  1. Does anyone have email addresses for babyonline or Monicabridal? I can't seem to find them when I google it. Even the DHgate site won't work for me. Anyone else having this problem?
  2. My dress is here!! I love it! It fits like a glove! I am so happy with Gaininer. I will try to take a picture of it soon and post it here. Everyone here has been of such great help! Thanks! I should also mention, they shipped with DHL. It took only about 4 work days to get here. But they charged me $21 when delivered it. The dress/shipping cost was right around $160 plus the $21 fee.
  3. Thanks for all the advice! I feel much better about the dress now. I can see the similarity in fabric between the two dresses. I asked them to remove the flowers, add the ribbon and add clasps to the back so that I can attach the train to the back to make it shorter. They said it would take 2 days to do the alterations. I can't wait to see it! Bonnie - I love the pink dress you got!!
  4. Help! Dissapointed with dress pictures. Any advice is appreciated! Garniner sent me pictures of my dress yesterday. It is different material than the original. I think what I like best about the original dress pictures is the look of the soft satin material (see last 3 pics). In the Garniner dress, it looks like they put a sheer material over the entire dress (see first few pics). I don't know much about dress making, but would there be the satin material underneath the sheer stuff?? I'm wondering if they can just remove the outer sheer material. It looks like they attached the lace detail on the bottom to the sheer material, so I would have to get them to do that to the satin part. I really like the matte satin that they used for chris' dress (pg 205). Chris - did it take them long to remake your dress in a different material? Also, did they charge you less for the second dress? I am also wondering if I get them to remake it, if I should buy both, just in case. I am starting to get in a time crunch. We leave on January 12th. I would also get them to remove the ruffle just under the waist (I don't think it turned out right). And add the ribbon to the seam under the bust and waist/hip area. So...I think my options are to either: -get them to remove sheer material, and hope for a beautiful dress underneath, or -get them to remake the dress - as long as they could do it within a week or so, or -should I take it as it is, see how it looks on me, and get a seamstress to make any changes needed. Bonnie - I'm hoping to get your advice, too! I am also, wondering if I am wrong about the material and if the original dress has the sheer over top and maybe I don't notice it because it's so fitted?? Below, is the Garniner dress And here is the original. (you can get a good look at the material in this picture below)
  5. Did you have to put in a promo code to get the 3rd one free? I couldn't see the promo anywhere.
  6. I just ordered my dress through Gianinar! They said it would take 30-40 days to arrive and that they woud send pictures when they finish it. I let them know that I would like to pay through paypal. Do you pay for it right away or do you wait until it is shipped??
  7. Me again I found my dress design on Gianinar.com..YAY!!! ... but It looks a little different from the dress I really want. I think the only difference is that it is not done in satin. I emailed them and they gave me a quote of $140 shipping included for that design but made in satin. My question is...do you think I will get the dress from the (last) pictures by just saying change the fabric to satin?? I will also send them the pictures of how I want it to look. For those who have bought from Gianinar, how long did it take for them to complete the dress/send pictures? Thanks again for the help! The above pictures are of the design I have been wanting, but I don't really like the look of it. Hopefully, it is just because of the material, and maybe because its not fitted enough on the manequin. And here is my dream dress... Based on this last picture, what material would I ask them to use under the dress? Is it just satin (with lace sections) and then underneath is it tulle
  8. Beautiful dress Lisa! I love the details! I think they did a great job on the beadwork.
  9. Wow, looks great Seb! I don't know what you would change on it. How do you order from Gaininer? Are they on DHGate as well?? I'm still trying to decide if I should order from them or from Monica Bridal.
  10. I searched overstock.com for them. I put in "LED lights" but I couldn't find anything like what you purchased. Do you remember what you typed in to find them?
  11. I was wondering the same thing (about the bunching/train). I do like the train, so maybe I just won't say anything about modifying the bunching and request it just how it is in the picture. I did alot of searching around on the internet to find the dress or the person in it and came up with nothing. I wrote "seam" to describe the small ribbon part - is that the correct term? Thanks so much for your help Ginger!!
  12. Okay ladies, I need your help again...please:) I don't really know dress lingo, so I don't know if I have described the dress correctly. I wanted to point out all the different parts so they make it just like the pictures. Do you think the ruffles at the hip area looks good or should I omit it and have it smooth? What do you call the draping/bunching part?? Do you think I should have the back just like the picture or should I omit that draping part? I'm not sure what would look best. Do you think Monica Bridal could do this? Lisadias - I hope are pleasantly suprised once you get your dress on! Can't wait to see it! Thanks for the help!!
  13. That's a beautiful dress Ginger! I was also thinking about getting that one. I like the sweetheart neckline as well. Will you put a pick of the actual dress on here once you get it? Can't wait to hear how it turned out!
  14. Thanks lisadias! I was thinking satin too but I don't know my fabrics too well. So, did you talk over the phone or was there a way to chat back and forth online? Can't wait to see your dress!!
  15. Does anyone know who makes this dress or have you ever seen any other pictures of it on the internet? I found these pics on a photographers website.
  16. I love this dress and I want to get Monicas Bridal to make it, but I don't know if this is a good enough picture for her to go by. Does anyone know who makes this dress? Or have you seen any other pictures of it? I'm wondering how to describe it to her? I want the bottom to be light and flowy and the top to be tight and fairly structured. I'm not sure what material it would be. Any thoughts?? I also want the back to be plain (without the flaps). I'm worried about describing this if there is a language barrier. I'd appreciate any suggestions you have. By the way, I found these pics from a photographers website. Â
  17. Â This is a picture of the wedding cake that another Iberostar PC bride had. She had 100 ppl. She said that she brought the seashells and gave them to the WC. Â This picture also came from the same Iberostar bride who had 100 guests. I love the look of this! It's nice to have the feel of being married on the beach but with the privacy of the hut. Â Â Here is a picture that Yoselina sent me. I think I would like something like this for my flowers. Â Â I might see if they could do something like either of these. Might not be able to do the blue or green flowers though. Â Let me know if you find out anything about the music/reception at the steakhouse. I wonder if they would have speakers in the steakhouse already? It would be awesome if there was an area to dance there. Â Â Thanks for sharing your info!! Really helps! I haven't sent the form back to yoselina yet, I probably should get that back to her soon and then figure out the details later.
  18. I was thinking of doing the Steakhouse for our wedding supper. I've always envisioned supper under the moonlight on the beach...so I think that is close. Also, I bought a bunch of chinease paper lanterns with battery LED lights that I will see if I can get hung in or around the steahouse where we are sitting. I haven't seen too many pictures of it so I don't know if that will work. But,,I'm thinking with the steakhouse, there wouldn't be an area to do a "first dance". We will probably have just under 20 people, so I feel I should keep it pretty casual. Â Venus - are you getting the trio to play as you walk down the aisle or are you using your Ipod and thier speakers to play your own music?? I had thought I wanted to have recorded music play as I walk down the aisle, but I don't know if that will work or if the trio would be better. Â How did you choose what flowers, cake design, etc you wanted?? Did Yoselina give you choices? She just sent me a couple pictures, but not too many choices. I was talking to a girl who just got married there and she sent her the cake she wanted and that was what she got (but she did have 100 ppl). I am hoping I can just send a picture of a cake I want and flowers I want. Â As for photographer, I booked Micheal Weiler from Caribbean Emotions. I looked into a few others - I first was going to go with HDC. Micheal does really nice work and his prices are reasonable. I didn't look into the resort photographer too much thought. Â I'll try to keep posting info I acquire on here. Venus - will you as well?? And any other Iberostar brides? I find it hard to find wedding info for this resort.
