  1. Love the dress. Great choice. I looked at Bari Jay for junior bridesmaids and I loved their bridesmaids versions but for juniors they were not what I was envisioning. It's hard to find things for kids if they are in the "tween" stage. Your bridesmaids are going to love you for those...very chic.

I'll keep the bracelets for them while they're young and add charms for other special occasions, too. Big question: I have one son who's five. Any ideas on what I could give him that would be special and keepsake worthy like the girls' charm bracelets? I just don't see him wearing jewelry and I can't think of anything special for him... So glad to see this thread. I, too have a son, he is going to be 8 when we get married and I'm wondering what to give him since my FI has 3 daughters and girls are easy with jewelry. I'm having all 3 girls as junior bridesmaids, my son is going to walk me down the aisle (since this is my second wedding) and they will stand up there with us and do a sand ceremony. We are going to incorporate them into the vows as well. Our family will be the only wedding party.
  3. With the Dreams of Love package, a musical trio is included for 45 or 50 minutes. We are planning to ask the trio to setup next to the beach bar and that will be our Cocktail reception between the wedding and dinner. I agree, no reason to setup a special bar for an hour when there is one right there already included in the room rate. Hey, gotta cut cost somewhere.

Love the resort but am concerned about the lack of a response from Ana. It appears to be a common problem based on past posts. I just want her to acknowledge my existence--everything else is already planned because my contract and deposit transferred directly from Secrets since the two are related resorts. Has anyone found an effective way to get her to respond? I've written emails to her in both English and Spanish at multiple email addresses but she only appears to respond through my destinationwedding agent... You may want to try emailing Yazmin. She reached out and emailed me first and she responds fairly quickly (within a week) so far. I have read through many posts here that Ana will be more responsive the closer it gets to your wedding date. Just take the time to read through here, I have really learned a lot just through the posts. Everyone is very friendly and open to share ideas and experiences. Congrats on selecting Dreams. I am getting more excited by the day!

Would you mind sending the script to me at [email protected]? Thanks you!!! :-)

And what about your GRAND ENTRANCE?? Without a DJ then, who will announce you? Others have said... they will have the regular reception and then just music for the last hour-- does this mean no alcohol? I am just a little confused Thanks!! I didn't think of that! I thought about having an ipod for music during dinner (i'm using the sound system for the ceremony) but that is a good point about the announcement of the couple. I really want that to be a big thing and then our first dance....hmmm. Have any of you ladies who have had your wedding already been announced before dinner or did you wait until after?

I sent Ana a picture of the exact setup I wanted and she said she could do it. I also wanted flowers in the sand on the beach and then a pink and orange decor for the four post thingy they put in on the beach. We are having 39 people coming with us so it isn't too huge but not tiny either. I haven't decided anything for the tables for dinner yet though. I am still thinking of what to do for that. I want something really elegant. I think I will do hurricane vases with flowers and candles in them. Something simple but pretty. The price of our wedding just keeps going up... We are not doing anything once we get home so this will be it for us. What are you doing?? Are you bringing your own orange and pink decor for the four post thing on the beach? I want to incorporate purple in mine with white and wasn't sure if we have to provide our own if it's a different color other than white. As for the petals, I have read on here that many people go to the walmart or sams in playa and some small mexican groceries to pick up live flowers (MUCH cheaper) and pull the petals from the those the day of or before. I think that is what I'm going to do. Of course, you have to hope they will have the colors you want but at least you can cut costs that way.

Just thinking about how hot it's going to be I can't imagine having to carry around 20 lbs of dress too! I'm so happy I found mine. It's simple lace, really light, and extremely flattering and beautiful. Do you have a picture? I didn't even think about that, the heaviness of it..hmmm.

I have been looking on websites and looking for designers and after seeing yours I'm definitely including this in my list of prospects. Beautiful!!!!
  11. Hmmm, maybe I need to check with my TA again. She said the room rates were confirmed, but the pricing on the wedding package may still have some variability. Sounds like other people have the info, so I just need to ask again. Thanks everyone.

I'm new to this site and of course frustrated that I can't see attachments yet! :-) Thank you!!!

  15. There are both a Wal-Mart and Sam's in Playa Centro. Sam's is actually right off the main highway, but Wal-Mart is a ways into town and you will definitly need a map. For flowers, I would suggest you start at Wal-Mart. There are a couple other large Mexican grocery stores that may have options, but I am not as familiar with those.
  16. Alright, my fiancee and I have a date ... Feb 20, 2011. Now I just have to get through the 306 pages of information on this forum to make sure we make the best decisions. No pressure.
  17. Hi Jenn, I'm Rachel and I just joined too. I'm planning on getting married next year just not sure of the date. I'm actually heading to Riviera Maya in May to check out a few places. Are you using a travel agent or have you talked to any of the resorts via email? I have to do something family friendly since we have kids going. Many of the adults only places are really nice if you don't have kids that will attend.
  18. Hi Meagan! I'm new too and trying to figure out where to have my wedding in Jan (hopefully the 15th) 2011 (if I can get that date). I'm already stressing over the budget too. I am headed to Mexico on the 14th of May to do site visits. Are you going to or have you done site visits yet?
  19. Hello Ladies!!! Congrats to everyone! I just joined this site and I am so excited to have the chance to chat with all of you. I am heading to Mexico on May 14th and going to do a few site visits. I am looking closely at Dreams Riviera Cancun and Azul Sensatori...crossing my fingers that I can make a decision by the time my trip is over!
