  1. Your photos are beautiful! Where did you and your guests stay while on the island?
  2. 1. Name: Kate 2. Where are you from: Boston 3. Where are you getting married in St Thomas: visiting Frenchman's reef next week, so far it's our #1 but we won't make a final decision until we see it in person. 4. When are you getting married: May 2011 5. who is you WC: TBD been interviewing destination wedding specialists. Â Any suggestions or advise for places to look at/consider while we are down there next week? I want all the activities to be in close proximity to each other.
  3. My fiance and I are going down August 30- Sept 2 and staying at frenchman's reef. So far that is our #1 choice but we have meetings with a few other hotels down there. I am working with a destination wedding specialist who has been absolutely amazing with setting everything up. I will be sure to report back everything I learn. Do you guys have any particular questions I may be able to find out for you? They might just help me out too!
  4. Where in St. Thomas are you ladies getting married? I am heading down the next week to scope out a few places. We are staying at Frenchman's reef, which is top on my list so far. any advise or suggestions?
  5. I am looking into having my wedding on st. thomas too. How are your wedding plans going? I just started working with a wedding coordinator who seems pretty great. I was first looking into the wyndham and I fell in love it. the only problem I had is that the beach is really far away (down 100 or so steep stairs). I am also looking into frenchmans reef, bolongo bay, and secret harbor. Any advise or suggestions? We will probably have to go down the end of august to check them out. Whats really funny is that if St. Thomas doesnt work out, my fall back plan is on the cape.
  6. Thanks for all the advise! I feel so welcomed! My Fiance and I are pretty set on getting married in St. Thomas. We are from Boston but our guests would be coming in from various parts of the east coast. I am starting grad school full time in September and I would like to have most of the details figured out beforehand. That leaves me with three weeks! We are not too concerned with the details of our wedding, but just having a memorable and enjoyable event with our guests. This is one of the reasons why I was looking into the beaches and sandals resorts- they do all the planning for you and you just pick out the theme, pay and enjoy. Unfortunately, there are only 2 beaches resorts (T&C and Jamaica) and I feel T&C would be rather pricey for some of our guests and I feel that's a lot to ask. Sandals Resorts are out of the picture since I have 3 flower girls and 2 ring bearers (I have to include all my nieces and nephews ages 2-5, they are too cute not too!) Does anyone have any advise or suggestions for resorts/hotels on St. Thomas for my wedding? I have been looking into the Wyndham Sugar Bay and Marriot Frenchman's Reef but I have heard some mediocre reviews about the beaches on that side of the island. Any help is much appreciated!!
  7. Hi Everyone, I am somewhat recently engaged (March). My fiance and I have decided on a destination wedding for May 2011. We are not so concerned with the wedding details, we really just want to have a small wedding consisting of close friends and family (approx. 50). We are looking into St. Thomas, Bahamas, and the Beaches resort in Turks & Caicos. That's as far as we've gotten. Does anyone have any advise? I am don't know where to begin and time is running out if I want to get married next May. Thanks!
