  1. Everything looks great! We also included the starfish bottle opener in our OOT bags and our guests loved them!!
  2. You leave soon! You must be getting so excited! I hope you have a fabulous time, can't wait to hear about it when you get back!
  3. Those are the only restaurants other then the buffets. When we were there we seen a large group in the buffet and they were off to one side kind of on their own. As to the other restaurants I think any of them would be good for a dinner.
  4. I think that would be a great idea. Your wedding band would have so much more meaning then just being a wedding band. And it puts your promise ring to good use, rather then just sitting around collecting dust.
  5. I can't beleive they wouldn't have a restraurant for your dinner, and if they don't they can't make you pay the $2500 to rent the restaurant. The Palmyra is one of the buffets. How many guests are you having? I know sometimes if you are having a really large number of guests they make you have a private dinner.
  6. Welcome to this site! I had a lot of trouble with the wedding planners emailing me back during the beginning of the planning. However, I found as my wedding date came closer they responded faster. They do up to 3 weddings per day every day so thats busy for them. The prioritize the weddings that are immenent or soon up coming. I also found it helped it I didnt get a response in a few weeks to resend the email. She told me once that they get so many emails a day that often they don't receive them all because of the non reliable internet in Jamaica. Try resending your questions or look on here to see if you can find the answer. We didn't choose our package until probably 3 months before our wedding. We went with the free wedding and didn't have to pay anything until we were at the resort. I wanted to use parasols instead of flowers but I'm really glad I didn't. It is really super windy down by the gazebo and I'm afraid they probably wouldnt have worked with the wind. Instead we just took some pictures with them after the wedding and used bouquets during the wedding. Hope the helps!
  7. I think it is different depending on where you come from (what country). For us we were told we had to get copies of our drivers license notarized. We went to a lawyer, took like 5 minutes and $40. I would ask the wedding planners specifically what they want you to get notarized because it seems like most people get different answers on what to get notarized. I'm not to sure if they have a pressing service, I never used it if they did. My dress didn't have too many creases but my mom and dad hung it in their room right when we arrived until we got married. My mom put it in the bathroom with her the second day we were there while she was showering and it got a little steamed and the creases went completely away.
  8. Try looking at bridesmaid dress section of wedding stores. Usually those dresses are more simple and usually most come in white.
  9. We had candles on our table during our meal. They were provided by the resort as we didn't bring any of our own decorations.
  10. We chose a destination wedding for a few reasons. We both come from large families that are spread around the country so it was more budget friendly to do a destination wedding. We both wanted a destination wedding and knew our families were okay with it. We also wanted to have only a limited number of guests and keep it small and intimate verse a very large wedding, which we would have had if we had done it at home. Choosing the location for our wedding took a lot of time and research. We probably researched and emailed resorts for over a month before we finally selected our resort.
  11. who did you all use for the florist? did you go with the in house florist or taiflora? -We used the free flowers that were provided in the wedding package and just added on what we needed (extra bout and extra bouquet) To me flowers were not that important so I didn't really care what they looked like and I knew I definetly didn't want to pay money for them. Ioved my flowers that were included for free. what is there place settings like for dinner? do they provide chargers? etc? if someone has a sample pic I would love that - I think the place setting depends on which place your having your dinner. Here is what ours looked like for the grill. do they provide a menu for the dinner? -yes, the menu is the yellow paper in the picture above. I beleive they always print them on yellow unless you request a different color or bring your own paper. did anybody get married on the beach instead of the gazebo? where abouts is the beach site... looks like maybe behind the gazebo there is room there? -I knew there have been a few past brids who were married on the beach instead of the gazebo. The week we were there we seen a few weddings on the beach (all were just the bride and groom with no guests). The beach you get married on is just to the right of the gazebo.
  12. Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?
  13. Most people choose the Dolce because of the location and privacy but we really didn't care. My family comes from Alberta and is a meat and potato type of people so the Grill suit our food tastes better. We felt it was really private and I hope you have a great experience there because we loved the food, the waiters and the place. We didn't rent the gazebo after dinner. We had a pretty small group (18 in total). We had our dinner start at 630 and we were done probably about 9. We went from there to the pool side bar and hung out there until 11 when it closed. We were the only people around there so they played whatever music we asked and we danced and drank (way way to much!-shot after shot after shot!) We then went over to the disco from there. I was glad we didnt pay the money for the gazebo as we had way more fun at the pool side bar and the drinks were right at our finger tips instead of having to walk a fair distance to get drinks.
  14. They provided someone to play it. They just asked for our music (which I made two different CDs incase one didn't work) and gave them to them at our meeting. They had someone play it for us and we were able to pick up our CDs along with our decorations a day later. And in regards to the cake I know some people said they don't know what happened to their cake but we never had that problem. After we cut our cake and everyone had a peice they asked if we wanted it delivered to our room so when we returned from our night our cake was in our room. Made for a great late night snack! I would ask them if they could deliver the rest to your room so you can enjoy more of it!
  15. Congrats on booking your wedding! The chair covers are white and I highly recommend them. The chairs are ugly without them. In regards to chair ties I asked the wedding planners before our wedding and they said they have lots of different colors, but to be sure I just brought my own. The resort staff on our wedding day set them up for the ceremony and then transfered them to the reception site with no problems at all. If you are really set on a specific color I would probably bring your own so you arent disappointed that they dont have the exact color. We just had to confirm our final numbers once we met with the wedding planners. We were able to give them a rough estimate of how many but had a more exact number when we met with them for our pre wedding meeting. When I got married there was no fee for photographers so I can't offer you insight into the cost of that if its worth it. I can say that we were given 5 free photos from the onsite photographers as part of our package were not bad. They were not spectacular by any means and we had a hard time choosing 5. Others who have used the on site photographers say they have had better luck, maybe it depends on which one it is that you choose to take your photos.
  16. I have a single solitaire ering and I tried on tons of wedding bands until I found one I liked. I wanted something with diamonds to wear with it as I have to wear a plain band at work. Here is a couple pictures of them together.
  17. We gave them a cd. They had tons of speakers so you could hear the music everywhere. There were even days we could hear the wedding music on the balcony of the room. They have someone play the music for you.
  18. Check out http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/ They have lots of new and used dressed on there usually for a great price.
