  1. Just gorgeous!!! I absolutely LOVE the colors!! Makes me think of a Mexican Fiesta!
  2. I'll post some pics, too, once they are complete. If you are interested, here is what I have for travel info: Travel Details Passport Information While Mexico does not require a passport to enter their country (a birth certificate is sufficient), as of June 1, 2009, all US citizens will be required to hold a US passport to re-enter the United States by land, sea or air. So, unless you plan to make Puerto Vallarta your next residence, you’ll need a passport to get back home! If you don’t already have one, visit Passport Home for detailed information. Allow 4 – 6 weeks for routine processing and 2 – 3 weeks for expedited. Climate Historical Temperatures in May average 77˚F, with a High of 85˚F and Low of 70˚F. Humidity averages 87% - 68%. Water temperature is around 79˚F. Getting Around With more than 1,000 taxis in town, there is no problem hailing one. Taxi fares are set in Puerto Vallarta; the average fare is around $30 pesos or $3 USD. A trip across town is about $60 pesos or $6.00 USD. If you plan on doing any day excursions to some of the surrounding cities and beaches, renting a car is an easy and inexpensive option. There are many rental establishments at the airport, in town, or near your hotel. If you would like more information, just ask us!

Any ideas would be good. thanks For travel information, this is what I have so far: - Passport Info - Climate/Weather - Getting Around (taxi info) I may add something else? Thoughts?
  4. Oh, and have you checked out their facebook page? They show a lot of their "behind the scenes" work...it is truly amazing!
  5. You can be involved as much or as little as you want. I think what they mean by keeping the details secret, is they have a way of surprising their brides with unexpected details that are above and beyond. I'm working with them and I'm one who likes to be involved...I've used an inspiration board and described my vision, and I also ask a lot of questions along the way to clarify and so I have a better idea and comfort level. They are super cheerful, patient, and quick to respond...so I have been just loving the process!!! Believe me...you will be part of the fun!
  6. I've been looking around the forum and having trouble finding what I'm looking for, so I thought I'd ask you all! Let me know if you've found a good thread on this... What inserts are you including with your invitations? Here is what I'm thinking or what I have so far... - RSVP postcard (of course!) - Travel Information - Accomodtion Information What else? Should I include something about possible activities? (fishing, zip line tours, etc.) Or, something about the welcome reception? (I was thinking of adding that to the welcome basket later - haven't picked a location yet). What else would be helpful to the guests/travellers?? Thanks!!!
  7. Hi Everyone! I'm trying to figure out where to have my welcome reception / cocktail party. I want to do something pretty casual. I was either thinking of finding a restaurant that is beachfront and reserving an area on the sand and having buckets of beer and tacos. Or, doing something at a fun bar/grill type place that maybe has pool tables or something, and having the same thing, tacos and buckets of beer. Do you guys have any ideas? I have already contacted El Dorado...they seem to have a nice vibe, but wasn't sure about he food - I told them my idea, but they presented me with a taco buffet of shrimp, chicken and beef fajitas. Too me that even seems too formal...I was thinking paper plates of "street tacos" and lots of chips and salsa to go around. Any thoughts on places Thanks!!
  8. Hey Jess!! I saw your pics when The Dazzling Details posted them and they are amazing!!! I was so excited to see them!!! Beautiful wedding!!!
  9. Can't wait to see your pics!!! I booked Elizabeth Lloyd, too, and I'm soooo excited!!! Love her style!!
  10. Thank you for the suggestions!! My WC is working on some options for me...I think she is asking Plush to put together a menu that is more toward what I'm looking for. I did see their current menu, but it was definitely more what I would call "asian - spanish - mediterranean fusion," which I'm sure it great...but not quite authentic Mexican! Anyway, I'll wait to see what she comes up with and share if you all are interested!!
  11. Great shoes!!! Thanks! And, yup, you are right about the DIYs in the first set, bottom row. They are Stuart Weitzmans that a bride (FrekeChild) at Pricescope crystalized herself!! Aren't they great!
  12. Your wedding at Le Kliff will be beautiful!!! Don't worry!! When I went to the wedding there, we all stayed at Presidente Intercontinental - it was really nice and further south towards Le Kliff. Yeah, I think it is just that Janice does not need the money, so she just does things her way or no way. That is the impression I got. I would really recommend just going to see the place at least...maybe do your wedding night there It is truly spectacular!
  13. I went to a wedding at Le Kliff - and it was a huge wedding, so we did take over the restaurant. However, the food was AWFUL. I could not even eat my entree...and neither could most of the people at the table. We had shrimp scampi or some type of prawns and they tasted old/frozen, and had some strange sauce on them. YUCK! The view is gorgeous, but the ceremony site was a few people sitting and most standing, looking down from above. It was pretty, but kind of strange. Also, I don't think they used a PA system, so we could not hear a thing. The DJ/Dancing part was probably the best part. IMO, I would not have my wedding there...nor would I recommend it. As far as Hacienda San Angel, well I am getting married there! Ceremony only, though. IMO, HSA is incomprable!!! There is nothing else like it!!! It is so beautiful and so special. I truly love it. We stayed there for one night in 2004 and have been dreaming of returning ever since. Now we are getting married there! I would've had the reception there, too, but I didn't like the idea of having the ceremony and reception in the exact same room. I did think about renting out the rooms of the main hacienda and trying to have a reception there, but I don't know how possible this is - I think if there are other guests, you have to stick to the main event space (puerto del cielo). If you rent all the rooms of the main hacienda, you may be able to have it there, but then it is expensive for you and your guests to do this. Also, we wanted to "party 'til the break of dawn" and I don't think HSA is exactly the place for this. If I was to do it there, I would probably have done an afterparty at a local club (De Santos). As far as quality of food, I can tell you that the food we had there in 2004 was amazing. The owner, Janice, seems to be a bit of a perfectionist, and has great taste, so I think she demands quality. We has a welcome cocktail hour when we were there that is standard for guests staying at the hotel, and it was chicken wings and margaritas - but let me tell you, these were "gourmet" chicken wings and the BEST margaritas I've ever had (fresh lime juice!). I have read the comments about Janice, and I agree, she is probably pretty particular, but she does have great taste. And, if you just let things fall into her hands, you will be okay. But, if you have a lot of your own ideas about decor, agenda, etc., you may be better somewhere else. I will say that when we stayed there in 2004, we really liked her. She made you feel as if you are a welcome guest in her home - which is pretty much what you are, since it is her home. We came in late one night and grabbed a few beers from the main kitchen fridge - yes, we felt comfortable enough to do that! The decor and feel of the place is just gorgeous! No one anywhere I've ever stayed has gone to that detail. Every nook and cranny of the place is beautiful. So, for me, I feel like I am getting the best of both worlds - ceremoy at HSA, reception at private villa that has a similar feeling to HSA. Also, I think we may stay our wedding night at HSA. And, possibly host a family brunch there the next day. It was really important for us to incorporate HSA into our wedding. It is a very special place! Hope that helps - feel free to ask me any questions!!
  14. Wow! That does seem really expensive. Where were you planning to set it up? Maybe there are some other, less expensive options. Are you just planning in case of rain?

My brother married a catholic in a catholic church and didn't have to be baptised...he just had to do the marriage classes beforehand. We definitely don't want a full mass...so it looks like it just might be an option for us outside the church!
  16. Along the same lines...do any of you know if you can have a catholic ceremony (or just by a catholic priest) not in a church? I'm not catholic but my FI is. We aren't getting married in a church, but he has expressed interest in having a catholic ceremony. Just curious if anyone knows if this is possible... Thanks!!

  18. I've read all the threads on Caterers in Puerto Vallarta, but so far I can't seem to find what I'm looking for - hoping some of you ladies can help. I want a caterer that can do authentic, old world, upscale mexican cuisine. I'm also a "foodie," so I want something that is really yummy and "wows" me. I'm *hopefully* having my rehearsal dinner at El Arrayan. I've eaten there before and was very impressed with their food. Very unique. So, they are not an option for the reception. Here are some restaurants that I found on chowhound (a "foodie" website), but never eaten at any of 'em...and not even sure if they do catering: Agave Grill Hacienda Xochitl Red Cabbage Cafe Xitomates Does anyone have any feedback or recommendations

  20. Puerto del Cielo is technically not a church or a chapel, more like an event space designed to look like a chapel. We wanted a "church-like" ceremony without it being about any particular religion. It is a beautiful space!! The hotel/hacienda is spectacular, too! Let me know if you have any questions!! 22. I'm using DD, too!! And, I'm soooo excited!!! Funny side note...I had a dream the other night about my wedding and nothing was decorated, the chapel was under construction, the officiant didn't show, the reception was in a restaurant and all we had was one big table that wasn't set. Then, I woke and thought..."glad I don't have to worry about any of this...DD's handling it!!!
