  1. It was a combo of both. I gave a list of what I wanted (eg. details rings, wedding dress, lots of family photos, group shot) but we also just ran it with too.
  2. sorry, forgot to answer the second question. The reception was private. It took place at Uncle Tony's restaurant
  3. Hi Ladies: My slide show from Misha Earle came in today. Enjoy http://mishaearle.myshowit.com/maria_ben
  4. No we were not charged to have him at the wedding ceremony, I was surprised when we were told we were getting a dj for the ceremony because in the documents they sent they only said they had a cd to play music, but you get an entire sound system with large speakers. I got married at the beach, not sure what happens at the suites
  5. Sorry don't have my pics yet, I'm hoping by the end of the month or early next month.
  6. the have a d.j to control the music. I created a cd with music. They ask that you include the music you want played while ppl wait for the ceremony to start, the song you want played when you walk down the aisle, while you sign the marriage certificate and after you are married
  7. I used Misha for my wedding and also for my "trash the dress" pics the next day. Misha was awesome to work with. Not sure what the other photographers include in their quote but Misha brought side shooter and a "flash" guy for the wedding ceremony. The "flash" guy followed us around to make sure that she had enough light for the pics. The side shooter took pics of the groom and his groomsmen while she did me and my bridesmaids. The side shooter also took pics of the cocktail party while Misha spent two hours taking pics of me and my husband. For the trash the dress, she brought her side shooter with her again, but did not bring the "flash" guy. Misha also covered the cost of the vendor fee and the day passes for each member of her group (this is included in her package).
  8. I hired Misha Earle to do my wedding photos and ttd session the following day and she was amazing to work with. All of our guests loved her and can't wait to see her pics which should be ready in the next couple of weeks. Misha is professional and fun to work with I highly recommend her.
  9. Hi IslandBride: Here is a picture of the huppa at the beach. "decorations" means the white material. I told Jodi Ann at Tai Flora that I wanted a floral centerpiece for the huppa and she knew exactly what to do.
  10. Hi Leslioni: Attached are the bouquets from Tai Flora that are included in the Iberostar Beach wedding package. These flowers did not go with my colour scheme so I upgraded, can provide pics of my flowers if you would like to see. tai flora bouquet2.pdf tai flora bouquet1.pdf tai flora bouquet3.pdf
  11. I really enjoyed being a beach bride. You get full use of the suite's services, spa and disco. You have full access to the suite's beach. Uncle Tony's was wonderful the food was delicious. I'm sure you can negotiate your way into taking pics at the suites if you want to take your pics there. I found that once you arrive they are a lot more flexible in bending the rules. The beach has the best "beach" location for the wedding ceremony. At the suites you are kind of plopped in the middle of the property at the beach it's off to the side at the end of the beach's property.
  12. There was a wedding everyday during the week of my wedding and I didn't have a conflict with any of the brides. I recommend letting you WC know as soon as possible what you want, so she can book it for you.
  13. The DVD is not polished production of the wedding, The videographer only has two days to edit the DVD, so there isn't much time to do a lot with it. However, I thoroughly enjoy my dvd because it's funny, the editing is a bit cheesy and there is a lot of raw footage. My friends and family found portions of the video very entertaining and got a few good laughs out of it. For example during the ceremony my two year old nephew who was the ring bearer decided when he got to the middle of the aisle that he no longer wanted to participate in the wedding and decided to run away. The videographer edited this in slow motion and it's hilarious. He also followed us while we took our professional pics, so there are some funny bits there too. The sound and music on the DVD is good, partially because I brought a CD with music I wanted played during the ceremony and reception which the videographer used during portions of the DVD. I decided to get the DVD at the very last minute as something to share with family and friends who could not attend the wedding. I'm glad I got it because it really captures the day completely. 14. you can also ask swap the menu items at the different restaurants. I did not like the dessert option for Uncle Tony's so I had them serve the desserts from the cajun restaurant.
  15. I gave my guests Anabella Boxes from Harmony Hall art gallery in Ocho Rios. The cover of the boxes have paintings from Jamaican artist laminated on them
  16. The chairs are navy blue with gold dots. They are the kind of chairs you would see at a hotel conference ( hope that helps). If you want chairs without covers tai flora can provide (chairs are on their website). They are $8/chair On aside Tai Flora doesn't do just flowers. They provide everything on their website candles, lanterns, chairs. I didn't want to bring a lot of things to Jamaica so I got my candles and lanterns from them
  17. The $800 is just to rent the restaurant. The cake is covered in $2000 wedding package. With an open international bar for 3hrs during the reception you're looking at $38 per person. No bar $18person. Wine and soft drinks are covered in the $800 flat rate
  18. I had the steel band for my cocktail party and they were fantastic
  19. the after party at the disco was super fun. i was a bit concerned before the wedding that we only got uncle tony's till 10:30, but that was a good time to end the reception, since most of our older guests began to leave before then. The younger crew headed to the disco for more partying. I had 63 guests
  20. The day before I got married Elizabeth arrived at the resort at 9am and did not go home till 11pm. She and her team stayed late to put stickers on my seating cards so that the wait staff knew what meal everyone had. I offered to do this, but Daniela told me no and to go and enjoy myself at the resort. Those two girls are the hard working girls.
  21. Hi Mrs Scuba: Our travel agent was able to hold a block of seats and rooms at a discounted group rate for us between October and Jan. Most guests didn't book till the last date. A handful of guests sought out their own deal.
  22. Hi Ladies: I got married at the Iberostar Rosehall Beach on May 10th. You can find some pics taken by my family and friends with the link below. Unfortunately I did not take any pics during the wedding so I'm still waiting for someone to send me pics from our reception at Uncle Tony's. The wedding was amazing, I could not have asked for anything more. the staff at the Iberostar Beach resort are wonderful and are eager and willing to accommodate any request. http://cid-992b53e65684d862.skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?page=play&resid=992B53E65684D862!138 I used all of the vendors from the resort (digipix for videographer, suites spa for hair and makeup, tai flora for the flowers, resort dj, resort steel band). The only outside vendor I used was Misha Earle, she was amazing to work with. Her pics will be ready next month, you can visit her website at http://www.mishaearlephotography.com/ for our wedding we did ceremony at 4pm, cocktail party from 5-7, dinner at uncle tony's from 7-10:30 and after party at mango walk. I will try to post my review sometime this week. For now I will say anyone getting married at the beach has nothing to worry about. The staff are amazing and really want you to relax and enjoy your stay at the hotel.
