Katie's to-do's:
- decide on songs for ceremony got 2 songs of 3 sorted
- FI to finish ordering his TTD suit as this is a FI to-do, of course he's not done it!
- WORK OUT and diet (maybe not the diet bit...may just try to eat a little less! lol) i've been kicking ass with the exercise and in doing it, it has made me eat less so I guess that's kinda dieting!!
- get black basque and LBD for BD photoshoot done
- try on all BD outfits to make sure I'm happy done
- look for and get BM shoes done
- get flowergirls to the shops to buy their dresses, shoes and hairbands done - also got paige boy suit
- order my shoes done and got
- research and try to find as cheap as possible guest signing frame for Mexico slacked on this one!

New to do's:
- finalise songs for ceremony
- FI to order his suit trousers for TTD
- carry on working out
- research and try to find as cheap as possible guest signing frame for Mexico
- look for materials for AHR table decorations and favours
- update wedding budget spreadsheet with spending
- update wedding spreadsheet with RSVPs for AHR
- find cake stand for AHR wedding cake

Right girls....I'm up wayyyy too late and am off to bed now.

 

BD shoot tomorrow - 1pm and i'm absolutely cacking it!! excited as well though.

 

photog did say I could bring one person, and they could be with me while i have my hair and make up done, but she'd have to wait outside while I had my shoot as there's not enough room in the studio for someone else....she was really nice about it so I'm not fuming, but I will be going on my own.

 

Just packed my suitcase of goodies!!

 

so much to do in the morning to get ready before I leave!!

they're GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!! and I am in love with your bridal bouquet! you must be soooo pleased with them!

and I took your girls advice and have emailed my photog and asked if I could bring one friend with me, so I'll just wait and see. I'll let you know when I do!

oh girls, I know exactly how you all feel - I have at more occasions than I care to remember contemplated sodding everyone else off out of it and just going me and FI. then there's been the occasions when I've debated just not getting married at all.

 

all I'll say is that this is what we all decided we wanted to do, so we should trust our decisions, and sod anyone who puts a dampener on it.

 

we only get this experience once, let's make the most of it and make it as happy as we can

OMG wednesday is coming round sooooo quick!! I think I'm as sorted as I'm ever going to be...but that's not necessarily as sorted as I should be! just panicking I think....I'll be glad when I've done it and I can forget about it. I've spent so long stressing about this - I'll love it, i know that, but I will be relieved when it's over.

ah thanks hun, but it's been a bit tainted got a reply from my photog on Friday, sorting some details out, and I'd said how much my friends were looking forward to it...then I get an email back saying I can't bring anyone with me!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF?!?!?!??!

after calming down and having the weekend to think it over, I've decided not to do anything about it (yet) as I don't want to start a row with someone who I NEED to feel comfortable around and with on Wednesday. I'm annoyed though as when I was booking with her I had to change the dates and explained it was because my friend wasn't free then, so she knew then about me bringing someone.

sooooooo.... that means I have to drive myself there which then means I can't have a drink!!! arrrggghhh!! still, I'm sure it will all be fine anyway, just annoying it's not working out how I thought it would.

I know there's a similar thread already, but I wanted to get advice specifically from UK brides in case it's any different!

 

I am flying with Thomson and have been told I can take my dress on as hand luggage...so far so good....then at a later date I got told yes as hand luggage, but that it needs to comply with their luggage dimensions - 50 x 40 x 20. I just can't see my dress fitting in something so small.

 

I wanted to carry it on and hang it up.

 

Has anyone else had an experience with this? I really don't want to have to put it in a suitcase and put it into the hold

BD shoot is on Wednesday!!!!!!!!!!! keep going through waves of being really excited and then waves of panic...guess which one I'm going through now?! lol

 

and hen night (think you guys call it something else!) is in 3 weeks....can't wait but I can't even remember the last time I got drunk. I'm seriously thinking I need to practice drinking before then or I'm going to be a state before we've even got to the club!! and don't know what to wear!! argh! something else to sort out!! lol

hey Christa...firstly...BIG hug! I know you say you're relieved but it's still not nice.

weird thing is that is pretty much EXACTLY what my MOH did to me...over text and saying we've drifted apart bla bla bla. as well as a whole other bunch of things.

like Amy said, we have now sorted it out, but end result is she's not coming to mexico (said she couldn't afford it and the time away from her boys) and she won't be having a BM role at my AHR either....oh and she's now going to Dominican with her boyfriend (no kids) the week before we fly out to Mexico.

SO...I am totally sympathising with you! though you sound much more positive about it all than I did! but good for you!

it sounds like it was the right thing to happen, and she saved you the job of it. and you've made the effort with her and she hasn't wanted to know - what more could you do

wooooo! wedding band delivered today....and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!

today I have got done.... (and yes, i should be in bed, yet here I am anyway!!)

 

- booked seats on flight (not on my list of things to do but we all know how that feels!)

- written out, compiled, stamped and enveloped up extra invites for more AHR guests

- starting going through my guest list for AHR and texting people for replies (those of you on my facebook you will probably also have seen my status!! haha)

- updated my wedding spreadsheet for AHR guests - put numbers in from the responses we've had so far and added the extra guests we've invited

- paid my final balance (again!) for my new wedding ring and arranged for it to be delivered to my work TOMORROW!!

 

and that's it so far. but I'm determined....if I get all these things done then there's nothing left to stress about and we'll all be happy again

 

hope your lists are all going well too!

this is a great rule to have....it does get a little frustrating when some occasional siggys take up some much unnecessary space.

yeah it does depend on what you want! i've seen some where girls have made a theme of the props or had certain props for certain pictures, but I've equally seen lots where (as these other girls have said) they've just had them and an outfit.

 

I do love the idea of the car calendar/book tho

ah guys, thank you all so so so much for your support and cheering me up! whilst I don't wish anyone else was going through it too, it does kinda make me feel better that it's not just us.

 

we had a major bust up on Sunday and Lindz, like you, I thought we'd got to the point of having to call it all off. we're ok now, got everything sorted out the same day but I hate having times like that. FI text me yesterday and told me he promised me it would all be worth it in the end and he'd try to stop stressing as much

 

it sucks tho because I want to be sooo excited about it all, but at the moment I just feel like I can't wait for it all to be over. and Amy, like you, everyone's saying 'you must be so excited, or 'how exciting' and I'm thinking 'yeah right'! I want to stick needles in my eyes at the moment!

 

I want it to go back to being FUN!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, that sounds like you had a brilliant time in AS!! what great service they gave you!! And soooo many outfits...that's great - you're more prepared than me now!

First off, don't panic! You would have a fab photoshoot with just what you've got so all is ok If you want to get props, the ideas I would have are things like....

- a feather
- a feather boa
- a lollipop (depends on the look you're going for!!)
- maybe one of your wedding invites to have next to you in a pic
or a pic of both of you together
- a garter
- in relation to the car idea, how about a calendar (as the pics are bigger) and you can hold the month you're getting married, and the pic (hopefully) will be his ideal car....his 2 favourite things in the same pic!

how did you first day in your new job go??

I'm not sleeping great either me and FI have been at each others throats over the weekend and whilst things are generally ok, I think the stress of the wedding is getting to us both....wondered if maybe a common thing this close to the wedding?

FI is mega, mega stressed about money so that doesn't help.

The wedding seems to have lost all feeling and emotion and like it's just one big stress! I know it's just right now it feels like that, and it will get better, but as the time gets closer and money gets tighter and tighter, this is becoming less fun

Sorry to moan....I know you guys will/can cheer me up!

Just a week and a day to go for me!

Hey Lin....I know, I'm so excited and scared! part of me is really looking forward to it and part of me just wants to get it over with! but I will make sure I share my pics (if I can)...not sure if I get them on CD or not!

oh yes, it's getting quite interesting with families! for some reason my mum doesn't seem to be that involved or excited about it all; FI's family are quite argumentative and every time any of them have a row with anyone else, the first thing to come out is 'I'm not going Mexico' .....but on the whole it's all ok. For us I suppose now it's a lot more simple as everyone is on a package holiday there and on our booking and they're all paid up so no choice now!!

and yep, I totally feel like a broken record talking about it all the time!! BUT, it's not totally my fault - if people want to ask me what I did at the weekend, they have to be prepared for it being wedding-related!! haha.

Think when it's all over I'm going to be jealous of everyone still waiting to get married!!

I've asked Ana for a list of what she still needs from me (trying to be helpful!) but she hasn't got back to me yet. I think I know what I need to confirm/decide, but I just want to make sure I've covered everything. I have no doubts though that whatever doesn't get sorted before we leave will be sorted out as soon as we get to the resort. We've got a meeting booked with her the morning after we arrive, and with all the rave reviews people have given her I have no worries at all

Amber - did you get all your packing done this weekend? I'm so excited for my countdown already...I can't imagine how excited you must be being that close!!!!!!!!!!!
