I have decided to go with Calabesh and since I also have 35 people, I will sit them all in a U shape as you did If you didn't have the option of playing your own music, how did you do your first dance and dance with father?   3. I really want to hire the Steel Drum Band but I cannot decide when I want them to play. Should I get them to play during the ceremony or reception? Any thoughts?

  6. Hi Cam, How did you like Calabash? I'm having a really hard time deciding between Aunt Ruby's and Calabash. I have a few vegetarians so I hope that there will be options for them. Why didn't they make you rent out the restaurant? Did you not have a DJ or anyone making speeches? I thought that if you had music or speeches, you were forced to rent it out? How many guests did you have? Sorry for so many questions Chanelle

  8. Islandgirl, I've learned the hard way that you can't try to please everyone. This is YOUR day so go wherever it is that you want to go! Try not to stress too much about everyone's opinions. Just do what makes you and your fiance happy
  9. Hi DeAngelis, Do you know if there is a bar near Aunt Ruby's or Cabaresh? I can't decide between these 2 for my reception. Also, were you there on a Monday? Do you know what the Suites Nightclub is like on a Monday night? I was thinking of moving my party to the club but I want to make sure that it's good on a Monday. Thanks for any information that you can provide
  10. I like that idea starrysim. I think that I'll do the same I know It doesn't make any sense to be charging us for open bar considering it's an all-inclusive resort. I have seen other people say that they didn't pay for the open bar for various functions that were close to the resort bars, and the guests just got drinks for themselves from the bar. We're planning to do our ceremony on the lobby balcony - as I understand it there is a bar just inside, so that will be perfect for the post-ceremony cocktail hour. We haven't decided where we're going the dinner, but we'll probably end up getting a few hours of open bar there, which I'm not too happy about. It's charged per hour, too! I probably won't commit to it ahead of time, I'll decide once we're there an I can see the set-up and layout of everything, and maybe try to get them to include it for free.
  11. Thanks for your response Starrysim So, if you don't pay this $7 or $10/hr, only wine and beer would be available? If I choose aunt ruby's for my reception? Is there a bar near there? I have not done a site visit so it is difficult for me to have a mental image of where everything is.

  15. I am having some trouble deciding on times for Ceremony, reception etc... I want to take pics when the sun is still out as well as when it is setting. How long does the ceremony generally last? If I do: Ceremony 1530, pics from 1630-1830 (while guests are having cocktails) and Reception 1900-2300 and then everyone goes to Club. Any thoughts? Will this work?
  16. I was wondering if anyone has been the the IRHS club on a Monday? My wedding is Monday May 9th and I wanted to plan to go to the club after the reception but am not sure how happening it will be on a Monday. I know that many of you brides have said that you went on a Saturday and had a great time. Any suggestions or advice is appreciated

  22. Hi all, I really want to do a group excursion to thank all my guests for coming. I'm really not sure what to do though. I looked into glistening waters but they were really rude on the phone so I'm not sure that I want to go there. Any other suggestions?
