  1. Thanks for posting this especially since my dress is lace too. I wanted to trash it but as of today I went to TJ Maxx and picked up a nice white summer dress that could pass off as a nice beach wedding dress for $16! I figure I'd rather wear that instead than the hassle of my own dress in the sand etc. I'm still on board with the TTD, just not my gown itself lol.

Once I get my pics i will share with everyone......

  2. We hired Kevan Stewart from JA Weddings. Many brides raved about him on hear and so we decided to hire him. He's great with email responses and can work with you.

  3. We're going to use the steel drum band as I heard they are good. However, we are not using the resort dj as one of my girlfriends just got back from her wedding at the Suites and said he sucks. We booked an outside dj. Music is an important part of our wedding, so we can't have nonsense in between.

  4. Thanks Daisy. I figured if anything we would head to the beach resort as well for more privacy. Hopefully our photographer can do it really early in the morn. I want to be able to enjoy our day after wedding breakfast delivery to the room. What time was your breakfast delivered & what time was your TTD session?

If you have a good photographer, he/she can work around the people, chairs etc. I was worried about chairs and stuff when she was shooting but then you don't even notice it in the photos.

For the other bride who asked, my dress was Watters with a Lazaro sash. My TTD was BCBG which I got from ebay for less than $100.  I washed it on handwash cycle and it's as good as new even after being in the salt water. I may wear it again if we have a at home reception.

  5. Very nice pics Daisy!! Congrats! Question where did you do your TTD on the Iberostar property or off property? And also I loved that you & your hubby got to dance under the stars on the beach. Priceless!

I'm so sorry I have not posted my review yet. I am trying to finish an online course which is consuming my time right now.  Here is a link to my photographers blog in the meantime.  I will try to get the review up soon!

  6. Right now I'm in between where to have my TTD. If I we do it Negril two days after our wedding (actually 3), I would have to dress my dress with me. However if I do it the very next morning after the wedding, I could simply give my mom my dress to bring back home and go to my honeymoon dress free. My photographer's boss is telling me that Iberostar is big enough to take pictures, but my thing I don't want our guests seeing us, you know what I mean? I'd rather go off property somewhere. I took cut the wedding survival kit. I'm still doing the OOT bags but keeping it simple. How many guests are attending your wedding?

I am doing a TTD two days after the wedding from my honeymoon spot in Negril...I do not know where we are going..I am leaving that up to the photographer..but I told her what I was looking for and wanted.

I had to change a lot of stuff do to budget...so I am keeping it really simple..because at the end of the day...I am not going broke to make sure everyone else is having a good time.

NO OOT BAGS....this one really hurt the most...but it had to be done...plus I still can't get an accurate head count..and I am not going to try and track down 100+ grown adults that cant seem to respond to the invite or emails

  7. Repost!

For the past brides that who were married at the Suites and had a private reception, what types of stuff were done during the reception to keep your guests entertained and occupied? For example I've been to wedding where guests play games, or the bride and groom had dancers to entertain, to a little fire show. I'm just seeking ideas to fill the 4 hour window along with the dance with our mothers, the garter toss, cake cutting and typical dancing.

Also can anyone tell me what the "grill chicken supreme" dish served at Aunt Ruby's entails?

  8. BeachBride I've hired Rashel as my makeup artist and I'm considering hiring her hair stylist as well to do three hairstyles. Did you have the hair stylist only do your hair or did she style your bridesmaids hair as well?

  9. Very nice thread. Congrats on your wedding! You've inspired me to order starfish bouts. A friend of mine suggested it too but you're right why spend $10 per bout when I can simply get 3 starfishes for $10. I wish you had gotten married last summer, simply bc I would've seen your posting about your wedding dress and would've order mine for just as cheap instead of spending the amount that I did on mine. Nonetheless I will be a beautiful bride either way. Congrats to you again!!

  11. Hey MrsGreen..it's me Tiff. I say go for it. If your mom is offering to make your day special, then let her. It's also a special day for her too, because her baby, you are getting married! My mom is my heart too and she is walking me down the aisle. I have 3 older sisters and can you believe NOT one of them are attending my wedding?? Two of them live in the islands and one lives in NJ. I thought the one in NJ would at least attend to represent on behalf of my other 2 sisters. But as long as I have my mom, I'm happy. Yes I will be emotional on my wedding day because naturally I want my sisters there. But God will create a beautiful day for me, my husband to be along with our close family and friends. So girl live it up! Sucks re the guests that aren't attending your wedding, but you're going to be a beautiful bride either way marrying your hubby to be!

I am really lucky to have her and thankful for all of her help. I really would like the sit down reception, but I am not totally against her idea. I just want everyone to enjoy it. I am going to ask the coordinator about a reception on the beach. I will let you know what I find out.
