  4. Thanks for brandy inspiring me and kicking starting the planning threads! After a couple hours of working on it mine is up and running! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/70919/teira-s-planning-thread-long-pic-heavy#post_1567883
  5. Wedding Day Accessories: Hair Flower ordered from etsy seller DK Designs Hawaii http://www.etsy.com/shop/dkdesignshawaii Bracelet bought from Nordstrom Shoes from Zappos Flip Flops from Nordstrom Grooms, dads & ring bearer Attire: We ordered FI’s attire from www.Studiosuits.com; we ordered him a Black linen suit with a vest also. We also ordered the dads & ring bearer tropical beige linen pants & vest. I am very pleased with their service and they are very quick at returning emails, even all the way from India. Flower Girl attire: Found this perfect dress at Target for $20! Such a steal, will be adding a fuchsia sash to match my dress.
  6. Finally it’s time for my planning thread! We leave in 16 days and it feels so surreal! Posting my planning thread is a little bittersweet because this is what we all wait for, it’s like our final to do but it also means that all the wedding planning is coming to an end. Like everybody I need to start of my thanking Tammy for this wonderful site! My wedding would not have come together nearly as well if it weren’t for this site. So many of my ideas and inspirations have come from here and all the great brides on here, so thank you all for sharing tips, tricks, ideas & pics. And a special shout out to my April 2011 Brides! I don’t even want to know where I’d be without you ladies. You have been so amazing and helpful with all things wedding related and even things that a non-wedding related. Here’s to all of our weddings coming up and then all of us moving on to our AHR planning after that! The Proposal: FI proposed first thing Christmas morning of 2009 with the most amazing ring! The Resort: We are staying at The Dreams Los Cabos. I stayed here a few years back with my best friend and we had the most amazing time ever. There were 2 or 3 weddings while we were there and they were stunning. I knew from that moment that I wanted to get married there. Once we got the ok from our parents we started the planning process. FI has never been on a tropical vacation so I cannot wait for him to be blown away by this resort and location. Ceremony Location: Beach Reception Location: Cascade Terrace Wedding Colors & Monograms: I knew that fuchsia was a must-have color in our wedding so after a lot of back and forth we finally decided on fuchsia & orange. I bought 5 monograms for $20 from etsy seller Jennifer Alison http://www.etsy.com/shop/jennjohnstondesigns?ref=pr_shop_more Boarding Pass STDs: Jennifer Alison also designed the digital file for our boarding pass STDs. I printed them on white metallic paper, and made my own ticket jacket for them out of orange metallic paper and then tied them with raffia. Passport Invitations: I made these myself with the help of the $10 template from www.AyleeBits.com. Honestly the best $10 spent! I got pretty much all of my inspiration and ideas from other brides on here so thank you for sharing yours. The passport cover was printed on Azalea metallic cardstock, the inside pages were printed on Opal metallic text paper, the RSVP envelopes were Flame metallic envelopes, the pocket folds were custom made on white metallic cardstock (Paper Zone), and the envelopes were Azalea Metallic. Here’s the link to my Passport Invitations thread http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/65502/teira-s-diy-passport-invitations-lots-of-pic OOT Bags: I have to say this I am most excited for the guests to get these when they check into their rooms. I’m sure none of them will be expecting them so it’s a great way to show how thankful we are to have them all travel to Mexico with us for our special day. I purchased the bags from www.cheaptotes.com , they are the $.99 canvas tote, and I created an iron on transfer that is personalized with each couple or individuals names rather than just plastering our names on everything. These bags are big and light weight I totally recommend them to anybody. Contents: Aveda Sun Care kit – Hair & Body wash, Protective Hair Veil Spray, & after sun hair masque Candle from Bath & Body works Hand Sanitizer from Bath & Body works Chapstick from Target Scratch off lottery tickets Playing Cards from Costco First Aid Kits from Dollar Tree Spanish for Dummies mini edition from Ebay Welcome Booklets: These were a total last minute decision but I am so happy with how they turned out and I know my guests will love them. I actually used the passport template from AyleeBits again for this but turned it to be a landscape instead of portrait. The information included is – welcome letter, resort map, guest arrival & departure information, wedding week events, resort restaurants, photoshare & pub crawl information. Here is the link to my Welcome Booklets thread http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/70754/teira-s-diy-welcome-booklet-with-pics Photography: I was lucky enough to come across Trisha Faber on this website (Tlseege)! I am so excited for her to do our photography the day of the wedding and also our TTD the next day. Flowers: I bought my real touch bouquet from another BDW Bride and I am in love with it! They are Stargaze lilies, orange gerbera daisies, & pink calla lilies. Our table centerpieces, corsages for the moms & boutonnieres will be based off of this bouquet. I have been working with Lola at Florenta Flower design, she has been amazing. She responds quick to emails, was great at working with my budget and is so nice! Cake: We’re doing a 2 tiered Tres Leches cake that will be white with fuchsia ribbon around it and pink stargazer lilies on top. This is from another bride who was married at Dreams Los Cabos and was my inspiration for our cake Reception Décor: We will have fuchsia & orange organza chair ties, fuchsia organza table overlays, orange organza table runners, fuchsia & orange votive candle holders, orange frames from etsy seller Nikkys Nifty that will have our table numbers in them. And also a pink frame from Nikkis Niftys (http://www.etsy.com/shop/nicolesuder) with our cake table sign and another one with our guest book sign. We’re also going to hang fuchsia & orange Chinese lanterns. Guest Book: I ordered a custom made guest book from Etsy shop Modern Shabby. http://www.etsy.com/people/ModernShabby Dress: I had the worst luck with dress shopping when I first started. Luckily I started a year before the wedding so I had some time to look. I ended up finding the perfect dress 7 hours away from my home. So I honestly feel that you will find the perfect dress when & where you least expect it. I’ll be wearing the fuchsia sash for the reception. Hair Inspiration:
  7. Good morning ladies ....or good afternoon to some of you Who are you having give toasts at your wedding? We dont have a wedding party so i know normally the best man & maid of honor would but since we dont have them who does the toats? And do parents give toasts also?
  8. Meggers - i totally noticed the spacing and also the "th" on 13, too funny! Im so OCD about things like that ... I have a notebook i keep in my purse and jot down wedding ideas, reminders, etc. and as soon as a page starts to look sloppy i totally re-write the whole thing so its as neat as possible... Brandy - Ive been working on my planning thread, hoping to get it up next week! I just have a few more projects im finishing before - ring bearer pillow, flower girl pail & "i do" letters for cake table .... ooo and hoping my guestbook i ordered off Etsy gets here soon too! It feels so surreal that its actually time for us all to get ready to leave for our weddings! If i dont get a chance to say it individually to you all i hope you all have the most amazing wedding weeks ever and i cannot wait to see pictures and hear all about it ! And thank you all for keeping me sane through this whole process!
  9. First of all ... can i come to your wedding?! Honestly i wouldnt expect anything less than an amazing planning thread from you! 11. We're April 7th and Victoria (kiwibride) is the 11th ( hoping we'll be able to meet up at the resort for a drink )
  12. Ps your hair is gorgeous! Are those your extensions?!
  13. Damn meggers! Those are hot! Your FI is going to die! Can't wait to see the rest
  14. Meggers- glad to hear it went so well! Can't wait to see your pictures! I totally agree if anybody is even considering doing one to DO IT! Sooo worth it!
  15. Thanks everybody! I hope the guests love them too! X-chan- I used metallic cover weight paper in stardreM Flame for the cover and I used text weight metallic paper in stardream opal (I think?) for the inside pages. I did take them to kinkos toget them printed since I needed a laser printer. I think it only cost me $20 for all of it and I already had the paper from other diy projects
  16. Thanks mocha! They were a total last minute decision about a week ago! Im pretty pleased with them other than after i posted them i realized a few things i would have changed on the "wedding week event" page, i put 7:00pm for some things and just 7pm for a couple, hopefully none of my guests will even notice tho
  17. i need to get my mac pro card asap! ive been meaning to for the past 2 years, it would save me so much money! I got my lingerie at lane bryant (bc i have a pretty large chest that most typical lingerie lines dont fit), target and also found this awesome site www.glamorose.com that has tons and tons of cute stuff with really decent prices and i believe it was free shipping over $60! For props i really wanted to take one or two of my FI guns with me to take sexy bad ass pictures with because guns are his passion but i wasnt sure how the photog would feel when i whipped out a couple guns and I would have been nervous to sneak them out of the house. Someday i'll do hot pictures with his guns for him though. And pink it totally my signature color too but i went with the blue shoes for the wedding look as my something blue. I have pink heels for the wedding tho Cant wait to hear about your experience with Bella Femme!
  18. Just finished my welcome booklets! Glad to have that checked off my to do list! and also just finished putting tgether my place cards now just need to tie them to the starfish with raffia, not sure if i should do that before we go or once we get down there? I dont want them to get ruined while traveling so im thinking once we get down there tie it all together.... heres the link to my welcome booklet thread http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/70754/teira-s-diy-welcome-booklet-with-pics#post_1564780 ... after i posted the pics i realized a couple typos i would have changed if i would have taken the time to proof read it better but oh well too late now
  19. About a week ago i was just browing around the forums and came across Mandy's welcome booklet and it totally inspired me so i have to say i got most of my ideas from her! I had only planned on doing a welcome letter and photoshare card but this is what i came up with instead.... I used my passport template from Aylee bits but turned everything sideways so it wouldnt look just like the passport invitations i did...
  20. Laura- I just died again at the fact that you have never been to one! You're going to love it!
  21. No target in Canada?! I would die! Target is my absolute favorite store of all time!
  22. Oh and p.s. I have the "Emily" cover up in the teal color and LOVE it! Can't wait to wear it at the resort!
  23. Thanks everybody! I ordered the frames from an etsy seller nikkisniffy, she was so awesome to work with. She didn't have the color of pink I wanted so she went on a hunt for it and they came out perfect! She has pretty much every color there is and has different sizes too. Mine are 5.5 x 5. They aren't lightweight but they aren't super heavy either. I ordered 6- 3 pink an 3 orange but I think I'll only end up taking 4 or 5 down with me. As for how close my date it... I'm starting to freak out a bit! We leaves 3 weeks from today and I'm stressing out. Almost all of my projects are done though so that's a relief. My main thing I still need to do is get all pf our wedding paperwork to my WC. And after trying my dress on again last yesterday for my friend ive decided I need more alterations so that has me stressed bc the lady who did my original alterations is 7 hrs away and I don't have time for a trip like that so I'm searching for somebody local thatcan do it quickly at a good price and do a good job. I was really bad about procrastinating ordering suits from studiosuits.com but had contacted them before I placed the order to make sure they would be here at least a week and a half before we leave andthey said that would be no problem. Then I get an email this morning saying that they forgot to make the pants with satin lining in them and if thats ok? But I'm worried since they are beige they will be too sheet without lining so I emailed back saying they need it and I still need to have them by next Wednesday. So I'm waiting to hear back to make sure they can make it happen. Ahh ok I feel 10x better after getting all that out. Deep breaths and baby steps!
