I have a question, to bypass the outside vendor fee with the make up artist and the hair stylist, why can't you just get them a day pass? Would that work? Instead of coming through the wedding enterance why not come through like the rest of the people with day passes?

AHHHH!! We are about to book our AHR July 9th 2011. At a really modern chinese resturant so excited! There is going to be 12 courses plus cocktail hour! I want my guests to roll out of the place haha. Can't wait!

Are you glad you spent that money? Any suggestions outside of the normal stuff that they really enjoyed? Some people are only coming for a 3 or 4 day weekend, so I feel like some of the stuff won't be useful to them. Maybe it would be better to go with another type of gift...
We chose not to do OOT bags. We wanted to and think its a really nice idea, but its not in the budget. We are doing thank you gifts for the bridal party and an AHR.

anyways, its definitely way too late to make any changes to our wedding....but just wondering if others have experienced the doubts beforehand....
We only second guessed our self before we booked the Royal. We looked at So many other resorts, the Riu's, other Royals, Palaces, Dorado, Iberostar. But no one could beat the location. With its sister resort right next door and 5th ave across the street! We did look at a place like tensing pen, it was in Jamaica. You booked the whole place and it was just you and your guests. Which at first we thought was great! But then thinking of it, their are going to be times when you just want to be alone and get away from everyone and at a place like that you can't.

Basically, my Dad and a few others expressed deep concerns with going to Mexico. I understand this is silly, but they were really pushing it on me to re-think everything. I know what most of you are thinking, this YOUR wedding..which I agree with, but to not be sure if my father would be there and some of my closest friends was really difficult for me to handle. I didn't sleep for a few days, was super stressed out and just really freaking out about everything since we had some people booked, we were booked, photographer booked, etc. It took a while but we finally decided to change the location. This was a very difficult decision but it was really due to people dropping out and my worries that my own father would not be there. It's not always in my favor, but I am the type of person that likes to make othere people happy. I had already had some guilt with knowing that planning a destination wedding meant people who wanted to be there would spend a lot to go and then others would not be able to. I knew that I definitely still wanted to do a destination wedding, so we finally sat down and felt it was in everyone's best interest if we just changed everything to Aruba.
I have a lot of mixed feelings. I am sad that we will not be going to The Royal anymore because we were definitely looking forward to it, but I am happy about the new location. I found a great wedding planner who did my friend's wedding there and a beautiful location for the wedding. It is costing a little bit more than what we budgeted for Mexico but we knew that would happen. I am hoping that Kevin and I can go to the Royal PDC for our 1st. aniversary.
I just wanted to say that I still stalk this board! I have gotten so many wonderful ideas from you ladies and I love seeing all of your beautiful pictures and amazing details leading up to your wedding. I know all of you will have a gorgeous wedding there! I'm sad that I am not part of the Royal PDC bride family anymore
Even though I will still pop on here to see what all of you are up to, good luck with everything to all of you. This is a really wonderful group of ladies and I am so happy I could be a part of it.
With many happy marriage blessings,
Marisa
I'm really sorry to hear that you had to change your plans because of other people. I'm really happy it all worked out for you though. Origionally we were thinking about Aruba but it was over our budget. Hope you still check back in with us. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say we still want to hear how everything is going for you during your planning and of course seeing your pics!

Thanks everyone for posting about the transfers, I think we are going to go with cancun transfers. When we booked our trip my TA said transfers were taken care of and included but i know its not private and will probably take forever dropping other people off at different hotels. I just want to get in the car, truck, limo what ever be handed a drink and go straight there. haha
Prettypigpig the invitations came out great!
I am sending out formal invitations in the beginning of January, or when ever the FI finishes painting them!! GRRR taking a long time.
The bridal party and close family already booked so that was good.
Jlaurr?? - We booked the Gazebo patio for our private reception. We have a small party, the pictures look really nice when its all set up. PM me if you want me to send you pics of it.
We are also running an Ipod for the night. We are having an AHR and figured we'd spend the money on it then.
News to me!!... I didn't know you have to have 20 people to have a private reception! ? good to know
I also like the camcorder idea, I would recommend investing in a tri pod though. Theirs nothing worse than seeing your video and wanting to throw up from everything shaking too much.

YEAH ! I finally have people booked!!

hi girls, what were the names of the private transfer services everyone used for the airport?

Jess- I'm dying to read your review!

Welcome back Giraffexx, can't wait to read your review.
For Past Brides or people who have done site visits. Do you have any recommendations for specific room numbers? For the wedding we choose a master one bedroom oceanview. Has anyone stayed in one of those rooms that has pics?
-
OMG Lisa, everything looks amazing. Our rings are almost identical! Your itinerary booklet is awesome! I'm planning on basically having the same thing! Royal gazebo, almost the same times, rehersal at La Tortuga. LOVE IT!! Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back. Have a great time!

Ok ladies, I need help. What is or did everyone get their bridesmaids for gifts? I feel like I should get them something really nice because their all taking the trip down to Mexico for us. Last weekend was my sisters wedding and she got us personalized jewelery boxes that were $125 each! I don't think that's in our budget. She also only had 2 of us and I have 4 girls to buy for. What kind of gifts are you getting your bridal party?
-
AHHH JES, your now a MRS!!! Congratulations I'm sure everything went awesome! Can't wait to see your pics and hear all about it!
Lisa- That's too funny that you thought you saw it on web cam! LMFAO

Natalie- Welcome back! glad to hear everything was a hit! can't wait to see your review!
Ditto on that! As long as he doesn't setup anything - no charge. =) I love his work. JoZee - how much is he charging you for centerpieces? Are you putting them on the tables yourself?
hey, I didn't get my bill yet, I'm putting them on the tables myself, or asking a brides maid to do it. He said they will be ready to just be put on the tables. I also LOVE his work!

Thanks!

Wow Jes! You did an amazing job on everything! Your wedding is going to be so much fun and I'm sure everyone will appreciate all the hard work you put into everything. I can't wait till you get back to see your pictures. Congratulations!

Welcome Mike! They should have someone at the resort for you already. Depending on what day you get married you have to pay the $400. We opted for a wednesday to aviod it. But they should still have someone for you.
-
I think you should def do it! I think that if you really want it and dont' wind up having it, you'll regret it. Try Blue Lens. They gave me an AWESOME price for the day of and the TTD session which also includes them picking us up the day after and fees into the caves. If you email them talk to Enzo.

Also, I'm not using that person for makeup. I'm using Adrienne from Waves.
Can't believe there's only 39 days left! (screaming)!!!!

Jess- I am also having the girls walk in before me by them selves. He wants some support from his boys before I get up there. haha

Good to know, Thanks Lisa. Can you send his email to me please. I know his information was on here but probably like 300 pages back by now haha. He's 350 right? Is that the day of and trial?
