  1. I'm bringing my own DJ as well and just need equipment. What did Psav and Jsav quote you?

  2. I agree. That is why I cut up my fruit and veggies and put them in individual containers which makes it much easier to just grab and go.

This will seem like an extremely obvious piece of advice but I find myself not realizing it at times. Although I buy fruit & veggies every time I go to the store, I don't always eat them. What has helped change my ways is actually taking cherries, carrots, celery, etc out of their bags, cutting them up and putting them in a fun dish that is really visible in the fridge. It's surprising how much a difference this makes when the "effort" that has to go into actually cutting celery/carrots, etc. is already done for you. When things are presented nicely, it's also a bigger draw to want to snack on them. I find that in my household that consists of my husband, me and our 2 mini dachshunds, everyone eats more fruit & veggies when it's in more of a "party presentation" :) Hope that (kind of obvious, but easily forgotten) tip helps!

  3. I found myself in the same situation such as yourself and was disappointed in myself. But you have to stick to it and DON'T GIVE UP! All of that hard work already put in.... you can't just throw in the towel. Stick to it and you will get there. I will also say that I constantly remind myself not to binge whenever I see ice cream (my FAV) or any unhealthy items that may be in front me. After a hardcore workout and sweating it out.... I'm not going to sabotage that for ice cream etc.... because then i'm just going backwards instead of forward and have to work much harder to burn off those empty calories. I would prefer to indulge on my 1 cheat meal on the weekend, which is so worth the wait :)

  4. Thanks!! I agree... I'll be happy with 8-10.

Keep up the good work and its always great to hear other woman succeeding!!  pinkie.gif

  5. I highly recommend Bloomingdales. They have gorgeous dresses and you can always find great shoes. They often have sales so you can save a few bucks. I stick to the department stores because there is never an issue with returning an item if you change your mind or getting a refund.

I was thinking about doing an AHR a few months after wedding, possibly in the spring, however, just like you, don't think I'll have anything left over from the budget to do so. Therefore, I may just wait it out till the summer of 2012 and have a BBQ at my beach house in NJ.

Any suggestions on places to shop in NYC for cute rehearsal dresses, shoes etc?  I need to get out there and shop while summer stuff is still in the stores. I just haven't had time. :(

Is anyone planning a local party after the DW? I've been thinking about it but the way things are looking right now, there won't be anything left in the wedding budget to do it.

  6. I'm back! I started healthy eating and exercising 6 days a week for 1 hour a day, back in February. Parties, giving in to binging and tirelessly exercising without the scale budging made me want to give up. BUT... I didn't! I stopped the binging however, would allow myself one cheat meal a week and stepped up my cardio.

Today, I'm down to 149lbs, from 157lbs. It doesn't seem like a whole lot but I can definitely see and feel the difference. I look a lot slimmer than what I weight and that's because I gained muscle, which will burn fat and makes you look leaner and toned. My clothes fit so much better. I've also tried on all of my dresses since I have weddings, bridal showers etc... lined up and my dresses fit and look Fabulous!!

My friends and family have all noticed that I've lost weight and all comment about how great I look. I mentioned how I'd like to lose another 12 lbs and one of my friends stated I should stay where I am because I look great and then I'd look too skinny. Well.... I disagree. LOL I'm happy that I'm finally seeing results and I'm looking forward to losing 12 lbs more.

With that said... DON'T GIVE UP LADIES!! You will get there! Slow and steady weight loss is not only the healthier way but you will maintain for the long run :)

  7. Great photos!! Gorgeous dress... You looked beautiful!

  8. Getting totes printed gives it a nice personal touch, which is nice. However, the cost do add up especially with the printing. That's why I decided to do away with custom totes and ordered totes from orientaltrading.com. They come in a variety of colors and were very inexpensive. I purchased the one with the hibiscus flower print. The size is perfect for carrying beach towels, sunsreen and all other misc beach items.

  9. you have to get them while they're having a sale or get a coupon code for 25% etc... Try doing a web search and see which sites you get and which is the least expensive. Or you can purchase everything at michaels, if there's one near you. They always have 40 and 50% coupons available.

  11. Exactly what i'm worried about. In the beginning he would reply to all of my emails and his response time was great. Past brides mentioned how great he was with replying back right away and how great it was to work with him. Dealing with him at first, I was sold. Now, I don't know what to think and not so sure anymore :( I was trying to give it the benefit of the doubt, however, now i'm just disappointed because it seems that he's ignoring me because he is getting back to the others. I'm going to pull a trick out of my hat and email him under another email address and see what happens. If he gets back to me right away, then i'm placing my order ASAP. I recommend that everyone else do the same while you got him.

  14. I've sent Marvin about 4 emails and still no reply. He was so prompt with getting back to me prior to that. I don't know what's wrong. We left off at Marvin sending me pic samples of my potential bouquet and my brides maids bouquets and table centerpieces. Once I approved, we would move forward with placing my order. Everything just came to a halt and I'm starting to get annoyed since my wedding is now 4 months away and would like to scratch one more thing off of my to do list. Please let me know if you ladies have any luck making contact and how. Thanks!
