My ceremony is at 3pm, I figured by the time we got in a group shot and made our way to the terrace it would be close to 4pm. We are having our cocktail party from 4-5 with our guests and may be leaving shortly before it is over for photos. I don't think it is a big deal to have guests wait an hour or so...I agree with almost everyone else, that it is typical for there to be a certain amount of time between wedding and reception. Considering they are at a resort...they will certainly find something to do to kill the time.

Hi Ladies.. Â I have been so busy planning other wedding things - reception, gifts etc...that I completely forgot about the actual ceremony. Â I am getting married at DPC on Nov 19, 2010. I am just wondering what the actual ceremony looks like. We are getting married at 3pm, and signing the paperwork later with the judge. Â Is there a little speech that the WC says, goes through, are there vows - are they provided by the resort or some to pick from or do we right our own. Â I also wanted to do a sand ceremony - do I have to bring the vases and the sand or does the resort have the ability to provide this. Â If anyone is able to provide any info that would be wonderful. Hello Ladies!! Â I am gettting married on November 19, 2010 at Dreams Punta Cana. Â I think most of the things that I can plan at this point are done -wedding date and resort is booked, STD's are gone, invites gone, trip is booked, dress is purchased with shoes, wedding ceremony location and terrace for reception is booked. Â I have 25 people booked so far and expecting 15 more to book. I have started to purchase some things for the wedding and reception. I ordered hand fans for people to use during the ceremony and will have one placed on each chair. I have disposable camera's with a wedding/beach them on them for each of the guest tables and I am doing a beach bag with goodies for the wedding party and shot glass favors for guests. Â I do have a few questions if anyone can answer. Â I wanted to put some decoration or wrap the chair in something, roughly the same colour or shade as my bridesmaid's dresses. Does the resort have that type of thing, or do I need to bring it?? Â I am also wondering what to do about my hair...I know I will have to get it done there, but I have no idea what the hairdressers can do. Is it worth going through a trial run here at home and taking a lot of pics or just going and hoping for the best when I get there. Â Any help or suggestions would be wonderful.... Â Thanks Ladies!! I have a question about decorations. I want to stay somewhat simple and elegant. Does the resort (DPC) have decorations that I can use, do they have things in a variety of colours? My colour is blue, a dark navy blue. I would be willing to use several shades of blue for decorations.

Hello Ladies, Just wondering about the outdoor terraces. I read a while back when I was doing my reseach about resorts that you cannot have dancing and music on the outdoor terrances. I have been in contact with the WC at Dreams Punta Cana and she told me that all receptions are on outdoor terraces and they do the set up to allow for dancing. Is there anyone that has knowledge about this...can you have a full dance/reception after dinner on the outdoor terrace??

Hello Ladies... I am new and have been reading about DPC for a few days. I just got my wedding date booked and confirmed by the judge. We have a date of November 19, 2010. I am a bit worried about the time that the judge confirmed - 6:30pm. I am afraid that this will be late and we will be too dark for pictures. I have tried to search online what time the sunsets in Punta Cana in November and even though I have been to Puerto Plata a few times, I can't really remember. Anyone have any ideas if it will be dark at this time or if there is a way to have the ceremony earlier - say 4pm. I tried to email the MC (Deyanira) and she hasn't responded to any of my questions yet. She has only responded when I sent her my ID, or my credit card and authorization letter so far. Any advice would be great!!! I am starting to feel the pressure of starting to plan things a bit!!!
