  1. Hey There, I got married Dec 2010 at Akumal beach and had a poolside reception at the Coba. We had the most amazing day! But it was expensive!!! They make it seem like you buy a wedding package and you have most things included...that is NOT the case! We purchased the most expensive package thinking it included quite a few things like my hairdo, the food, the alcohol etc but only the trial was included not the actual wedding day hairdo (don't get me started how scary 80's my hair was after the trial, omg! I cried! My cousin did my hair), the food was only included if you picked a restaurant (but they take away one of your 3 a la carte reservations for you and all of your guests), if you'd like to have a reception after you need to pay for alcohol per person and a DJ for sound equipment (we brought a bunch of detailed CD's and they kept scewing up the music)... We decided to go all out in the end! We had amazing flowers everywhere, we hired the mexican trio band, the mariachi band, the DJ etc! I'm hoping to post a review here soon One thing you all should know is that we are having a hell of a time getting our marriage certificate from Mexico! I recommend getting your marriage license in Canada and do a vow renewal in Mexico. It costs about $150 in Canada and it's about $600 in Mexico ($200 for getting your blood taken and about $400 for judge fees and translation fees).
  2. Omigosh....I'm freaking out!!! Eek!!! We just got engaged Aug 2nd, 2010 and our wedding is Dec 11th, 2010...I kept hearing how easy it was to plan a wedding in Mexico and the best deal we could get with our travel agent was December not March like we'd hoped...I'm new to this website so any help you all can give I'd greatly appreciate I'm going over the list and realizing how much I don't have done. In fact, I don't even get my dress until 2 weeks before the wedding and I ordered it a size too big...We're booked at the Gran Bahia Principe Coba are any of you ladies there? The wedding coordinator has been on holidays for the last month
  3. Hey Trisha! I'm getting married at the Gran Bahia Principe Coba in a couple of months and my wedding coordinator has been on vacation for the last month! Eeekkk! So freaked out! Can't get to your website to see your photos! I would love to see them! Please help if you can! Thanks so much Krista
  4. Your wedding was so beautiful and the pictures are lovely!!!! I saw them for the first time on Elizabeth Medina's blog and was blown away! They completely inspired me to get married in Mexico I'm so sad that she can't be my photographer as I just found out the resort we picked won't allow outside photographers : ( If we didn't have some much planned around that date and resort I would change it! Thank you for posting your slide show, it's amazing! I don't know you but I felt so touched by your pictures! Krista
