I love the sex on the beach ;-)

Ladies, do you all have any guests who are nervous about the violence in Mexico? One of my BM (a very close cousin) told me she wasn't gonna make it because of the violence! I'm so pissed!
Tell your cousin to pull out a map and look at it. Trust me, where you are going to be is FAR away from any violence. Plus the resort area is gated off. You won't have to worry about it and she shouldn't either. I had some guests that were concerned but I pulled up a map and showed them how far away they were and they felt better.

We have 11 people including ourselves with flights booked. My first thought was if I can't find anywhere in the price range I'll need to take a loan and pay all of these people back.

Now I'm looking at the first week in Dec which is still in the price range, I don't think it's major to us to move the wedding up a month...

My question is now all of these people with flights booked, would it be possible to just move the dates ahead...or would they be out the money and have to pay again?

I thought DW was supposed to be easier than a regular wedding!!!!!

You had people book their flights already?
Don't panic! I know it is stressful but a DW isn't easier than a regular wedding. I thought that too. But it really all does come together and you just make it work in some magical way. I wouldn't have any more of your guests book though until you figure out exactly what you are doing. It will cause more stress on you and them. Get yourself situated first with your booking, then have them book. You definitely need to talk to your TA, since it is early maybe they can work something out. The cost will definitely come down. Mine went up but it was because of the time of year I am going.
  4. I got these from advantage bridal: New Bridesmaid Can Koozie - Bridesmaid Koozie - Barware

Love them! I ordered them for the bm's, gm, fmi, mom, dad, and ffi. FANTASTIC!

For those of you who were discussing not paying the vendor fee for DJ Ivan, hold onto those notes because I talked to Zulma and she said that I still had to pay since I didn't book through the resort. Just a FYI.

Wow, this is horrible! Don't worry, I am working with the coordinator in Mexico right now and they are fantastic to deal with. They might still take a bit to get back to you, but when they do they answer all of your questions and give you straight answers! Makes you feel a lot better. You are the day after me I believe. If you are having that many problems send me a PM and I will give you the contact for the Royal (he is a higher up there). He can put you in contact with your WC at the Royal!

Good to hear that we can change the roses!

There are just sooo many extra costs that I didn't realize in the begining that now I have to see which ones I really want.
I wish the cupcakes weren't so pricey! I'm not a cake person at all but for some reason I will eat cupcakes. I think it is kind of fun for everyone to grab them and eat them as they like...but that is WAY too much money!

Did anyone find out if they will credit your free cake towards the couture ones? Sorry if it was already mentioned.

WTF? Seriously? I already paid the stupid vendor fee! I will be sooooooo angry. I am emailing Zulma now to ask, maybe she won't know I paid up.
  8. I'm looking for starfish necklaces that have crystals or some sort of CZ diamond in them. Even a pearl at the bottom would work. I want to give them to my bridesmaids to wear the day of my wedding, but I already spent a fortune on them for other gifts. I'm looking to spend $15/girl max on these. Any thoughts?

  9. We have 37 people booked, besides us. Yes, she is being truley selfish. I told her that too. She said she would go but she isn't happy about it. It doesn't make it any easier. Having divorced parents on both sides, who don't get a long is really tough. I'm not going to deal with it that day though, I really can't.

We have another friend who can take his place, it is just an akward situation to bring up so late in the game.

    50 days and counting!

  10. Oh my heavens ladies!!!!!! Drama Drama Drama! I am 1 1/2 months out from my wedding and all in one week my mother decided to be a no show for my shower, then told me she won't be at my wedding since my dad is bringing his new fiance. My FI mom and sister got into a huge fight and won't speak to each other...and now on top of everything else I just had a groomsmen drop out saying he has to leave for Hong Kong for work! Seriously..worst week ever!

I think 9pm is really late. Are you doing apps in between or anything to hold them over?

We are doing the beach reception same day you are. We got the luxury package which included the tables, chairs, standard centerpiece (candle with glass plate). They also will provide a dance floor but it is basically two pieces of plyboard. You can actually do a search for it, someone posted it on the forum. You provide the rest of the decor. LOL, you could use mine after I'm done! My reception is over at 8pm....ha! rofl.gif

I hate hate hate yoga! It does make you more flexible though.
I am having a hard time sticking with the classic program. Not sure why. I think now that the wedding is so close I am super busy doing DIY stuff. Excuses! I have 2 months before the wedding and I need to get my butt in gear. I really think I only need about another 5 lbs off. I know I can do this!

Diane, I did ask about the centerpieces way back when and they told me it would cost $60/centerpiece. I think that is WAY overpriced! I think most of the girls on the forum would agree, which is why you see them do a lot of DIY centerpieces, like I am.

I had my wedding shower yesterday! It was so much fun! It is definitely weird being on the other side after so many years of going to these things!
  14. Someone on here was wondering about the day passes and how expensive they were. I emailed Zulma to find out and here is what she told me:

    9am to 5pm 85usd

    5am to 11pm 85usd

    9am to 11pm 140usd

Sometimes Gran Porto front desk give a promotion as follows:

If the guests buy 3 day passes for the royal it will cost 60usd per the 3 days, but this promotion is not all the time.

    Hope that helps!

  15. I'm an event planner in the city and there aren't too many places that you won't have to pay a fortune for. If you go into the suburbs then you will have a much better chance of getting what you want. Might I suggest a picnic? picnic grounds are extremely cheap to rent out and they usually have tables and chairs set up. You could rent a photobooth and a caterer. Maybe do a pig roast and do some sort of vintage decor. Just a thought.
