Maybe all of us that are down there at the same time can get a bonus group discount!? Are you thinking about purchasing the beverages from the resort...or going to a market to stock up?? I am still leaning towards the idea of just putting larger cups in the OOT bags and if we are only renting the gazebo for 2 hours...one or two trips to the bar can't be THAT bad??!!! Or can it??? Does anyone know if there are "clubs" or entertainment venues on the resort grounds? It might be kinda fun for those in our parties that like to party longer to head to one of those after the gazebo ordeal?!

If I get around to it tonight I'll try to scan it in and attach it for your girls to see. katelynn: Here is the contact info for our photographers...they did our engagement shots and they were so much fun to work with that we were kidding around with them about taking them to Jamaica and that's what we ended up doing! Tammy is the owner and she is awesome! Rae of Light Photography mekanabr: That price includes everything...we are basically giving them the amount and they are applying it where needed. Being as they have never done anything like this before, I think we are just helping eachother out...we get the photographer and they get the experience! Where did your TA get the brochures from? I would love to see something like that...I don't understand why it is so much harder to find info for this resort! It's driving me crazy! Thank goodness for this website and you ladies!

Hopefully we'll find out soon bc I love her work and reeaallyy want her to photograph our wedding!! Also- I haven't heard from Beverly since MAY! Has anyone else had any problems getting in contact with her I guess I might have to call down there but I wanted to check if anyone else was dealing with this too...Thanks! katelynn: The item is available online and not in-store; I have not physically seen the favors either, so maybe ordering them would be an option for you as well if that was the direction you wanted to go? I haven't a clue as to if they ship to Canada, or how much it would cost if they did. If I remember correctly (I spend far too much time on websites and forget half of what I see and where I see it) I think theknot.com had something similar, just not in the shell design?! mekanabr: Our photographers are charging us $2000 for their top package which includes our engagement session, a 40 page coffee table book, a 8x10 picture for our signature mat/wedding album and both Jamaica, a TTD session, and our AHR a month later. We are giving them the money and they are dividing up the costs accordingly. They have never done a destination wedding but I love the home pictures that they have taken at weddings but they mentioned that they were willing to give us a good deal to boost their portfolio and that they are able to write off a lot of the costs as a business expense. At GBP I read that someone had posted that you could go outside of the contracted vendor for flowers at no cost?? So we can go with someone other than TiaFloral?? They gave me a quote that was $3000 for flowers! I have since found silk bouquets on craigslist that we are going to use; but we are getting the "blissful love" package and that includes some decorations of the gazebo and mine and my FI flowers...anyone know how that works out changing it around?? I hadn't heard from Beverly in a few days...then I got a confusing email from her telling me to send her my date and desired time and she would inform me of the availability...my heart started pounding and I almost wet myself thinking that something had gone wrong....i sent her a clarification email immediately, waited a week, no response...resent the email and finally got a response that everything is still going as planned. She also informed me that once our accomodations are booked, we will need to put a 25% deposit down on the wedding package cost to keep the wedding date secured as planned; she attached the credit card info sheet...I attached it below in case any of you ladies have not received it.

Did you send out your formal invites yet, or just STDs? @AshleyL- love the favor ideas, might have to steal that I love hearing everyones ideas!! When is everyone doing their AHR? Right after the wedding or a little later on? We're still trying to figure out how to do it. Are you ladies sending out info about it with your invitations, or sending out seperate invites or it? We have the dillema of having super conservative family members on my FI's side of the fam, meanwhile my family likes a good beer and a fun time... So we are thinking that we might have to do a brunch with one side and then a fun BBQ for the other side of the family and friends...unless anyone has any ideas? Trying to figure out the AHR reception has been more stressful than planning the real wedding! lol. We are getting married May 7th and our AHR is June 18. We wanted to leave time to get over our post-Jamaica mourning as well as allow time to finish up any last minute changes/details. Also, our photographers who are coming with us to Jamaica are creating a photomontage presentation to show between dinner and dancing. There will be a lot of people who won't be able to make it to Jamaica and we thought it would be a nice touch to combine our Jamaica ceremony/TTD pics in with pictures from our childhoods and stuff. We are doing two seperate invites as we aren't inviting everyone to Jamaica either. I think I am still going to put the STDs for the AHR in with the Jamaica invites though...haven't totally decided. I know it goes against "etiquette" to send them out this early...but I really don't give a damn...i have a list of things to do and that is what I am doing...to hell with the timeline! We are doing one big reception too. My FI's family is reserved and my family...well, they are anything but reserved...but I am choosing to ignore that fact...I figure this way at least only half the people there will be racking up the bar bill! For favors at the AHR, we are doing plantable ones. I found them on the David's Bridal website...have since found them cheaper on theknot.com but they don't have the shell that David's does. It is a shell that is biodegradable; you plant the whole thing and it has seeds inside. It has a personalized card attached with raffia in the color of your choosing. Thought it was something unique and fairly reasonable priced...especially when they run their specials! Blooming Expressions Favor-Shell - David's Bridal

My Knight in Shining Armour!

Now that I read that back, it sounds kind of bad...I should mention that we met LEGALLY in a prison!! lol! We are both officers! MY BAD! -
I agree with the previous responses, it totally depends on the dress. I actually have 2 different dresses and they are both corset backs. I got 2 because I didn't want the cost of cleaning my "real" dress before our reception back home. Our photographer also really wants to do a "trash the dress" shoot and again, I didn't want to trash my "real" dress. So my fake dress will be used to change into after the ceremony and I will still be able to feel like a bride but not have to worry about what happens to it...and I'm definately not upset about getting to wear the other dress twice! But sorry...back to your question...the one dress the corset goes down back my butt so I am keeping the piece in; the other dress has an upper and a lower panel and I am only going to use the lower panel.

From the time that I was a little girl, I had always loved horses; so suitingly from the first time I saw Rogue, he immediately became the love of my life. He stood there that day, an absolutely stunning black and white paint horse, he was all the dreams of this little girl, put into reality. Fast forward two years; another stunning individual, in the form of a man, walked into my life and unexpectedly stole the other piece of my heart. A year and a half later, that man, filled in the last piece and turned the rest of this little girl’s dream into a reality. My FI and I met in prison; yes, in prison. I arrived at Minnesota Correctional Facility in October of 2006 for my 6 week training class to become an officer. During the fourth week of instruction, we had a class on self defense; this class was taught by no other than my handsome, now fiancee. ** I have to admit that I noticed him right away, being how good he looked in those windpants. He says he noticed me too; but there were only tow females in the class, so who wouldn't! We went through the proceedures on how to handcuff offenders and I began to tease my handcuffing partner on what she would have done if an offender grabbed her hand when she was cuffing him; this is where the "Macho Man" stepped in; he grabbed onto my wrist from behind and pushed my hand, palm up, towards my lower back. Unknown to him, I had 3 fractured bones in my wrist from a horseback riding incident, and my wrist made a loud cracking noise and I fell to the floor. A day later he saw the result of his "instruction", as my wrist was very swollen and a large bruise had appeared on the top of my hand. ** After a year and a half went by in a blink of an eye and we filled it with wonderful memories of being together, unbeknown to me, he began planning his proposal. He first asked both of my parents for their permission to have my hand in marriage. Also, knowing the importance of Rogue in my life, he knew that he wanted to include him in this meaningful occasion. He went into great detail devising a plan with the owner of the stable where we board. They created a story not only to get me out to the barn and assist with some chores, but also to bring the video camera so that a video could be filmed and put on the barn website to promote winter riding; all of these things I agreed to do. ** On December 5th, I went out to the barn and got our boys ready for that winter riding video; it was a beautiful, crisp winter day and the sun was just starting to set. With the camera taping, up the hill we rode, holding hands and laughing as we came into a clearer view. We stopped at the top of the hill and he began to get off of his horse; absolutely clueless, I exclaimed to him quietly “What are you doing?! She’s still filming!†He walked valiantly around the front of his horse, stepped up to Rogue and I, got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I, speechless and in tears, breathlessly nodded my head yes! I knew at that moment, that I had finally found my knight in shining armor.

(noone will remember them anyways lol) @katelynn: Beverly told me they aren't allowed to do bonfires on the beach unfortunately. We want to do something else for our guests too so instead of the typical 'rehearsal dinner' we are going to do sort of a welcome get together a day or two (depending when ppl are arriving) before the wedding. It's either going to be a snorkeling trip or a sunset catamaran cruise. It's something that we are budgeting for and I think we owe our guests something off the resort for speding the money to come to our wedding. Holy moly- $1000 for OT bags? What all did you include? WOW, your guests are very lucky!!! Are you using Vistaprint? You can get lots of free stuff custom printed on there that might save you some money! I would love to see pics of everyone's wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses!!!! I love seeing them!! Plus I can't look at the wedding dress thread on here anymore bc I waste entirely toooo much time looking at them, so a few won't be too bad!! lol! ok off to get some stuff done. Have a great night everyone!!! Hello Ladies, I have some clarification from Beverly on a couple of questions we all had. The chair covers are included up to the number of people allotted for your wedding package; after that, they charge their fee per chair. Sashes however are not included. If you choose to do the gazebo option and bar service, it is $15USD per person OVER the age of 13. We have a lot of non-drinkers going and I was wondering if we would still have to pay the fee for them, Beverly said there are non-alcoholic beverages in the bar service; I should have figured that being that it is an all-inclusive resort anyway, it's not like we are paying for the alcohol - more the service of the bartender! Lastly, I had read somewhere that someone had mentioned that they substituted the costs from not using a photographer and absorbed the cost elsewhere...she did not seem too open to doing this for us. We are bringing photographers so I asked if we could apply the package costs elsewhere ie: a discount off of the steel drum band, and she said that the most they could do was a bouquet or a centerpiece!? So that shoots that idea for us...thought we would maybe get lucky...anyone having other results? And OMG...I am curious as to what you are putting in your OOT bags too!! Are you giving them before hand? For the ladies having bridesmaid/groomsmen, are you giving them OOT bags too? We are already giving our wedding party gifts...so I am torn to whether to give them the bags too!?!? -

I wish I could find some pictures or something just to get ideas (if any of you have plz share? *smiles*). We will be having the steel drum band (FI really wants them) playing, and we're hiring a photographer (from Sungold) to shoot our wedding. As for chair decorations, I'll be bringing my own down I'm pretty sure. They're so cheap to buy. I'm a little behind you though when it comes to other things... no garments purchased. I'm going dress shopping on July 17th We've gotten 2 prices quotes and we finally found a travel agent that we like and she should have our final quote to us by tomorrow or Monday at the latest. Flights ARE available. We'll probably be flying through Air Canada Vacations and are hoping to get a rate somewhere near our initial quote of 1200 per person. It is CRAZY that we are all from different locations but all coming together through this kind of an event and helping eachother out!! I just received notification from our travel agent that prices for the airline are going to be $475; she is creating packages from there for everyone coming to meet their needs for taking off of work, etc. which is really nice! We are hoping that since we are not having a bachelor/bachelorette party before we go (our wedding party is all over the US) that we will have one once we all get down there. We are getting married on a Saturday and think that we will plan it for Thursday so there is a day of recovery before the wedding! In another of the GBP posts, they also said that the chair covers were included in the package?! What's the deal? I was also wondering from the other brides that have gotten married there, how is the beauty shop on grounds? I noticed included in one of the packages was a free practice style with the purchase of a style...any input?! I have not been in contact with Beverly at all as our TA has done it all thus far...I am thinking that I should maybe email her just to verify that everything that we are being told is happening, is ACTAULLY happening! -

Hello Ladies! OMG I am so happy to be finding this info from other people planning weddings at the GBP! The place looks so beautiful I was totally shocked that there wasn't any information about anyone having a wedding there! We will also be there the same time as a few of you as we have our date booked for May 7, 2011. I am thinking we are going to do a 3pm as to not run out of sunlight. We are bringing our own photographers as well but they told us to say that they were our relatives just to be safe so there wasn't any surprises once we got there. I have my dress, the bridesmaids dresses are ordered, we have the guys pants and shoes, just have to find their shirts. Our colors are tangerine and fuschia. Is anyone having something besides the CD playing during the ceremony? What about chair decorations? Are you renting those things down there or are you buying them and shipping them down? We haven't gotten our package prices for accomodations and airfare yet as our travel agent said the airfare wasn't available yet?!
