  1. Hey ladies- Kayak.com usually has the best rates for flights - it's a search engine and does not add on any additional costs. Watch the airlines baggage fees though. That could make a huge difference in who you book.

  3. @VOLOSIKJ- Thanks for the info! It makes me feel relieved that Veronica is someone who is organized and great to work with! I do sometimes feel overwhelmed with what some of the brides are saying they are doing for their weddings ( like the DIY's). We wanted a destination wedding to get AWAY from all of the stress of these things. I am bringing some decor, but very minimal. Good luck with EVERYTHING on Saturday and I can't wait to hear your review and see your pics! Brooke

I have a question for any of the brides who were already married at the DRC - A lot of brides are stating they are leaving decor at the site for other brides to use, were you able to access these decorations, and if so, were they free of charge? I'm just interested in seeing if the resort makes a profit off of it. Thanks!

  6. FUTURE MRS S.- We are having our ceremony under the Gazebo, the cocktail hour on the Desires Terrace (with the Caribbean trio) , and the 3 hr reception on the pool deck. I started with my original coordinator and the agreement back in January 2010 so it's pretty much down pat. We picked the Caribbean buffet but she stated we can pick and choose what we want when we get down there. I haven't picked the flowers/ center pieces yet. Veronica said I can do that about 2 months out. The only extra's I'm bringing down are aqua sashes for the chairs, aqua faux diamonds for the tables, and flameless candles for the tables also. I just feel that being in paradise is going to be decoration itself. I do not know if the Chuppah is included. Im sure one of the brides on here can answer that! I hear that when it gets closer to the date you want to email a list of questions to your coordinator all at once and they will answer all of them. Make sure you print out your emails and take them with you. ~Future Mrs Moran
  7. Glad to meet another June bride! We are staying through the 23rd so we may run into eachother! Who is your coordinator? We are using Veronica now ( 3rd one) - How many people are you having down?
  8. OMG!! I can't believe you are a day before us! How many people are you having down? We were thinking we would have about 40-50 but it turns out a lot of people that "say" they were going to go weren't able to so I'm thinking its now 30-35 which is still a good group. Most of us are flying in on Weds the 15th. Who is your coordinator? Our NEW coordinator is Veronica- (this is the 3rd one) So hopefully she sticks around! We're having the wedding at the Gazebo at 530, cocktail hr on the Desires Terrace at 630, and the reception on the deck from 730-1030. We chose to just do an IPOD wedding with the technician - Im pretty picky about my music LOL
  9. That Chuppah is beautiful! I love the colors! Is anyone getting married in June 2011? I haven't seen any June brides post on here yet! Our wedding date is June 18, 2011 - less than 6 mths away!!
  10. Ladies- When you get to the resort, and they want you to pay for the wedding, what is the best currency to use? Credit Card, Travelers checks...etc. It seems ridiculous to bring a lot of cash to Mexico. I have also heard that AAA has a travelers check CARD which you load... Has anyone ever used this?

  12. @BARBIEBRIDE24- I sent my invites out back in October so everyone has time to save and make arrangements- we blocked off some of the plunge pool rooms in 1000 for everyone. You can have your wedding by the pool OR on the pool deck- i hear they have lights wrapped around the trees and that there is plenty enough light but I am looking into getting the paper lanterns for an extra 180.00- Where are you guys coming from? I also hear that they have some decor around the buffet that is nice. Your little girl is going to have a blast! They have a really cool kids center with lots to do. I wish our nephew and niece could come but they are staying in Pittsburgh...
  13. My new coordinator for the wedding (3rd time) is Veronica but Claudia is in charge of our rooms. We are having the wedding at the Gazebo, cocktail hour on the Desires Terrace, and the reception on the Pool Deck. How many people are you having? We have (hopefully) around 35-40 if everyone commits- Its so hard to know - everyone wants to book at the last minute! We're a pretty rowdy bunch so hopefully the resort will be ready for us! lol

  15. Does anyone have the pricing for the paper lanterns on rods from Deco Cancun? I emailed them a couple of days ago and never got a response yet. They look so nice on the deck of some of the brides reception pics! I would love to get a list on pricing for EVERYTHING from them. Also, I bought aqua sashes for the white chairs we are using at the Gazebo, Does anyone know if they use the same chairs for the reception or should I buy more sashes?

  18. wow! thats exciting! If you could get pics of the deck/pool area/and Desires terrace that would be so great! You should ask the coordinator if they keep all of the decor that the past brides have left and can we use it free of charge? Have a great time!
  19. I also had Maggie after Ana had left. This is disappointing that she is also leaving. I wonder who they will stick us with now? Our wedding is not until June 18, 2011 and I hope this next coordinator will actually stay for the long haul. I am just counting on the agreement that Ana had made on paper with me to follow through to the end. Does anyone know WHY she's leaving? My coordinator and I did not even get an email yet from Dreams regarding this....

  21. Does anyone know if we get our complimentary Waterford champagne flutes before the reception? It states on the website how we get this gift and can use it for our first drink as wife/husband etc... BUT back in a post from last year the bride said she didn't get her flutes until she came home and they shipped them. It would be nice to use them there!

It's so hard planning when you haven't been to the site. We're getting married in June _ I think I want to have the cocktail hour on the Desires terrace. I heard that is pretty private.
