  1. Jen_Matt, I think with the photographers it is a matter of style. I was having a hard time with this one too until we decided to hire Nathaniel Thompson. I did a lot of research and pretty much never heard anything bad about the photographer that Kelly picks. As far as bringing items down with us, I'm trying my best to pack as much as possible. I hate to sound cheap but if I can get it here for less, you betcha I'm packing it up and bringing it down with me.
  2. Thanks Carolina and everyone for the input on the DJ, it's really helpful. Even though my wedding is still a few months out, it's those kind of "little things" I want to cross off the list and not worry about at the last minute.
  3. I'm wondering if you hire the DJ, is it "rude" to give him/her an exact playlist of songs? My FI and I are both big on music and have a bunch of songs that we would be bummed if we didn't hear. Has anyone else done this?

    Our Monogram!

For some reason it looks a bit blurry when I uploaded it....just FYI. ;)
  5. Ok, some quick questions about customs.... What are the basic guidelines with customs and how strict are the agents with everything? I bought a couple of things and a while ago and did not even think the logistics of bringing them into Mexico and now I for the life of me can not find the flippin' receipts. I read somewhere that you are only allowed a certain amount of "items/product" with you. How did you ladies who have made the trip handle this? I'm glad I thought of this now rather than have that, "oh crap!" moment a month before we leave.
  6. awww that is nice same to you! Hi Andi! I sort of took some time off from wedding planning, just at least until the holidays are over. Then come next week, beginning of January, I'm back to my planning. I'm looking forward to getting in touch with Kelley again, just to touch base. If I have some simple questions and want to "tweek" my contract, is it too far out to contact her or should I wait a little bit until I start "bugging" her again? Hope you and everyone on here had a fabulous holiday and soon to be happy new year!
  7. I actually kind of (depending on one's opinion) lucked out. The store sample had only been there for a week and Diane said I was only the 3th to try it on...hopefully she wasn't stretching the truth. But actually, the dress is in perfect condition and they even offered to have it cleaned as a part of the cost of the dress even thought I inspected it forever and didn't find one spot, tear, rip, stain etc. She said that because the designer discontinues his line every two years, it was costing her too much to carry him....so the dress was an absolute steal! And the alterations I was quoted, aren't going to be too pricey either because there is not a whole lot to be done to it. It's (as cheesy as it sounds) like this dress was made for me. I'm really excited about it.
  8. Ok, so the dress is purchased as of today! I am so happy with it and wish I could wear it all the time. It is a La Sposa - Fragancia. I thought this would be a perfect beach wedding dress because it has so much to it and yet it is light weight.
  9. Â Hi Mary Beth! The planning is on track and going great...it really helps now that we have our photographer set up. I wanted to say thanks a million for adjusting your scheduled around so that I could work with Nathaniel too! I am so excited that all worked out. We sent our contract and retainer back to him yesterday so that is defiantly one less stress. Â When do you plan on going down to Puerto Vallarta for your site visit? That will be so nice to see it first hand and with your own eyes what everything will look like. Hope to see your pictures when you get back. I unfortunately can't make it down for a site visit before the "Big Day" but I feel very confidant that everything will work out. Â What resort are you staying at? That is the last on my "checklist" and I always love opinions on these types of things. Â Talk with you soon!
  10. Oh Girl, you know there is gonna be a TTD session! There is some weird part of me that giggles inside just thinking about jumping into the ocean or pool or whatever in this expensive dress! I'm dorky, but I love the "taboo" aspect of it I guess. Â Coffee? You know it. I would love to meet you in person!
