I have read that a number of you have opted to do a cheaper wedding package like the classic or the eternal romance then just added on from there. I am highly considering this also b/c when i look at the luxury package it has alot of things we really dont need. So the a la carte list I have is pretty basic. Can any of you PM me with a complete a la carte wedding list with all the fees?

For example, if we decide to go with the eternal package it incl. a semi private reception for up to 30 guests, if we upgrade to a private reception it is an additional $25 per real guest for all 30 people or just guests beyond the 30?

Also, we are doing a symbolic ceremony, will they allow my FI's brother who is licensed in the states to marry, to lead the ceremony and waive there fee for the minister??

And i know several of you have asked this but I just want to clarify, our ceremony is on a Sat. at 2 p.m. will the weekend fee be waived even if our reception is from 4-7 p.m. Is that fee only charged if the "ceremony" is after 4p.m.?

One last question I promise :) I am not having a good time deciding on a photog. If I had an endless budget, it would be so easy. I will be charged $400 outside vendor fee so with this is mind, most that I have found put me over what I can spend. I am not a huge fan of the resort photog so I would like to use someone in addition for at least the ceremony and pics after. The one I have found charges $1500 plus that fee so now we are close to 2K which is really pushing it. Does anyone have some suggestions of good photogs that are around 1,000 or less that you really like??

Thank you all for your help!!
I ended up going with the Luxury package, because when I booked I thought oh how nice that we get all this stuff, it will definitely be worth it. That isn't the case now that the date is getting closer. I ended up realizing that the flowers are too pricey for the girls, so I went with Real Touch flowers instead. Which meant my bouquet at the resort is a toss bouquet now. I plan to get fake nails becuase mine are not long, so the manicure is worthless. The face saver treatment for the FI I am not doing because I heard way too many "they cut my FI face the day before the wedding" stories. There were other things on there as well that I could do without. I wish I would have been smarter and done it the way you are talking about! Just some advice from the other end!
  2. OMG I definitely know your pain on this thread! I feel like something bad is always happening! So far we have had our car broken into (had to pay for repairs), FI got into an accident and it was his fault, I have invisalign so I'm paying a fortune for that, Dog got sick so we payed over $800 in vet bills! Then FI went to the dentist for a annual cleaning and he found out he needed to root canals...WHAT?! Seriously it never ends. Somehow though you always come up with the money. I really don't know how we are making ends meet, but you do because you have no choice! Keep your head up and don't fight about it, this is the time when you guys are supposed to be happy =)

  3. I bought these glasses to give to the groomsmen, but I don't think they are real oakleys. The come with a hard leather case, cleaning cloth, and the glasses of course. They are really nice, but I don't think they are authentic.

I bought 8 of them for $200 (another reason why they probably aren't real) so I will sell all 8 for $150 to whomever wants them. On the picture they are listed under OAKLEY31. The site claims that they are real, but I just don't know.

I decided to do flasks instead. I will seperate, but I have to charge for shipping.

I actually ended up buying real touch flowers so that I could get Calla's. They were cheaper in the end too. I would ask because I think you can get them for a additional fee.

I wish I could, but the cost of the wedding is forcing me to sell them frown.gif
Trust me I would have a whole closet full if I could afford to! The great thing is that the FI saw the shoes but has no idea who Christian Louboutin is...so he is clueless. If my dog didn't need to be boarded while I was gone...those shoes would be mine smile120.gif

I just wonder why this was not mentioned in the first 12 emails or the checklist. I'm not that worried about it, because like I said I understand and my MIL is paying, but still it's just the principle! Also, the resort is almost full the week of our wedding and I'm getting nervous because several guests haven't booked yet. Some are waiting for tax returns to be safe financially. sad.gif Makes me sad that some might have to stay off site.
We lost a few guests who wanted to come but couldn't because it was all full! Tell them to just put money down to secure thier room. I know they are waiting for tax returns, but they don't want to loose the rooms. I'm sorry that this is happening to you, I know how bad that feels unfortunately frown.gif
  7. I'm terribly upset because I love my shoes, but I can't use them because my dress is too short with them on. They are 4" in height and a size 40 (9.5). They are 100% authentic that I can assure you! I paid $850 for them (I know I am nuts) but I have to sell them now since I can't wear them. If the FI finds out he will kill me rant.gif

So I am now trying to sell them on here to another bride who could use them and love them for her day! Perfect for your something blue! I am asking $400for them, which is a fantastic deal for REAL LB's!

I don't have enough points to upload a photo. If you want to see which ones they are PM me and I will send you a photo that I have. They come with the LB box and red shoe cover. The box is a bit roughed up but still in great condition. It's only because I have all the wedding stuff pushed into a closet.

    Thank you! smile29.gif
