If that was my wedding I would have been a stress case. and you know what? THANK GOD I DID A DW!!! All the stress and stupid crap we encounter dealing with family and travel issues, Miami coordinators, Lomas, then going through the hotel staff - yes I know its hard - but my wedding in Mexico was stress free and carefree and awesome. Saturday solidified my destination wedding choice that much more. I mean, 1/2 my guests would have missed my ceremony had we been having a traditional wedding on Saturday. I only have a few pictures of the party - I'll do a review later once I get the better pix. Picasa Web Albums - Amy - Stateside Rec... The after party was a bit insane.... hehe Hope you all had a great weekend!! Looks like you guys had a blast!! Sorry for all the drama...but like you said, it makes your DW even more special!!!!! Well... not in my book they didn't close and nor did we follow that rule. Immediately after my wedding, my wedding party & husband all jumped in the pool with their clothes on and then we all immediately changed into our swimsuits and jumped into the adult swim-up bar area bringing all the alcohol and Tecate we had in our rooms since it was obviously closed. A guest hoped over the counter into the bar and served us all pretzels in a margarita glass. It was pretty funny and we noticed security watching us but they didn't say anything Another night we swam up when the bar portion of the adult swim up bar was open, Wave Lounge I think and we asked if they would still serve us even though the pool was closed and they said yes.... they are SUPER lax on their rules. You can use the jacuzzi or pools outside your rooms whenever you want really. I'm sure if you were really loud they may say something I am the same way typically, never on the ground floor and always oceanfront. In this case, I knew the swimups were on the ground floor so it didn't matter to me because the swimup trumped any room in that entire hotel. To each their own, it just depends on what you plan on doing while you're there. mmmmmm LOVE a Malbec and Tempranillo! LOVE some Italian wine like a Barolo!! Ready for some wine! I haven't drank this week due to the ole wedding diet. Fi and I are hUGE winos. We buy a case of wine every 2-3 weeks! YIKES!!! That sounds like SO much fun after the wedding!!!!!! YAY! I also wrote it all down in the order I was to apply it in AND I watched wedding makeup video tutorials on YouTube. Yes, Lady Di here on BDW used Mac down there I believe and her makeup is stunning! She’s also a very naturally pretty girl but you should ask her. Woo hoo!! Thank you very much! It’s nice to have control and know exactly how you want to look on your wedding HAHA DUH!!!! Sorry about that! I contacted Lady Di! Thanks for your help

I did look into the photographers the resort offered and was not too impressed, so this was a better fit for us since photos are pretty important. I think you will be SO happy you did this!!

Do you have girlfriends that are good at makeup? You could ask them or bring pictures of what you want. I did my trial in January and literally every time I put on makeup, which is really only for the weekends, I practiced doing my wedding look and perfecting it and practicing put on eyelashes. Now I'm actually really good at doing my makeup and got a lot of compliments on my wedding makeup from other brides asking me who I used. D just 2 days ago mentioned something about how gorgeous my makeup was and asked who I used! I said, hello I did it myself, you didn't know? He said, "wow! It was really good, you should be a makeup designer!" I don't know what a makeup designer is but I'll take it as a compliment. LOL, omg I would smack him! You should start faking him out and showing him pictures of things you "decide" on that are really ugly, not your actual decisions but just to freak him out... omg I'm mean aren't I? hahaha you're FI is too cute! Your makeup was beautiful! My future sis in law did this same thing. She practiced for months! Everyday she would practice her wedding makeup (I'm sure they thought she was beautiful at work everyday!) haha. It turned out perfectly! I want to do this but I can see this happening: Me starting to do it...then washing my face and starting over...then getting a little further along, and washing my face and starting over again...then start freaking out...then have one of my friends do it and not be satisfied! I really don't know what to do. Has anyone heard anything about the mac in cancun?

  20. Hey girls!!! I thought I would share my pocketfold invites. I designed and constructed these all by myself. Thanks for all the ideas from the forum!! This was definitely not an easy project, definitely a labor of love. BUT I LOVE how they turned out and how personalized they are. I had so much fun with graphic design part of the project! The center is the actual "invitation" and the pocket contains two pieces that contain contain info and a schedule of events for the weekend. The colors are a metallic charcoal gray and a metallic hot pink, fuchsia. The white is a pearlescent white. It is kind of hard to see in the pictures. Thanks again for all of the inspiration ladies!!!! Details: The paper, pockets, and envelopes all came from Card Stock, Vellum Paper, Envelopes, Metallic Cardstock, Invitation Cards Specialty Wedding Stationery - Paperandmore.com. The gray is steel gray metallic cardstock, the pink is Pink Azalea metallic pockets (6 1/4" Square Himalaya), and the white paper is the Pearlescent Metallic Paper, Text Weight in Pearl White. The envelopes are 6 1/2" Square Steel Gray Metallic. You can order samples from the site. They are VERY reasonable, provide quick turnaround, and are always having sales. I used them for my DIY save the dates as well. I used spray glue to glue each piece together. It worked very well, but it was MESSY! For the calligraphy on the outside, I sought out a lady on etsy. She is AWESOME and very reasonable. I think her total turnaround time, including shipping, was 4 days. Please see her etsy listing at Calligraphy Envelope Addressing Discount by ArtfulCelebrations. My stamps came from zazzle.com. I thought that was a nice lil cheesy touch! haha Please let me know if you have any questions! ENJOY!!
