  1. Well we took our weekend excursion to Jamaica to check out the Grand. It's completely phenomenal. My FI and I loved that there weren't any kids there after venturing to check out the Beach and Suites resorts. Service was exquisite as well as food. I have no more worries about the DJ because we spent all of Saturday night at the Mango Disco and we didn't spend any of our night critiquing him as we had expected to. We met with Kym to ask all of our questions about the resort and wedding packages. Everything was organized very well and once you speak with her, you realize that there is no need to worry about anything. I was very anxious/nervous/excited/hyped up about the wedding and what exactly we were going to do for the ceremony/reception before this trip, and after taking the trip, I can tell you that I'm completely cool and calm now and that I know exactly what I'm going to do for the wedding day and I'm not fretting it any longer. Our wedding will be much more smaller and simpler than Sparkles was but that's our intention of doing this destination wedding. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask. I'd be more than happy to help anyone.

You can weigh each other in and talk about how you guys can stay on track during the holidays. If you don’t have a scale available you can always take your measurements. Hi Vallarta and deddmach! Good luck with your weight loss! I think that the holidays is a great time to start working on your diet, I think we need all the motivation we can get during the holidays! If we can stick with our weight loss during the holidays, we can stick with it during anything! And a DW is a great motivator to work towards our goal weights! That's a great idea! Thanks for the advice! I'll get together with Mom and talk about it with her
  4. Hi all!! Well, Sparkles wedding has been VERY inspiring to myself, my MOH, my mom, my aunt... Christmas was a GREAT time to show off all her great pictures and start to get everyone psyched for the wedding next year! So... my FI usually works weekdays early in the morning (morning show radio host) and then late late nights on the weekends (bar DJ) but this weekend... he doesn't have to work at all because of the holiday... and... We just booked a random trip to Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall to check it out!! We're very excited! I'll make sure to take lots of pictures while we're down there and post when I get back!! Happy New Year to all!!!!
  5. I'm not a 2010 bride but I am a weight watchers member!! I was on the plan in high school and lost 30 pounds to get into a slim sleek prom dress when I was a junior. After 6 years, I gained it all back plus some (college years). Now in preparation for my wedding I've joined again and am sticking to it. I've been going since the first week in November and so far have lost about 12 and 1/2 pounds. My mom has also been going with me even though shes already a skinny minnie. Haha Dilemma though! The next two weeks, WW is closing in our region to re-vamp their program for the new year!!! Which means no weigh ins until 1/1/10!! I'm super scared of the holidays and gaining a bunch of weight back! I know that the simple answer is just sticking to it as I would before but, there's something so motivating about knowing that that weigh in day is coming that it keeps you on track!!
  6. Oh! I have a question too! My FI and I are DJs so... we're being extremely unconventional with our methods of music for our own wedding. We don't want to use a DJ because we will just critique him the entire time (not our idea of a fun evening). We pretty much want to just play music for the ceremony/reception/cocktail hour on our own. From what I read, it's my understanding that we can't just use his equipment, correct? The DJ will still have to be there? Honestly I wouldn't even trust him to press play... Might we be better off bringing our own computer/ipod/speaker set up to just be able to do it ourselves??
  7. Hello. I'm having my wedding on June 15, 2011 at the Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall. I've been looking at the forum for about a day now, read through everything, just thought I'd say hello!
  8. Thank you all for the warm welcomes!! I found this website out of luck yesterday and have been addicted ever since!!
  9. Hello everyone! My name is Melissa and I'm getting married June 15, 2011 at the Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall!! Can't wait!!
  10. HI all! Super excited to have found this website/thread! You can't find information/pictures ANYWHERE about Iberostar Rose Hall none the less the Grand! Booked my wedding June, 15, 2011 at the Grand and completely can't wait!! My FI and I are trying to figure out if it's going to be worth it to take a trip down in 2010 to scope out the place. Will it be worth the trip or should we save the excitement of the Grand for when we go down for the wedding in 2011?? Cyclegirl, when I sent my e-mail to Pilar, it did take her a while to respond to it. But eventually, all the booking paperwork got taken care of. Just took a few weeks. I know it's super hard to wait for it because we're so excited!!
