  1. I am having the hardest time deciding what to walk down the aisle to!! I am going to have a steel drum band play the song. The girls are going to walk down to 'One Love' by Bob Marley - I know its be done a thousand times but I love it. I want something reggae-ish too but have no clue!

    Any suggestions?

  2. Ohhh ok, i thought it was off-resort. Thanks!

The resort videographer did take a "true" video. They attached a mike on my husband (then Fiance) and the minister so when everything is heard clearly (even the wind) and the video quality is pretty good, after the ceremony/picture session the videographer asked us to do some poses and those are the ones i had issues with (not the quality, just the corniness of the posing). It's not such a big deal though, a friend of mine will edit the beginning out and it will be perfect.

The Mexican restaurant as I said is open between 11pm - 7am, they don't serve alcohol drinks, we sneaked drinks from the club before they closed...another thing i liked about this resort, you can take your drinks anywhere, for instance, their room service does not include alcoholic beverages but you can go to the bar and get as many drinks as you can carry back to your room and it's all good...anyway, back to the Mexican restaurant, they have a salad & fixing bar and someone who mans a grill with assortment of meats for burgers, hot dogs, grilled meats (beef & chicken). We went there twice, the day of the wedding and once after we returned from Margaritaville Night Club in downtown MoBay, so both times we were amply buzzed, it may not be as good as we thought. We had so much fun though.

Don't miss a trip to Margaritaville if you are a night owl. There is a free hourly shuttle  to the club from 11pm - 1am andreturn trip from 1am - 2:30am. http://www.margaritavillecaribbean.com/montegobay.html.

Princess J - I am having a rehersal dinner at the Cajun Restaurant, but no welcome dinner. I'm doing a group outing one night and just didn't want to overload their vacation with my stuff - I want them to use their vacation as they like and keep the 'wedding' stuff to a minimum.

  5. Hi Ladies!

Just wanted to share a source I found for those zip-up badge holders you attach to wrist coils for tip money/room keys. https://www.acklandsgrainger.com/AGIPortalWeb/WebSource/ProductDisplay/globalProductDetailDisplay.do?item_code=IDM1815-1110

They are close in price to the American websites and they have a lot of retail locations. I am driving to pick mine up tomorrow - so no shipping costs! and they sell them in whatever quantity you want.

  6. Thanks for letting me know how much they were. I knew they'd be costly. I also already knew about the nice 'wicker' chairs at the steakhouse (I'm getting married at the 'beach' resort but they have the same chairs at their steak house) and I do plan on using them, thought the low back them might be an issue with my chair swags... we'll see!!

Chivari chairs were $6 a pop at taiflora, I just had to spedge but later on i thought the regular chairs that they used at the steakhouse  would be perfect if you don't want covers. Here is the picture of the chairs i am talking about.

Just ask Nicole, i am sure you can use them if you don't want to use the chair covers.

However, now I regret now going to see the Suites as well, considering they were right next door. Ugh! What's a girl to do? Can anyone offer suggestions re either resort? Sorry if this thread may have already been posted, but this issue is a must to resolve. Thanks!

I think you answered your own question! They are both beautiful, with nicer rooms at the suites and more restaurant selection (because you can eat at the beach's restaurants) but the suites is more pricey than the beach. I myself chose the Beach simply for the cost to my guests. Either way you'll be happy!!

For our reception, I have asked all the bridesmaid and friends to pick 5 songs they like to hear in a row. Then we are making a playlist so we have different variety and styles. which can play through dinner. And if the DJ needs any help at the party we can also give it to him cheesy.gif

We are doing the steel drum band for the ceremony, so that makes it a bit easier, but I still have to pick what song(s) I want them to play... Songs for reception are pretty easy, just pick my favs from my Ipod playlist!

We have 26 guests and we'll be married on the beach :) How bout you?

  9. hahaha Bonnie... way to trash a silk Prada dress for your e-shoot. classic wink.gif I spent hours cleaning my favourite Jimmy Choos that got covered in mud from mine.

I am thinking of restart my hot yoga routine after the new year (due to the lack of motivation, I postpone it til new year...heehee) to tone up a bit...and hire a dancing instructor...so I can have a perfect first dance with my FI.

As for the taffeta, people can add extra $$$ to make their dress with silk taffeta, it is very light, soft fabric with a subtle shine.  However, it isn't suitable for TTD.  I did my TTD style engagement pics in a runway silk chiffon Prada dress, and errr...I totally wrote off the dress after the session.

Hello. You are getting married on my son's birthday! I just had the same experience you did. I got engaged in August, and my younger sister just got engaged a couple days ago. She hasn't made any plans yet, so I don't know if they are going to get married before me or not. I had the same first thought that you did, "I wish they would have waited until I was married so they didn't steal my thunder". Then I thought about it some more and figured her fiance probably had this planned before we got engaged. It takes some time to save up for a ring and pick one out. I am going to pick out all the positives and ignore my first selfish thoughts. They have been together the same amount of time as me and my fiance, it is time for them too. I want her to feel that I am 100% happy for her, because I am and she deserves it. Don't you hate selfish thoughts...no matter how fleeting??

Hi jean! Congrats on your engagement!! Sounds like you situation is very similar to mine! My best advice is to be totally honest with your sister. If she wants to do anything that makes you uncomfortable, just say so. It's not selfish, every girl deserves to have her time in the spotlight and you will both really enjoy it if you do it the right way... Allowing plenty of time between weddings. It may suck for her having to wait a couple a years, but she will realize its better that way in the end.

Best of luck to both of you and let us know how it goes!!
