Wow..you girls are busy busy on here! so much communication i leave 10 days from tomorrow...i admit, im stressed...im trying to not become psycho bridezilla but i feel like there is still alot to do...i think its funny how so many ppl say, oh youre having a destination wedding, thats so relaxing, b/c theres nothing to do for it....im like, what?!?! ive done a million things!!! very frustrating! can anyone tell me the easiest way to write up my planning thread and include pics...should I write it on a word doc and then just attach or write it on here and then what do I have to do to attach the pics? food for thought....at first I had my heart set on the pandero terrace, and thought I was definitley having one of my private events there, but then as months passed and more and more ppl booked it came to a point where I now had too many ppl to have an event there...so Im glad I hadnt bought any thing to decorate it yet...dont worry so much about ordering things, Ive ordered most of my stuff within the last 6 weeks, believe me everyday the UPS or FedEx guy is at my house, but its all worked out and now I know everything Im buying Im definitely using.... fyi...i looked online and that episode of Say Yes to the Dress showing ASP is coming back on this Friday, October 22 @ 11-11:30am I set my DVR and I cant wait to see it...
  2. Three weeks from today I will be a Mrs.!!!! We leave 2 weeks from tomorrow....so much to do still! Tomorrow is our bachelor and bachelorette parties and then Sunday we need to do some things off the wedding list while trying to recouperate! Im so excited for tmr night...i feel like its the first of the fun activiites to come over the next few weeks...also I go for my final fitting tmr morning im still working on my planning thread for you ladies..ive been taking pictures of everything I have so thats taking some time, also im not sure yet about how to attach pics on here....we have 50 ppl coming plus bride & groom
  3. Hey Ladies! My wedding is 3 weeks from this Friday and I feel like the list is still getting longer instead of shorter! I will admit, ive been a lil stressed and definitely a lil bitchy...i just want everythign to be perfect...I think the most annoying thing is when people say to you "what do you mean you're stressed, you dont have to do anything for destination weddings!" I want to scream...really? if i dont have to do anything, then what the hell is on this list that i keep looking at....jeez! ok sorry...see MysTea you're not the only one venting today and no, I do not think you are being unreasonable at all....I cant believe how fast this month got here...

Im having my reception on the maraccas terrace..thank you for posting these pictures, ive never seen them and it helps so much to have a better visual of the area.....i saw that del sol took them but can you tell me where you found them, i want to try to see it bigger...i love the built in bar too, didnt even know that was there

  7. question for any other brides getting married at ASP this year, are you hearing differnt stories on the FALL 2010 1500 credit promotion??? their website says if you travel from sept till dec of this year you can use the full $1500 in the spa...but then when one of my guests made her appts and wanted to verify that info, they told her no, that she could only use the $300...when i emailed them the exact quote from the website, i didnt get a response...my travel agent is looking into it, but its annoying...how do they promote one thing, and say another... while im on the spa subject, does anyone know what the tipping policy is there as far as spa and salon services? lastly, fyi..im in the process of typing up my planning thread from all the stuff i have collected over the past 10 months...its taking a long time to put togethr but i shoudl be done in another week, and i promise if you are anything like me (ocd, anal, too organized) you should love it
  8. i have an appt to get mine done, but I am nervous...i would love to hear if any past brides had theirs done there...i dont want to look like a clown, and i also dont want my face to be one big oily mess

It comes so quick...ive been engaged 10 months now and I cant even believe how quick it went...also, im a teacher too my wedding is over nj teachers convention wknd, so i only had to take off 3 days and they didnt give me a problem at all about it about the wedding scripts...another reason i cant stand this communication with my WC...i spent an entire week reading through a million scripts, picking parts of one i wanted and adding it with another..making my fiance listen to them all until we came up with one we both loved, then i emailed it to Yazmin...to find out...i dont get to choose my own script...since were doing a civil wedding, she said the justice of peace only does one script and he wont use ours....wth!!!! these are things that pull my stress chords and require me to drink wine and eat chocolate!
  10. wow! i wonder whats going on with all these changes! even more reason to print out all the email communication and bring it with me! just checked my email and Yazmin sent me 4 messages answering different questions..which is good! I feel bad asking them a million questions, they should take note of what we ask and offer it to new brides...if they had a checklist of questions brides have then they can answer them all in way less emails...
  11. ONE MONTH FROM TODAY!!!!! woo hoo!!! I leave 3 weeks from this saturday...i cant even believe how quick everything came...We have 52 ppl coming to celebrate with us Can someone give me Wilma's email address? Yazmin takes a good week or 2 to get back to me with my answers, even this past month with the wedding being so soon, ive tried to stay patient, but im a very OCD, organized kind of person and Im starting to get a little crazy with not having answers I need... I still didnt hire my dj/audio either...but the list is getting checked..

  13. @angelov321-what did you have to do to get the $2250? were staying 8 nights for our wedding in a concierge level room on the spa side...would i have to switch over to the cove side after 5 nights to get the extra 750?
  14. we didnt ask for a package, we just said that we wanted a dj, sound system, lights and then i asked for a quote for the 4 lit up columns...thats when all of a sudden the price jumped to almost $4000, so obviously we will not be getting the lit up columns..they look great but thats way too much, and it wasnt even the actual columns that cost so much, it was the labor fees for ppl to set up and transport the columns....so still not sure what were going to do yet...i def want the dj for 4 hours and i def want some kind of lighting b/c i think it makes a big difference...but not willing to spend that much money...do you know if aventura allows any other djs besides J&S? i havent heard back from Yazmin in over a week, so no help there... Â
  15. JSAV! ugh! got a quote today for 4 hours of dj service, and some lighting....$3,930.79!!!!!! am i the only one who thinks this is insane??? dj services in the states doesnt even cost this much...i dont know what to do about this....there is NO way i am paying this much Â

(thats my snookie impersonation, sorry im a jersey girl) so im back! i didnt really leave, i just havent been on here too much and when I am, Ive been spending alot of time on the Aventura Spa Palace thread b/c thats where im getting maried and the site helps with a lot of advice...ok so no more excuses! my wedding is in 8 friggen weeks! (November 5th) i cant even believe it..so i promise to be on here everyday from now till then to lend my support and bi$#h if i need too....First things first, my dress is in and my first fitting is tomorrow night so i am very, very excited...i have lost 7lbs over the summer, with only 5 more to go for goal wedding weight...I wish i could get into running like some of you but i really despise it ;( but if thats what it takes in the end, i will do it...I feel like I have alot done, but at the same time i feel like my list is still long ;( it might be me though and my libra trait of loving to have lists so this is what is done so far:  all RSVPs from invites are back...we have 49 guests coming wedding bands purchased my dress, garter and jewlery purchased bridesmaids dresses, jewlery, shoes & bags purchased myself and bridesmaids hair/makeup/massage appts made wedding party gifts purchased groom & groomsmen outfits purchased photographer hired (Juan Navarro) fans, sand unity set & cake topper purchased boudoir pics taken (didnt receive back yet) trash the dress dress purchased some stuff for OOT bags purchased bachellorette party planned Week in Mexico Itenirary planned  Now, heres what I still have to do...ASAP  -arrange all transportation for guests to/from airports -finish putting together OOT bags -find pictures of cakes and flowers that I want -hire dj company -print brochure and ceremony programs -plan welcome party at resort -purchase veil and shoes for myself -compile a song list for ceremony and reception -get all documents/paperwork together -complete my planning thread on BDW forum -pictures of hairstyles/makeup i want  ugh!!!! i need a mantra...i can do this! i can do this! hope this helps some of you, time to go to bed..but i promise I will return daily Nicole   Â

Kim is right, I need to check with my wedding coordinator to get a definite on other weddings booked the same day as mine, but the way I checked for now was by going to palaceresortsweddings.com then click on Wedding Collections...click on ASP and click on Check Wedding Availability...then put in your resort and date and it will tell you what else is booked...  also, just want to clarify something with everyone...the unlimited private functions is given, once you reach 75 nights booked, not 75 rooms booked...it sounds like some might be confused...we have 47 guests coming with 19 rooms booked, but once we added up how many nights each guest was staying then it came to a total over 75...hope this helps someone...and very important to remember that these rooms have to be booked under your group booking with your travel agent...so if some of your guests book the vacation themselves online w/out going through your travel agent then you will not receive credit for their rooms...we had some like this but luckily we still met the 75 total...  when deciding on your wedding day itenirary make sure you first find out the time of sunset the month you are getting married....the sunsets around 5pm in November, when im getting married so i planned my timeline around this:  11:00 Hair 12:30 Makeup  3:00 Ceremony (w/Harpist) *we chose this time so we could get our pictures taken before the sun sets* 4:30-5:30 Cocktail Hour (w/Mexican Trio) *we started this a lil later b/c we want to get our pics taken and then join everyone 6:00-10:00 Reception (w/DJ) afterwards.....disco/club at resort till we all pass out

  19. so I know that I preach about not stressing, but I went on the palace resorts website and checked the wedding availability of my date, November 5, 2010 and to my dislike saw that there are 5 weddings scheduled that day, including mine i dont know how i feel about this, I figured there would be at least 1 more, but 4??? the thing that concerns me most is that I was hoping once I got there that if I wasnt crazy about the locations i chose for my cocktail hour and reception that i would be able to change it, but now im not so sure...all the other locations are probably booked....oh well, not happy, but nothing i can do...

I am looking to arrange private transportation to/from the airport for my wedding guests...I am getting married in Riviera Maya in 8 weeks...many of our 50 guests are arriving around the same time and on the same days...I would like to arrange private transportation to pick them up from the airport and bring them to the resort. I probabl need a van to hold 5 or more people at a time..Has anyone used an outside transportation compnay? and if so how was your experience...thanks, Nicole
  21. Hello! My fiance and I are getting married this november in Riviera Maya..we are both certified scuba divers, as is some of our guests..I am wondering if anyone dived before in Riviera Maya, and if so what company you used? and was it a good experience? thanks, Nicole

Dont stress Jessica...you are definitley not running out of time...I booked my photographer (Juan Navarro) 5 months before my wedding, so you do still have time...i would suggest you decide what is the most important things to be spending your money on for the wedding...if you and your fiance agree that photography is very important than put out the extra money and go with a photographer whose work you love...otherwise go with the resort, im sure you will still be very happy...

Hi ladies...so in 8 weeks, i leave for Mexico! woo hoo! @sxct - It doesnt matter if you sign the agreement with the spa or cove side, also you can pick to have your ceremony on one side of the resort and your reception on the other, as long as they are available and as long as you dont have kids involved, in that case cove side only..I believe that they dont really let you start reserving locations till 2-3 months before... Â @jszy10 - dont tell your wc anything about hiring a photographer...the only time you mention their name is when you are providing the resort with your wedding guest list, at that time you tell them that you need to purchase day passes for guests that are staying at other resorts...also, keep in mind when choosing between the resort photographer and an outside vendor, that your photographer is very important, his work will be the only visual reminder you have of your important day...so who is the photographer that the resort uses...can you see his work? can you read reviews? can you go on a website and view updated pictures of his? these are all imortant questions to ask yourself... Â @banknelson-- relax and try not to stress! remember that is the whole reason why people have destination weddings....so they can stay away from the stress and drama! everything will work out and be beautiful...once you get off that plane and walk onto the beautiful resort, youre not going to care about the lil things, bc its just going to be so beautiful....when youre staring at palm trees and crystal blue water, who cares what color linens the tables have
  24. ugh! is your fiance dealing with Michell from J&S services for dj? i have been trying to get a response from him the whole entire month of August...im really frustrated...i told him repeatedly my wedding is in 9 weeks now, and still...nothing! i dont know who else to contact and i emailed Yazmin today to voice my concern and i got an automated response saying she is out of office till September 13th!!! the clock is ticking and i am def starting to feel the stress....massive amounts of chocolate and vodka will hopefully keep me from becoming bridezilla Â
