  1. You are correct. Note, for the ceremony... the first 8 guest are included in your package price.
  2. They tell you it's at Coral Beach, however, referring to the map on their website the beach ceremonies are held on Las Brisas beach, far west side. If you go back to my review you will see the setup/location and read my experience with beach-goers.
  3. Your WC will send you a copy of your invoice before you head down and you pay at your initial meeting.
  4. Yes, they allowed us to configure the reception the way we wanted. Escort cards are the placecards that direct your guests where to sit. Our plan was for the guest to find them at a table at the entrance and then find their table, however, GP just put them on the table. Oh well, no biggie. And yes, it was discussed at the initial meeting.
  5. You don't have to choose the music if you don't want to, but they give you the option. We had specific/traditional songs that the Steel Drum Band played during the ceremony and then let them play whatever they wanted to before and after.
  6. We had escort cards. We gave the WC the setup of how we wanted the tables and who assigned where.
  7. Nope, everyone cut theirs off and got new ones the next day at the front desk. No1 had any issues with this.
  8. I second that! Even with travel cost and day passes, Rashel and her hair stylist were way cheaper! So happy I went with her!
  9. For our OOT bags, we left them at the lobby for the staff to distribute. When our guests checked it, the bag was there waiting for them. No complaints, everyone received their bag and everyone loved them! Advice for cups/mugs... make sure you get them with lids!! The water is pretty deep around the pool bar, so when you go "walking out" it was a definite must for a top! So happy ours had lids!
  10. Beautiful pictures kivon820!! Awww it just takes me back to my day at the GP! I want to go back!!!
  11. hdinsmor- When I filled out the music form, I was confused on the Kissing song as well. We changed the order of the ceremony, so that the Kiss and Recessional was at the same time (same song). We also decided to sign the documents after the ceremony. Just a thought! Your day is so close!!!!!!!! So excited for you!!! -Stephanie
  12. I finally received my pictures this week, all 860 of them!!!! LOL They posted a few on the website, though still waiting on the slideshow. www.wpajamaica.com You can find them on the main page, Stephanie & Brandon, but they are also under the Archives, August 2011. Enjoy!
  13. I'm happy to hear that things are going well with the new WC!!! Your day is sooo close!!! I'm so excited for you!!! P.S. My WC was Nekeisha Reid...
  14. Our photographer posted some pics on their website... www.wpajamaica.com Currently we're on the main page, Stephanie & Brandon, but you can also find it under the archives, August 2011. Enjoy!
  15. Welcome MzChoklat!!!! Can I just say having a destination wedding is your best decision ever?! LOL I'm sooooooooo happy we decided on a DW! It was absolutely amazing!!!!!
  16. We talked to Maria in Customer Relations the day before the dinner. She talked to the buffet manager and told him to expect the large group. The buffet opened at 630p, so we were there to secure the area we wanted, however we told everyone to come at 7p.
  17. Honestly, having the Welcome Dinner at the buffet isn't a bad idea. With a large group, dinner at one of the a la cartes will probably be 3 hours long (and that was with 8 people)! It's crazy I'm telling you! We had our own section with 44 people at the buffett and it was perfect! No other guest were even close to us. We had our own waiters as well. We gave our speeches and ate; we were probably there for 1.5-2 hrs and then just moved the party up to the Inifinity Bar. Come to think about it, I suggest the buffet over the a la cartes. You don't have to be "quiet"... hmm how can I describe. It's so much easier to walk around table to table and chit chat, whereas at the other places, you will feel like your "invading" other guests' dinner. Just a thought!!!!
  18. My suggestion is to work this out with your WC over the phone. Waiting to make a reservation for 20 people when your there will probably be impossible. Only VIP guests can make reservations and the times we tried, the most we could make was for 8 at a given time and it wasn't always on the day we wanted. Also, make sure she knows you're not doing the private option for the Welcome Dinner! You don't want to get dinged at the end. Trust me, having it at the buffet isn't a bad option. The buffets are HUGE and you will get the privacy you want without the hassle of waiting.
  19. Thanks ladies! I don't know what I would have done without this site, so I'm just hoping I can help someone as well. Plus, with the wedding over, I have nothing else to do except working on this --> LOL Quote: Originally Posted by hdinsmor I second that! 20. We did exactly what you are thinking of doing. Groomsmen and fathers wore linen (khaki) pants w/white button up shirts (fathers had short sleeves, GMs long sleeves). My husband had a linen (khaki) suit. All from JCPenny. Shoes.... GMs and Husband = Reef sandals, Fathers = huaraches
  21. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your beach reception is on the actual beach!! But to answer your question... the GP is kinda in the middle of nowhere. The town of Lucea is nearby, but when we drove through it to go to Negril, I didn't really see anything. Downtown Montego Bay is about 20 minutes away, so I'm thinking that might be your best bet. I just hope it doesn't come down to that! Though to try to calm you down... the beach BBQ setup was nice though! They took down the nets and had a lovely setup with white linen. Not sure of all the decorating they would do for a wedding reception though. The court is situated next to the pool and overlooks the beach (it is right next to the beach, but the beach is "below"... you have to go down stairs to get to it). What time is your wedding ceremony? How many guests?
  22. Update... We traveled down with the sand in the individual bottles in our carry-ons (in ziploc bags). No leakage. Came back in his parents' carry-on, no leakage. I know some are worried about the sand shifting... well we were pouring at the same time and just kind of made our own color of sand, so we didn't have to worry about shifting since we didn't have layers. Stoppers did their job! Bottles are fragile, so be careful packing! Love the etching, though unless you use dark color sand (which we didn't), it will be hard to see. Definitely recommend!
  23. You're welcome! So happy I can help! More pics should be coming soon! I get the professional pics in about a week! Yea!!
  24. Quick question... Did they say your reception will be on the actual beach? Just double check because they had a "beach BBQ" when I was there, but it was on the sand volleyball court which isn't on the beach. I don't want you to worry, but check!
