  1. Review of Our Wedding at Secrets Capri in Playa del Carmen, Mexico After searching through hundreds of websites and visiting several resorts in the Caribbean, we chose to have our wedding at Secrets Capri. It was the best decision we made for we received excellent treatment and were given a wedding that exceeded all of our expectations and dreams. We chose the Ultimate Wedding Package offered by Secrets Capri because we knew we would have well over the 20 guests that package included. We had a total of 35 guests and that was no problem for our wedding coordinator or her staff. They gave us a beautiful wedding day that impressed all of our friends and family. Wedding Coordinator – Martina Mairhofer – There are not enough adjectives to describe her. She is fabulous, amazing, patient, and just overall a brilliant wedding planner. I was impressed by her fast response time – all of my emails were answered within 1-2 days max. That is so helpful when trying to plan a destination wedding from far away. She answered tons of emails and always gave me her honest opinion as well as some great suggestions and ideas. She organized everything so well that our wedding week of events (including a surprise birthday cake for my Dad) seemed to flow seamlessly. She was like magic – nothing went wrong and it all exceeded our expectations (which were quite high). She helped arrange a spa day for my bridesmaids and the mothers – with the help of Paola (the spa manager) who was also fabulous! Martina made our wedding day beyond special and beautiful. Rehearsal Dinner – July 15, 2011 We had an amazing private rehearsal dinner at the Oceana Restaurant. Martina allowed us to create a menu from the Seaside Grill instead of the original Oceana menu, which was fabulous. One of the nicest touches was a personalized dinner menu with our names on the front – it was totally unexpected and we loved it! I was thrilled that we were allowed to use the entire restaurant as a private space. It made it intimate and special. The servers were amazing – very prompt and courteous. Everyone had a great time. Wedding – July 16, 2011 Martina and the staff went above and beyond our expectations. The decorations for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were absolutely breathtaking. Our ceremony setup took my breath away – I was so pleased, especially with the flowers dangling from the gazebo, the rose petal aisle, and the beautiful aqua chair bows – it was just gorgeous. The mariachi band at cocktail hour was great! Our guests loved them and they played a variety of music. The ballroom was completely transformed for our reception. It looked so elegant and everything flowed perfectly together. Our table centerpieces were gorgeous! They looked even better than we expected. The setup for the buffet tables, bar, DJ table, our sweetheart table, and the guest tables were perfect – I wouldn’t have changed a thing. Our cake was amazing – I can’t believe how they replicated our request so perfectly. It looked beautiful and tasted delicious! The cake, like many of the things we had them put together, were not standard – we sent pictures and descriptions of decorations, cakes, and flowers that we found online. They did an AMAZING job of replicating all of these and exceeding our expectations every time! Our light-up dance floor was a crowd favorite and we loved it! The food was fabulous – we were amazed by the quantity, but also the variety offered was great. Photographer – Diego – He was one of the best photographers I’ve ever worked with. He had fantastic ideas and concepts that turned out so well. We loved his personality and energy. The fast turnaround for our photographs was also amazing – he edited over 1000 and had them edited down to 600+ by the next day. DJ – He followed our itinerary perfectly and our reception flowed just as it was supposed to with amazing dance music. He added in his own songs to our ideas and our guests had an amazing time. In addition, he actually used turn-tables so that he could mix music and did many of the things DJs at the top clubs do with cutting songs together and keeping up a non-stop party atmosphere. On a different note, I highly recommend getting the honeymoon suite if you can – it was ridiculous in its size and luxury. We felt like celebrities! For those people who are planning a destination wedding, I know how stressful and scary it can be to not be there to have direct contact and control leading up to the big day. I can’t stress how professional, efficient, and amazing Martina and the Secrets Capri staff were in helping us plan our special day. We wanted a lot and expected even more – and our expectations were blown out of the water! I would recommend a destination wedding at Secrets Capri without any reservation – they will make the most important day of your life a perfect experience.
  2. Any other Secrets Capri brides out there? We leave next Monday the 11th for our wedding on the 16th and I cannot wait!!!
  3. We are getting married at the Secrets Capri and they only do one wedding a day. I would assume the other Secrets resorts are the same, but I don't know for sure. I know that the Palace Resorts schedule more than one per day. I hope that helps. Good luck!
  4. I haven't been on here for a while and I just saw your post. I am getting married there next year. Did you have any questions about the resort? I hope I can help.
  5. Thanks to everyone! And it's too late, I think I'm already addicted.
