also gives you a romantic flair; I think it's worth it.
