  1. Help! My FI and I decided on the Akamal and will be booking next week but we have not heard back from anyone at the resort. Does anyone have the WC's email address atthe Akumal?
  2. We got really great quotes for the Grand Palladium Colonial and Bahia Principe Akumal. As much as I wanted to get hitched at Iberostar Tucan, it looks like I'll either be a Palladium or Bahia bride.
  3. Hi Ladies, I originally wanted to get married at the Iberostar Tucan but because of the high quotes, we've had to look at other resorts. I really like the White Sands and Colonial. We are lookng at having a Catholic wedding ceremony at the chapel. Will my reception need to be at the the resort my ceremony is held at? I'm sure I read thios somewhere but my looking through so many posts you tend to forget. Can anyone recommend which of the two they preferred?
  4. I was in the same boat when I first began planning. My FI's expected the big fat Italian wedding with 300+ guests. AT firstthey were upset and said that we were missingout on all that money. But in the end, the saw how important it was for us to do it our way and to invite opur dearest and nearest.
  5. Hi, Has anyone been married at the catholic chapel within the resort? Are you able to add your own cultural touches to the ceremony? If you have any pictures, that would be great! Thanks!
  6. Hey Kristen, I got my quote from our wedding coordinator from Weddings In The Tropics. Weddings in the Tropics --- Wedding Vacation Gateways They are based in Toronto. It took us a really long time to get to this quote. The TA we got the quote from came highly recommended. The first meeting we had with her was great. After the second phone call though, it felt like we had to push her to follow up with us. Ultimately its the lowest quote so far. Just to be on the safe side, we asked her to give us a quote for the Grand Palladium White Sands and Bahia Principe Akumal. So far these two resorts are more in our price range.
  7. Hi, I am getting married at the Tucan October 28, 2010. My biggest concern right now is gettinga reasonable quote for my 50+ guests. So far the lowest quote for double occupany I've received is $1575 with taxes. This will be our first time in Mexicoa and at an all-inclusive resort. Is this a fair price given the resorts rating and the time of the year? I really have my heart set on this resort and have already been in contact with Gabriela.
  8. Hi Everyone! This is a great forum. I wish I found it earlier. I'm getting married this October at the Iberostar Tucan. I would love to hear from other brides who've married here.
