  1. Ok so I've been totally MIA cause everytime I check this forum I start to have anxiety. You ladies are SO on top of everything!!! Now that we basically have our final count I am going to start doing all the little things. I need help though!!! Everytime I start to think about it I get overwhelmed and give up!!! What is everyone putting in their OOT bags?? Where should I look for everything? Are you ladies doing wedding day programs?? How about guestbook?? I'm stressing out just thinking of this!!! I's appreciate any suggestions!!! Thanks!!! All of you are amazing and everything looks great!!!
  2. Ladies that stinks about your photographers!! We hired Claudia Rodriquez. She's a little pricy but her albums are amazing. You could email her and see if she or any of her photographers are free?? And I totally agree about the fee...I'm not bringing it up unless they do and if they do there's NO way I'm paying $500!!!!
  3. Welcome back!!! Thats SO exciting!! Thanks so much for all the advice and i cannot wait to read your final review and see pics! I would love to see some of the pics you have now!! Can you email them to me?? [email protected] How much extra was the food during cocktail hour?? Are there 2 open air restaurants at the del mar? I know that's where our reception is but didn't think that was the name. What other sides did you go with?? YAY you're married!!!!
  4. When is your wedding again? Karla emailed me a bunch of pics from another wedding where they used the paper lanterns and it looks so awesome. I'm def doing it now. I'm prob going to buy 24 and 30 inches in a few different colors. I'll let you know prices when I actually do it. I'm trying to make decisions on little things now. I think I might do program fans. I think I will order the fans and print out the program and hot glue it to one side. I know Vistaprint always has specials so I could order postcards and print up the program or just use cardstock. As for everything else I need a final number which hopefully I'll have by the end of the month!
  5. For not being creative they look great haha. Did you just buy paper with that design on it and then print it out?? I'm not great with the computer but I will def look into it. I've seen the timelines you're talking about and they are super cute!! Did you google it?? I google everything these days! Karla said that brides in the past have used paper lanterns and it looks great. She said I would need about 30 and could use different sizes but not exactly what sizes were used. I might just guesstimate. She said we would have to tip the staff for having them put up but whats another $40!!!!
  6. Congrats! Not really sure about pricing. It's different per year too. You should just email them to find out. What other expenses do you mean?? Like photography, flowers, DJ, welcome bags, and ceremony details etc.??
  7. WOW!!! These look absolutely awesome!! Such a great idea too!! Did you make them yourself or order them?? Maybe I could do something like this for our welcome bags?? So I've been emailing Karla but havent been able to get a solid answer. I want to buy paper lantern balls to decorate the reception area but can't figure out what size to buy. I've asked twice but I don't think she completely understands what I'm asking haha. I think I'm going to go with at least 24 inches. What do you think? Are you guys doing wedding programs?? If so what are you doing??
  8. I totally get what you're saying ladies about the bridal party. Originally we were only have 1 per each of us and now it has turned into 2 for me and 4 for Jeff. I'm just going to have 2 guys per girl...whatever I really don't care haha. Hannah I cant see your brochures
  9. yeah i've been searching flowers and have found a lot i like. i just cant make a decision whether i want color or not. it's driving me crazy haha. i originally wanted everything different shades of whites and creams but then we went with a caspian blue color for my 2 maids of honor. now i'm thinking either colored flowers or keeping them white will look good. whatever i'll figure it out i guess haha. i got an email from karla this morning answering a lot of questions. she did send me a different menu to choose from so i'll prob do what you said and just start making phone calls soon. i def like the new menu better!! as for welcome bags i think we are going to do small things like chapstick and things like that. i havent really finalized anything since i'm not ordering until we have a final number. when are you having people rsvp by?? our date is tomorrow and there are a lot of people who havent sent theirs in yet. so annoying!!! our ceremony isnt starting till 5 at the gazebo then we'll do the cocktail hour, which we prob wont get to b/c of pics, and then the reception. it's included in the package so we figured we might as well do it!
  10. Thanks for the dinner menu information. I'll have to ask Karla about it b/c I def want to give our guests an option. I wonder how I can get their choice since I didn't include it in the RSVP??? I guess I'll figure it out. Yeah Karla told me the same thing about the flowers. I just don't def know what I want. I think I just want whites and greens so I need to find an example of what I like. What colors are you doing? I'm going to try to not have to upgrade b/c I don't want to have to pay haha. What are you doing for cocktail hour?? How about your ceremony details?? Welcome bags??

  12. Hi! We have booked our travel. We went with an agent that uses Apple Vacations. We put her info on our invitations so our guests could use her if they wanted. I left it up to them. Rates are higher then we want but it's b/c of Spring break and Easter. I'm a teacher so we had to have the wedding during my Spring break and didn't want to risk the Summer with hurricanes and stuff. I was getting really stressed about the traveling and pricing but then just decided that I can't do anything about it and the people who are going to come will come and thats it haha. I mean every time I get a NO reply I feel bad b/c I wish they could be there but like I said I can't do anything about it. We didn't do a group rate b/c there were SO many limitations it seemed. We didn't want to make people leave on a certain day to get there or to go home. Hopefully everything works out in the end!! So I was wondering about only having 1 dinner option. What did Karla tell you?? I would def like to give an option but didn't include it in the invitation. What are you doing for flowers and all the other details??
  13. Hi everyone, I've been on here for a while but haven't been active lately. I'm getting married at the Del Mar April 16. I have been working with Karla and so far things have been good. I'm starting to get a little nervous b/c I haven't really been doing anything haha. We did luggage tags for our STD and boarding passes for invitations. Our RSVP are due Jan 16. It's annoying b/c a lot of people haven't RSVP yet and I can't start doing all the little details until I have a final count! This is what I've done so far... Dress= La Sposa Fanal Bridesmaid= Jcrew FI and groomsmen= light khaki suits Ring Bearer= seersucker suit Flower girls= wedding tutus DJ= Doremixx Photographer= Claudia Rodriquez Reception= Don Alfredo Wedding= gazebo So now my questions haha... Who else is doing the reception package? Are you doing 1 or 2 entrees? How are you letting the resort know who is getting what? What are you doing for cocktail hour? Karla has sent me a bunch of pics of flowers but I still havent really found what I want. Maybe b/c I'm not really sure haha. I cant decide whether I want to do color or not!!! What are everyone elses details???
  14. I'm getting married the weekend before Easter in Mexico and there is no problem. I don't think they do weddings on the actual holiday. Our rates are a little higher b/c it is around it though and spring break too! What kind of rates have everyone been getting. I really hope ours go down!!!
  15. Is the Del Mar doing anything extra for any of you? We are planning on having over 50 guests and paying extra for the cocktail and reception even though the resort is all inclusive, so I was just wondering if the resort did anything extra for them?? My mom say somewhere that for every certain number of rooms booked then you get one free. Just wondering if anyone knew if this is true?

I have a question for everyone who got married at the Del Mar or are getting married there...Did the resort do anything for you for bringing a certain amount of guests/having your wedding there/paying extra for a recpetion when the resort is all inclusive?? Just wondering??

  21. Hi everyone! I need help! I'm really stressing about these April rates. For everyone getting married in Mexico...what kind of rates are you getting? Our TA just emailed me and said they went up a little. Why aren't they dropping? Is it too early?
  22. We are getting married at City Hall a few months before we leave for Mexico. We are having a "blessing ceremony" there. It's basically the same thing as getting married but less money and we don't have to fill out all kinds of Mexican paperwork or get blood tested!! My mom lives is Florida so we are actually going to do the marriage, shower, and bach party all in 1 long weekend! As for what we're wearing...I'm still looking. May have found the dress but I'm waiting for my mom to see it. It's a simple trumpet style dress. I want my FI to wear a light tan suit. Also we're going to have our ring bearer wear a tan seersucker suit and our flower girls are wearing tutus!! I found this awesome website called weddingtutu.com. They are the cutest things!!!
  23. Hi Everyone! Great job planning and making moves!! Everything is pretty much the same here. Have our date(April 16), our resort(Iberostar Del Mar), photographer(Claudia Rodriquez), and DJ(Doremixx). We have a TA and she has sent us several quotes, but we are still holding off for the rates to drop. She is saying in the Fall they should start to go down. Right now they're around $1500 for flight and resort for 7 nights. I started looking for a dress but haven't had any luck yet. I'm looking for a simple and plain, no beading or crystals, fit and flare dress. Everything I've seen is too fancy!!! My mom is flying in from Florida this week and we are going to look @ places for my shower. As for everything else we are going to start doing it in the Fall, once summer is over!!
