ooo good luck with yours on Monday and your hair next Thursday - we are getting super close now hey? but pleased to say we both sound like everything's coming together
ooo do we get to see your shoe clips?
yeah I will do one - there's loads of things I haven't got round to posting pics of on here that I've promised I will so may just save it all up for then! but mine will be nowhere near as detailed as yours!! can't believe you've started it already!! so organised. -
oh I forgot!!! my TTD came through yesterday too!!!!!!!
I LOVE IT!! it only cost $40 (yep, that's not a typo!) cost me more than that in shipping costs but it looks great on. you can tell close up that it's not as good a quality as my proper dress, but I wouldn't want it to be.
my mum has already said it looks too nice to trash!! haha as did my dad and his wife!
-
amy - I am totally loving your pics!!! that is such a great idea and it looked like it all worked out really well!
so, yesterday I went for my final fitting (after last time they took the dress in 2 inches).....was supposed to bring it home with me yesterday but it needs to be taken in more! I knew I'd lost weight but I swear I haven't lost enough to have it taken in again! so, I haven't got it yet! Had to have an argument with them in the shop as they don't do alterations at weekends or in the evenings and I refused outright to have to book ANOTHER day off work just to have another alteration that they should have got right the first time! (I feel bad enough that I'll be off work for 3 weeks without keep booking days off for everything else!) so I got them to agree to stay late one night and I've got to rush home from work next Wednesday and get there for 7.30pm! fingers crossed, this is the last one!
Also took my wedding shoes and my wedding jewellary (necklace and earrings) and it all works so well together, I'm really pleased. I decided on the white/ivory wedding shoes...mainly because you can't see them even when I walk lol but I am wearing the pink ones on Saturday for my hen night and I will take them to Mexico just in case I change my mind!
I have got my hair trial with my hair dresser on Saturday (so I can take pictures and take it to the resort). Found a couple of tiaras I liked yesterday so bought 2 and will take them with me to see which looks best with however I have my hair. Also bought a bracelet that really compliments my necklace and earrings
I'm so excited about my hen night! I've been so busy with wedding stuff I haven't seen enough of my girlfriends and with all our money going on the wedding, I haven't been able to afford to go out so this is a much needed night all round. and I'm excited as my theme is pink and black! - love it!! photos I'm sure will be up on facebook!

hey Amber!
thank you so much for the review - these are always so helpful
re: the sunset time I think I should be ok - we're also getting married at 4pm but the sun isn't due to set until approx 7.15pm so fingers crossed!
re: reception - I need to ask your advice on this (if I can!). We are a small party (about 20 of us in total) and at the moment we have asked to have our reception on the terrace outside. Do you think the banquet hall would be better?? I'm worried now the terrace will be too big for only 3 tables of people lol! your pics from your reception in the baquet hall seemed much more suitable but I can't decide! any advice?!?!
thanks

I hope you get this sorted out - that sucks. has anything else happened since you posted this? surely if they know they've lost them, they know you must have had promotional rates? is there NOTHING they can do for you?? -
hey Lolo!
brilliant of you to post such an open and honest review. i think it's good for future brides to know there are things that won't be how they imagined, but your day will still turn out perfect.
congratulations again!

Hey. Yeah I think this is just for the UK - our flights are pants! Our airline won't even let you pay to carry on the dresses now... Apparently it's health and safety. I only checked due to our many restrictions travelling from the UK.
-
oh oh oh....it's just turned midnight here - now it's 31 days until we fly, and 36 days until we get married!! lol woop woop!!
-
hey girls
I feel I need to apologise - I don't seem to have been on here much and giving people support as much as usual....getting so close to the wedding, the list of things to do is getting longer and more urgent!
I have been off work yesterday and today - yesterday I just couldn't get myself going lol so I did loads today instead!
1. went through all your kind posts and messages about my pics and used that as a guidance as to which ones to pick (this did take a lot of time as I'm sad and did write out all the numbers and tallied up which ones people had voted for so I could see which were clear winners!! lol - yes I'm a geek!!).
2. came up with 12 pics I really wanted and messaged my photog back and added comments on all of them as to what I want her to do with them!
3. tried to find out once and for all what the hell we need in order to make sure our marriage is legal - there and back here (closer we get, the more I'm worrying about this). so I phoned the Mexican embassy in the UK and asked their advice. they gave me the number for the Mexican consulate and website - for any UK brides, this is really useful. so spoke to them and got all the info I needed feel much better now.
4. phoned our TA wedding team to confirm they agreed with the Mexican consulate...they're requirements were a little different but they're looking into checking it out to update their records. also got confirmation that we don't need to do anything to the marriage certificate out in Mexico. and it's legal here in the Uk without us doing anything. but we can get it officially translated when we get back and register it here so they have a copy.
5. also spoke to the TA wedding team about my dress - they no longer allow anyone to carry a dress on, and all wedding dresses must be packed in a 55x40x20 cm box and weigh less than 5kg (shame the wedding dress shop can't/won't/don't know how much my dress weighs!) so now I need to find a box and somewhere that will pack it for me.
6. researched and bought name cards for AHR
7. researched and bought favour gift bags for AHR
8. found somewhere to hire a cake stand for AHR
9. tried to confirm dates and details with reception venue but no-one answered - left a message and waiting for someone to call me back.
PHEW! I'm shattered!! lol
hope everyone's going good with their lists....
this is all starting to feel very real now. 32 days now until we fly out and 37 days until we get married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! tomorrow i'll be able to say 'I'm getting married next month!!'
Amy, I love that you're packing already! I haven't even had time to think about that - I'm impressed!
much love girlies
-
thanks everyone for your help...
I have decided that there's no way in hell it's going in the hold, so somehow I have to get it on as hand luggage, and have someone else take all my stuff that I actually want for hand luggage!!
going to make a few phone calls tomorrow but I'll let you all know how I get on...I don't think my dress will fit in a box! (has to be 55 x 40 x 20cms)
thanks again girls

just wanted to say a joint thank you to all you girls who have looked through, commented and let me know which ones you like - I have been really touched by the effort you've all put in and you've made me feel amazing. I was still a little unsure of whether they were really good or not, but you've all really reassured me and I'll love you all loads for that
I've now got to find some time away from FI to go through all your fav ones and use that to help me decide which ones to use! I only get 8 with my package but i'll probably buy another 5 or 6.
thank you all so so so much again you girls are the best! -
Ok, no laughing....I'm putting my life on the line here.....
here's ALL my BD shots....with NO retouching...YET!
To view your images just go to: http://aspgalleries.zenfolio.com/katiegboudoir
and enter the password: (going to be annoying and ask you to message me for the password - I'm conscious that anyone can look on here and click on it, hope you all understand)
These are the processed images but are not yet retouched, retouching includes: line, spot + dark circle removal, skin smoothing, lump and bump removal, background and outfit corrections, and small colour/tone adjustments.
Let me know the numbers of the ones that you would like as 9x6 retouched prints. The number shows in the corner of the image, on the right, when it is selected, and also underneath the image
************************************************** *******
let me know which numbers you think are the best as they are (if any lol) and which would be the best to get retouched...I hate making decisions!

I had a good day....didn't really have a laugh tho as I was on my own so was feeling a bit sorry for myself but she made me feel really comfortable. had about 5/6 different outfits but didn't get round to any topless, nudes or implied nudes.....2 hours just isn't enough time!
photog was raving about how good the pics were and how pleased she was with them so I'm hopeful, but still have that fear of 'what if I'm the only person they don't manage to make look good'??!!! but pics should be up on an online gallery with a password in 2 days.
I'll keep you all posted!!
but my tips:
- TAKE SOMEONE WITH YOU to make it fun and so there's someone to speak up for you if you're like me and don't!
despite all that though, i'd still do it all over again and I cannot wait to see my pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

always great to have another UK bride/FSIL on here
Just a heads up, I was getting married at this resort, but ended up changing as the costs started adding up. We are also flying from the UK and there's about 20 of us.
The money's not a bad thing and should no way put her off booking here, but for us it was working out more expensive than what we envisaged for our 'cheaper' wedding abroad.
If she can afford it, I'm very jealous! lol

I had planned to be married at 5pm and now Im worried there will be no sun for pictures! I may change that!
Just a question...what did your guests do between your ceremony and dinner? because I belive ana said we have the banquet hall from 7-10.
Also, if you could send me pics that would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks again!!!! -Krystal
We're getting married at 4pm - maybe that would be a better time? give you more time for the ceremony and then pictures after?
It's soooo close!! how's all your planning going? you nearly all set? it's only 25 days until we fly out now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
