Hey ladies! We sent our save the dates last week, got our official confirmation email for November 10, 2012 a couple weeks ago! We have 17 people booked, so excited! =) Has anyone taken any of the tours, or looked into tour companies? I want to look into doing something fun & special for our wedding party while we're there and am just looking for suggestions!

Hey ladies! To the girls who emailed me about the pictures of La Romana please email me again & I'll send them! My email crashed so I lost the majority of my emails. Also, Kkimi88 - The beach gazebo is great, very private & across from the preferred club. When we were there 2 weeks ago the resort was 83% full and there was no one around that area. It is extremely private and a great place for a ceremony. The beach gazebo is on a patch of sand that holds 100 people seated comfortably - or you can do a cocktail hour there, etc. It is beautiful & private. The only down side I saw was the (although it is on the sand, and the ocean is on one side of the area) the "beach" gazebo faces the trees (so for pictures of your ceremony, the ocean will not be in them.) It is gorgeous anyway, though. I included a pic so you can see.

Hey ladies!! Just did our site visit and we were SOO happy with the resort! Its beautiful! The staff is amazing, and Jenny is completely fantastic! We also saw the ballrooms, having about 200 people at our wedding and a band so having it inside...they are beautiful!! The vendors that I was worried about are so polite and as soon as you say no thank you leave you alone. And there aren't that many around anyway! Here are some pictures of the resort for those of you who can't make a site visit - its even prettier than the pictures on the website show!! Thank you KCB! That helped alot, thats what I thought but some of the things that the WC said confused me a little bit. I wanted to get some of your opinions about the outside vendors that they allow on the resort. Did they bother you at all? I've read some reviews where people say they are AWFUL, and then others that say they aren't bad at all. I'm only concerned because I just don't want my guests to be constantly hounded and annoyed by these people - I want them to be happy. What are your thoughts? And yay! We go do our site-see on thursday!! So excited to see the resort!!

Hey ladies! For those of you who are well into planning/have already gotten married - what is the actual charge for a reception per person after the ones included in your package? I feel like I always get a different answer. I told them I wanted a 1 hr cocktail and a 4 hr reception & they told me at first that its $10/pp for cocktail hour open bar, $10/pp for cocktail hour food, then $25/pp for reception food and $10/pp for reception open bar. (of course without add-ons, just for the gold dinner menu). Is the open bar per hour or just per event? I'm just trying to create a budget and without the correct info I cant!! Did anyone else have a 4 hr reception? Was it extra? Thank you!!

Brendee - Also, Jet Blue has group discounts if you can get a good amount of people on one flight, you can go to their website and email them about it and they'll give you all the details. Jet Blue has been by far the cheapest and has the most direct flights into Punta Cana and Santo Domingo that I've seen so hopefully when they fly to La Romana it will be the same way! (and FYI they're not on any of the discount sites like Expedia, etc., - just something to know, bc I didn't find this out until about 2 weeks ago & like I said their flights are much better price-wise and direct-wise than I've found on any of the other sites!) Has anyone done buffets for their wedding dinner? Just wondering how they were and if you added any extras (or what extras there are to add). From the price sheet I got it says 1 app, 1 salad, 1 entree, and 1 dessert which is really not at all what I want to do - we definitely need more options than that. Also, when you did your site inspections did you do a tasting of the food? We go next Thursday and just wondering if thats an option. Thanks ladies!!

Brendee - Right now the flights into La Romana are more limited but in November of this year Jet Blue is going to start flying directly into La Romana, so that will increase the number of direct flights. Where are you located? I know in the NY/NJ area they are going to be direct flights from JFK to La Romana.

We are going to visit DLR in 3 weeks (July 14th!) for a long 3 day weekend to do our site see!! So excited! Anyone going to be there while we're visiting?? Once we do (I'm SURE we'll love it!!) we'll be putting a deposit on our date, so I'll be joining the 2012 brides - November 10th, 2012!! My travel agent is AMAZING by the way - she specializes in Destination Weddings - shes been doing it for ab 8 years - and is even a Dreams bride! (Tulum) We didnt know until after we started talking! She doesnt charge a fee for anything, shes paid by the resorts, and she seriously is like a travel agent/wedding planner in one. If anyone needs help with anything let me know and I'll be glad to give you her information!

Also, does anyone know what times the bars are open until? We have some drinkers in our crowd

We're booking our site-see for this July, and we're going to book our wedding for November 2012! So excited to visit!! Do any of you ladies have an opinion on wether we should stay in the regular units or the preferred club??

Thats great news about the chairs, thank you!! I'm flying to Dreams LR this july to do a site-see with my fiance. Its only going to be a 3 night trip...any suggestions about airports? I'm just concerned with any safety of the hour & a half bus ride from Punta Cana to La Romana. The flights to La Romana seem more expensive. And I've never heard anything ab santo domingo airport. Any ideas on what works best?? Thank you!!

Mrs. Williams - there is an option for free chairs? Did Dreams provide the white covers for them also for free? I don't mind bringing sashes from home, I only saw options for $15 or $8 pp/per chair. There are so many more fun options I would rather spend that money on!! And Dreams723 can you also send me the vendor that you're using? Thank you ladies!!

Hey ladies! All the pics from your weddings look gorgeous! I was just wondering if anyone knows if you can use an outside vendor for chairs? We have about 100 people who are going to attend the wedding and if we pay $15 a person thats $1500 for chairs which seems pretty expensive. How did it work out for you girls?

Hey ladies! Recently got engaged & am looking to have our wedding at Dreams La Romana! So excited! I was just wondering if anyone knows if you can bring your own band to play at the reception? Also, I was looking at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Punta Cana - does anyone know why La Romana's room rates are so much cheaper? I think their rates are amazing, I just want to make sure there isnt some specific reason that theyre lower. I know Punta Cana is a more popular destination. Excited to be part of this thread, ladies! I've read alot already and am getting some great ideas from you all! =)

Hey ladies! I've looked all through alot of the threads on here, and I cant find the answer to this one (ok a few!) question: I'm trying to decide on where to have my wedding, & a very important aspect of the resort is that there is at least one (preferably multiple) bar open until at least 2am. My friends are definitely a late night bunch, and I'd like it so that we dont have to leave the resort often. A great assortment of restaurants & a great pool and/or beach are important also. Lastly, a resort with receptions on the beach (I know almost all of them do them on the beach but I've found a few that dont!) Basically just want to have a blast for a week with our friends & family. Thanks to anyone that can offer a little insight, I'm a little overwhelmed trying to find the perfect resort, & I havent gotten responses to any of my emails to the wedding planners of the resorts yet, so you are my only hope for suggestions!
