Mine's not THAT bad either. I still need to burn a CD with our ceremony music, I need place cards & table numbers, I have to finish labelling our "wedding week survival kits"...and the list goes on. I'm pretty sure I can get it done this weekend. Oh yeah, and finish my planning thread! That's my favorite part of BDW!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one freaking out! haha I work in marketing for an oil and gas pipeline company and we're in the middle of this big settlement with our stakeholders. Just bad timing! I can only do what I can do. I refuse to stay late! haha So looked at my list again and it really is do-able. I still have this weekend to get finished!

I'm SO not ready yet! I'm officially having a freakout. I finally started making a list of the stuff I want to get done before we go and it was MUCH bigger than I thought it was! FREAKING OUT! Hopefully this weekend is productive!

Ok, so I'm officially having a freakout. I've been calm, cool and collected up until this point but it's finally hit me that I leave in a week and a half and I still have lots to do! On top of the wedding stuff, my boss just hit me with a list of the stuff she'd like me to have done before I leave and it's rediculously overwhelming. ARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! Ok, deep breath. Thanks for the vent.

Yay Midnight! You're married!! Congrats! It sounds like it's hot hot hot there! We just had a freak snowstorm on Saturday so I'm looking forward to some great vacation weather! Question for those that recently had or are planning to have a DJ - what price were you quoted? Karla just quoted me $210/hour which is quite a bit more than I've been reading on here! Now it's got me questioning if it's worth it...
-
Cara, that would have been hilarious if we ran into each other in matching outfits! Too funny. What day do you leave? I see your big day is the day after mine!

Sounds awesome Chrissy! So, as mentioned previously I had my stagette last night! I had an absolute blast! The girls through me a beach themed shower so everyone showed up wearing their best beach attire. Here's what I got to wear (so the spandex did come in handy!) And it wouldn't be spring time in Calgary if a freak blizzard doesn't strike: Sure makes me happy we're leaving in two weeks!!

I had my stagette last night! So fun! We started at my bridesmaid's house and then went to Vinyl. I had never been there before but it was SO fun! Great 90's dance music! The girls through me a beach themed shower/stagette. Here's my outfit, later they added a veil, white lei and of course beads with a "bride" shot glass! And the freak blizzard that blew in last night just to lend a little irony to the party! I had an absolute blast. Can't believe we leave in two weeks from today!

I feel your pain JT! I got a wicked head cold this week (probably shouldn't have gone skiing on Monday with a sore throat...ah well, had a great time!) and missed 2 days of work. I was tempted to stay home all week just so I'd feel 100% for my stagette tomorrow! Karen, my line-up is pretty easy too. My sister and FI's bro are MOH and BM so that was a given, then a married couple, a brother/sister combo and then the "spares". As for last names, I love my last name and getting "hey, are you related to..." I have a large extended family and we all grew up in the same city so it's pretty well known. But FI and I have been dating for a VERY long time and I've been practicing my new signature since I was 16 years old so "Mrs. Robinson" doesn't feel so strange <---oh yeah, put that in the "con" column! Guaranteed that that song will break out during the reception.

I'll let you all know what happens...

Thanks for the shout-out Shannon! I can't believe you leave so soon! I joined this thread like 8 months ago and I can't believe it's time for some us to leave already! You girls leave SO soooon! I can't wait to hear all about it! I'm having my girls walk down to "Better Together" by Jack Johnson. It's light and fun and leads well into my song!

Ummm...floating beer pong table That's GENIUS!

So the mugs I ordered from Discountmugs.com came in last night (4 days before the estimated arrival date)!! I ordered 50 mugs for $245 CDN, ended up with 52, and they're AWESOME!! They look SO good! The best part is...there was NO DUTY OR TAXES! FI got home from work and the boxes were right on our front step! I'll post a pic when I get home tonight. Bottom line: I would highly recommend Discountmugs!

Still jealous of those arms Nadine. I have a little over 3 weeks to get mine to look like that! haha Time's really ticking away now! Lots to do! Bridal Shower #1 is on saturday. I was updating my registry and I hate that I can see what's already been purchased! Well, hate AND love because I see we got the Dyson vacuum that we desperately needed. WHOOP WHOOP!

Bring the dress on the plane. I don't care how huge it is, I highly doubt anyone would tell a bride "I'm sorry, you're going to have to cram that in an overhead bin or check it". Maybe if they had a death wish... Thanks for reassuring me about the programs girls. I had made up my mind not to do them but I was getting that nagging "but what if someone thinks it's weird that I don't have them" feeling. I'm over it. Thanks! I'm almost done my pre-departure brochure and I have a wedding day itinerary on it with a disclaimer that says "will be confirmed upon arrival" so that should do the trick.

Guests saying that resort is too expensive...i'm so frustraded

Good Luck!!! I agree with Jen here. For us, it was more important that our closest friends and family be there so we could spend an entire week together. When we were first planning, we discussed costs with our VIPs and agreed on a price range that they would be comfortable with. We kept in mind that not everyone would choose to vacation in Mexico so we weren't just asking them to pay to attend our wedding, they were also giving us a week of their vacation time. We figured we'd have a gorgeous and perfect wedding at any resort and like Jen, we decided to go all out on a more expensive resort (plus upgrades!) for our honeymoon! Talk to your FI and decide if the setting is really more important than the people there! Check out reviews of the hundreds of resorts in the Mayan. If you can be flexible on your exact date (say the day before or after) I'm sure you can find one that offers you an amazing wedding for a price your guests will want to pay! -
Thanks for not thinking I'm crazy ladies! I had bought new wedding shoes and since the FI's in Vegas for his stag this weekend I thought I'd try on my dress so make sure the shoes work...and then I thought I might as well put the jewelry on too! Cara, hopefully your dress comes back a little earlier so you don't have to freak out! And then you'll also have a few days to sit around the house in it like me.

Confession #1: I didn't do anything on my list this weekend. Confession #2: I'm sitting here in my wedding dress, shoes and jewelery. ONE MONTH TO GO!!
