Welcome Alexis! You've come to the right place for inspiration and advice. Have you decided on a date/time of year?
-
Just got engaged in October so I've just recently started looking into DW locations and having been to the RM/PDC a few times I know I want to have it in this region.
However I'm not sure I'm sold on the AI commercial "feel" of most resorts for "our day" and would like to look into more private offsite locations for the ceremony & candlelight dinner such as Haciendas or ruins or historical church or something like that.
We plan on having somwhere between 50-70 guests.
Any ideas? Any local photographers here that might know of such venues?
-
So far I plan on using just the resort WC and local TA for travel arrangements. But I haven't finalized our location yet and would like to look into having an offsite ceremony & recpetion like at a Hacienda or more historical venue which I think would be best coordinated through a local WP. But I'm guessing my budget won't permit that...

Sticker shock is right! Especillay if photos are really important to you as they are to me.
Future Mrs Kt Ellis, who's your propective photographer?
-
I'm also leaning heavily towards the Royal but for guests with children who would have to walk to the Royal for the wedding, does anyone know how far a walk that is? I'm just thinking of high heels & all...

Too bad this resort isn't opened yet. The modern stylish setting looks great! It's wait & see I guess...
Poor ratings on TripAdisor are due to the fact that they were booked at this resort and weren't told it wasn't open!!! Yikes! That has to make you question Karisma Hotels' overall business & customer service ethics...

I just found another thread for Canadian bride :
http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-please-34783/
Tammy suggested using BDW's Canadian contact, TA Lindsay, but I can't find how to contact her
-
I've travelled once with Sunwing and never again!
I'd rather go through a TA than directly to tour operators.
For Montreal brides:
Since I want a DW in Riviera Maya, and I need someone who speaks French for some of our guests, I've contacted a local TA in Montreal who also happens to be an Event Planner (Group open skies) - Coralie is my contact and she's been to the RM 8 times so she knows the area, weather, best time to travel & resorts well.
-
I here ya jstar... Not easy finding a TA that knows their stuff when it comes to DWs and fits your needs! Since most of our guests are francophone however, that pretty much limits us to local TAs (at least I think!).

That's wonderful! When you know, you know... Even after only one month. So happy for you both. Congratulations!
