Ladies, I need your help before I make myself crazy! Attached are pictures of two dresses. The Brianna dress is the dress that remained my favorite throught out try-ons at several stores. The Jenna dress is the dress that made me say "omg, I think this is it!", and I had to fight back tears when I went into the dressing room to take it off. I know should just buy the OMG dress, but I think I'm just having trouble pulling the trigger on ordering it since the dress is such a big part of the wedding. Crazy, huh?! These arent the best pictures, and neither dress was in my size....but which one do you like better? Jenna Brianna

I vote for the fuschia shoes as well! If we weren't getting married on the beach, I would def be buying colored heels. Might even still do colored flip flops!

Thanks, ladies...I love it! And it is amazingly light for the ruffles, etc...the train is pretty long, but I will probably alter that to either bustle it or shorten it a little somehow. Such a pretty dress, even though it's so different from what I thought I wanted!

I myself am getting married at Iberostar Bavaro in April of 2011. I have not been there before, but have a few friends that have and they all loved it. It was also our travel agent's number one choice for the money. I can tell you that the wedding coordinator there has been very good about getting back to me in a timely manner and has provided me any info i've asked for so far. I've also had very good experiences with the other Iberostars I've been to in Mexico. As for Dreams, I was at Dreams Punta Cana in 2006. It was Sunscape the Beach then, and in my opinion was not nearly as good of a resort as it's rated. It may have improved now that Dreams has taken over, but that was my experience when I was there. We even found a rat in the pool one day! Also, May is supposed to be a more rainy month...if you look at weather.com, you can find average rain totals for each month of the year. I believe May is almost twice as rainy as April, but then again that doesn't mean it will for sure rain either. Good luck with your decision - I know it's nerve wracking, but one will eventually stick out to you!

I just found this dress today, and I think it's the one! Maggie Sottero Jenna...much bigger dress than i had planned, but I love the ruffles and fitted it is on the top! eeek!

What did you think of the resort photgrapher? And do you have any pics from the photographer that you could post?

Anyone have any pictures from the resort photographer at Iberostar Bavaro? Trying to decide if I want to just have all my pics done by them, or bring in an outside photographer too...help!

Ladies, how important do you think it is to have a wedding dress that looks "beachy" for your beach wedding? And is your dress beachy, or more traditional? I have one dress I really like so far, but have been hesitating b/c part of me wonders if it will look right for our beach wedding. Help!

My fiance and I are getting married at Ib Bavaro in April 2011. I am trying to decide how to handle the invites. Our travel agent suggested we should send an invitation to the actual wedding to all the people we plan to invite to the reception back home, but to me that seems a little much considering it will only be close friends and family going who will be willing to pay to go with us. Do I send wedding invitations to everyone on our list, or only to the people that are likely to go and then send reception invitations to the rest closer to the date? Thoughts!?

Congratulations on your wedding! My fiance and I are deciding between the IB Bavaro and the Majestic Resorts for an April 2011 wedding, but I am leaning toward IB Bavaro because I've had two previous trips to other Iberostars in Mexico that I just loved. Did you do your ceremony on the beach or elsewhere, and were you happy with your choice of location? And did you do a private reception at the Steakhouse? Thanks for any info you can share!

I would also recommend using a TA to book your trip, and then refer all your guests to the TA to book their trip. Much easier that way for you and them!

I guess I forgot to mention that the Majestic Elegance may be a possibility too, we just have to make sure that none of our potential guests are bringing children before we consider the Elegance. Thanks for your suggestion, though, ladies!

Thanks for your input ladies. KMK and Cheshiremoon, I look forward to seeing reviews of how your weddings go at the Iberostar since there isn't doesn't seem to be as much talk about Iberostar on here as there is for Majestic!

My fiance and I have narrowed down our location choices to the Iberostar Bavaro or the Majestic Colonial. I've only been to Punta Cana once - I stayed at Dreams Punta Cana when it was still Sunscape the Beach and was not impressed. I've traveled to Mexico 3 times, Jamaica once, and the DR once - so far my favorite resorts have been the Iberostars in Riviera Maya. I am torn between going with the Ib Bavaro, which is a little older but has the Iberostar reputation of good service/staff.....or the Majestic Colonial, which is newer with a large pool but has only been around for a few years. The TA we talked to is more comfortable with the IB Bavaro because she has never had any complaints from her clients that travel there, but she hasn't had many clients period who have traveled to the Majestic. Can anyone who has been to both these resorts and/or been married there give me some input?

Hi! My fiance and I just are starting to plan for a wedding in Punta Cana, hopefully for April of 2011. We are still deciding between the Iberostar Bavaro and the Majestic Resorts for our wedding, but are excited to start planning. I just wish it was THIS April!
