  2. thanks for your help ladies! i will email both dj's and see what deals i can get from them. tammy - vendors that are not allowed in Riu are florists, wedding coordinators and photographers. i didnt read anything about a DJ. but like i said, will definitely keep the email monse and paola sent me. btw, do you know which restaurant would be best to hold the reception with good food? we were thinking of the steakhouse but seems like everyone is picking the mexican restaurant. Thanks!

I just hope this keeps up, so I can get everything taken care of before I leave next Saturday!!! Do you have the direct email for Monse? Karla is not responding to my emails! Ah....here I thought a destination wedding was going to be less stressful! Hi Gettingmarried yes carla sent me 3 pages of wedding places i can have my reception. either for semi private or private. also had prices for them. i would email her back and request for the beach. maybe you can call them? might be faster if you can actually get a hold of them. let me know how it goes! good luck

  11. Hi Everyone! Thanks so much for all your replies. I have my date and time set already. Paola has been of tremendous help and responds to all my emails quickly. As for Karla, I only received one email from her with the places I can have the reception. Emailed her back with more questions but no reply. Really really frustrating planning something with no prices!! From reading everyones suggestionin this site, we are going with an ipod since all the dj's seem be bad. We are doing the Caprice Package 2010. Ive seen Mangos pictures and they do a good job. We would like a private reception but dont want to pay $50pp!! Doesnt make sense that I have to pay extra at an all inclusive!
  12. Hola! So, were debating about the DJ. Riu no longer allows outside vendors and Ive read stories about how the DJ was late and did not play the list they wanted. For Riu brides out there...is this true? Should we stick with an ipod instead I cant see a wedding without a DJ. Suggestions pls!
  13. Welcome!!! Good luck planning =)
  14. congrats!!!! after reading some of the reviews from here and tripadvisor, the WC doesnt usually get in contact with the wedding party until 2 months before the big day...this totally blows if this is the case because i would be so nervous in trying to plan things and KNOWING what exactly is going on!! did they at least give you a number for the price per person for the reception and open bar? where are you having your wedding and reception?
  15. Hello Everyone! We finally decided on having the big day in Riu Palace Cabos! We haven't committed to it yet because we still havent had the prices sent to us. Seems that the WC is on the slow side (very slow) in responding to my questions. Has anyone had this problem? We are going with the Caprice 2010 package. Has anyone been married there? Can someone pls help in answering some of my questions? 1- We have about 50+ guests. How much is it per person for open bar and the reception? We want to have it at either Baja Sur or Baja Norte. The pricing is what we really want to know to make sure its within the budget. 2 - I know they no longer allow outside vendors, how is the photographer and DJ? 3 - We have ours at 2 which Im not to happy about because the wait for cocktail and reception time is too long apart. Can you pick what times to have these or are they set? If thats the case, we might have to pick a different day for slot at 4-5pm Any other info anyone has to share would really really be helpful! Thanks so much!!! =)
  16. thanks for the reply! we were thinking of having it in cabos too but got scared when we saw warnings from the US dept about the violence and killing thats going on in mexico. its in a big red exclamation when you go to tripadvisor! had our hearts set on it but now we have to look at other options...hence curacao
  17. i know im late to replying to this thread but we were considering having our wedding in curacao. do you ladies have any suggestions on where to stay and have a wedding there? we are thinking of having our wedding the weekend of thanksgiving this year. hopefully no storms will hit the island at that time. i will have guests traveling with children, are there family stuff to do for them? any help or suggestions i can get will be really helpful!! Thanks!
  18. Hello Girls!! I have been searching for a nice affordable destination wedding in the carribean. My honey and I were looking into T&C but way too expensive for our guests even with AI. We were considering Curacao. Not much thread has been posted about this island. We are looking into having our wedding in November. I know its outside the hurricane belt but we're worried with our luck...a storm will hit. Is it really true that its 80-90 degrees all year with no storms? I kinda find that hard to believe! Has anyone ever been here or had a wedding? Any suggestions on hotels and wedding venues in this island? HELP! All help, suggestions, and comments would be really helpful!! Thanks a bunch!!!
