  1. Thanks ladies for the newer suggestions. I’m going to check into them. Christine, I do appreciate your post…thanks.
  2. Thanks for the suggestions ladies. I’m gonna look into them. I’m seeing like 40-something views to this thread and only 2 folks offered suggestions? WOOOOOOW…. *feelings a bit hurt, moving on to other wedding sight*
  3. Hello ladies, I am a MOH in a Vegas wedding next June so I am happy that I have plenty of time but I don’t want to wait until the last minute for my planning. The bridal party and the majority of guests will be staying at the Las Vegas Hilton on 3000 Paradise Road. I am in need of some suggestions for a nice location to host the bridal shower that is close to the hotel. Something that is moderately priced because I will be hosting this event solo. Websites are welcome so that I can check out the facilities. Anything you all suggest is greatly appreciated!
  4. Thanks so much Josie!! In two more days my hubby and I will be celebrating 4 years or marriage. WOW!! There have been times I didn’t think we’d make it thru the first year! *lol* It’s been pretty great, even in the though times. I’m just really excited to see what he has planned for me. I’ve been a shopping maniac for him thus far and we have picked out where we’re gonna eat but he ALWAYS surprises me on our anni so we’ll see what he does this year. I know the feeling about being totally fed up with the weight; once THAT moment happens, it’s like your whole perspective changes and you really get down to business with your weight loss goals. I wish you the very best with that; keep me posted with your progress. I’m doing awesome on my end! I picked out my MOH dress, here’s a pic of me at the dress trial but the dress for the wedding will be in canary. I really LOVE this dress! I’m ordering it a size smaller too. I also ordered my MOH tank today. I love these things!! I’m a “words on the shirt†kinda gal so this was totally perfect AND the sucker was on sale!!!! Of course mine will say MATRON OF HONOR…
  5. Josie** thanks so much. I had an awesome day. Good luck with your meal plans, it’s a great way to make sure that you stay on track! CrystalM** Congrats on losing that pound! It was insanely hot and humid last week, thank goodness for the cool down this week. I hope you are able to find a way to make it work with the complex gym. Do you have a good MP3 player? If not, it’s a great investment and it really helps you focus and tune out annoyances. ************************************************** **************** I’m back in action!! Last night I was able to run. I haven’t been able to run about 4 days and it was killing me! I only ran 2.5 miles instead of my normal 3 miles. Time was NOT on my side but I did what I could with the time that I had and I’m happy about that! I am proudly wearing my “skinny†Capri jeans today and I feel so sassy! My eating has been much better too. I’m really trying to be better about consistency. My biggest problem is that I don’t eat enough most days. Go figure…lol I’m going to “start looking†at dresses for the wedding but I’m not going to try anything on right now. My body has a tendency to drop weight really easily and I DO NOT want to commit to a dress and then have to pay a grip in alteration fees because of it. I’m excited to find a dress but I’ll just window shop for the time being. I hope everyone else is doing well. BTW…It will be my 4th wedding anni on the 16th of this month!
  6. Crystal~ Oh nooooo hun!! I hope you are bouncing back from all the bad eating with some good old fashioned hard work outs and cleaner eating. There will always be bad eating times, you just have to find a way to balance it out and recover so that the bad eating times are few and far in between. **HUGZ** Josie~total drag about having to add the fabric to the dress. Hopefully it won’t be too costly for the process. In the mean time, just take stock in knowing that you have plenty of time to slim down for your own wedding but you gotta put in the work now my friend. You can do it…just dig a bit deeper and don’t give up fighting the good fight! **smile** ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yesterday was my birthday and it was an awesome day! I relaxed and was pampered by my family and friends; I sure needed it too! I was a complete slug for the past 3 days and did not a stitch of exercise but I paid for it this morning because my body woke itself up at 3:59 am and would NOT let me fall back asleep! I had NO CHOICE but to get up and get in that basement for some work on this body of mine! It was kind of creepy but I felt so amazing afterwards and now I’m back on plan. This is me this morning …I’m 39 and feeling pretty foxy- the world is NOT ready for me to turn 40! Here’s my new tatt…
  7. Josie~ I’m sorry to hear about the weekend of bad eating. C’mon gurlie, lets pull it together and really focus on eating right, even under pressure. It’s awesome that you’re exercising so well but the thing is, you’re probably just burning off all the bad stuff you’re eating when you really want to burn off the extra that you are trying to lose. Keep me posted. You can do this. Have you had any more fittings for your MOH dress? How is it fitting now? ~~~~~~~~~@@@@@@@@@@@@~~~~~~~~~~~~~~@@@@@@@@@@@ This heat is really trying to suck the life outta me but I shall NOT give up! I’m so excited because I got a new tattoo yesterday. My hubby surprised me with it last night; well he took me to the shop and all I had to do was sit down. *LOL* I was up this morning at 4:30am and got in a 2mile walk on my treddie. The whole time I wanted to go back to bed but I just kept on pressing toward the mark. I plan to run my 3 miles this evening as well. I can really tell a difference in my butt and legs; this running is whipping my body into some kind of shape!
  8. I can't see your ring Shannon. Ladies here is Shan13's beautiful ring! I'm one of her MOH's and I'm so happy fo her!!
  9. My weekend was jam packed with exercise thank goodness. Friday was a rest day for me. I just was NOT in the mood to go anywhere near my basement for ANY form of exercise. *LOL* Saturday I turned things around and took care of business. I ran 3.5 miles! That’s a half mile more than I am used to running and it was not fun but I pushed myself a bit and I did it like a trooper. I even ran a little faster too. I walked 1.5 miles and finished my cardio with 20 minutes on my elli machine. I finished the session with 100 crunches. Total calories burned from my cardio was 1007 This morning I was up at 4:30 and I hammered out 45 strong minutes on my elli machine. 667 calories burned! I feel really good, a sweat A LOT and I am really trying to stay focused this week on getting in more AM workouts. My eating has been really good. I’m aiming for it to be superb this week!
  10. Okay so yesterday evening was super busy for me so there was no workout. Not only that, I needed a rest day We got in later than what I expected so my AM workout was cut short because I slept in a bit later to get more sleep. I did manage to squeeze in 21 minutes of walking on my treddie and 15 minutes on my elli machine. Between the two, I racked up a mile and burned up 316.8 calories. Not bad for such a short workout. I love my AM workouts because they really set my day in a more energized motion. Today I’m really amping up my veggie intake. My new client told a few people and now I have two more people who want to work with me next week…and the initial client also signed up for 6 more weeks of training! Woo-hoo!! All of this new business is motivating me to be in the very best physical shape possible! I'm my own best advertisement My eating just keeps getting better everyday. I am really taking my time to lose this weight and it's coming off nicely. I might take a peek at the scale tomorrow morning but I'm not sure. I hate scales personally. I do know my clothes are really getting baggy so I'm super duper pumped about that. I'm thinking that I will start looking for MOH dresses in the fall and make my final decision by the new year. the bride-to-be is really being cool about my dress in that, she's letting "ME" pick it. I've also got to book our photograper in Vegas because next year will be 5 years of marriage and I want anniversary pics by the same guy who took our wedding pics when we were married (in Vegas). He still has our wedding pics up on his website too. I just think that is way cool
  11. Last night I popped in a really good movie and knocked out 5 miles on my treddie. I ran the first 3 and walked the other 2. I was so NOT in the mood to exercise at all but I made a serious commitment to myself that I was gonna handle my biznazz with this weight loss and NOT be lazy this time so I manned up and did what I had to do. I can tell that my legs are getting stronger because my hammies aren't burning like they used to. I blew thru that 3 miles like it was nothing! I guess I'll start adding on more distance next month. My eating has been great too. I've been eating more veggies and less meat and I also started drinking distilled water. I had some tap water and it was like...yuuuuuuck! On another note, my shipment came from Vicky's Secret yesterday The only downfall to this weight loss is that my boobies have gone away. I've never really been a big busted woman but when I was heavier I wore a 38C and now I'm comfortable in a 34B
  12. I ran another 3 miles last night and it felt incredible! eating was good, I have no complaints or cheats to report. I tried on a smaller skirt this morning. A few months ago I couldn't get the darn thing past my thighs but this morning I had it up and zipped up. It was tight as all get out don't get me wrong but that sucker was "UP AND OVER MY HIPS!" I'm gonna keep on shrinking till I get in that sucker! I hope everyone else is well.

Having a home gym is awesome I cannot lie Our basement is chock full of exercise machines, weights, and other "gym like" stuff. Now my hubby wants to put mirrors on the walls wich I am totally up for! I do miss being a gym rat; there is just something about "going to" the gym that makes me feel like I have really accomplished something ya know? *LOL* Enjoy that YMCA membership hun, those 10lbs are ready to come off, burn some fat and clean up that diet cause I'm rooting for ya!

I went to the tailor on saturday and she said if I lose 10 pounds I won't need the dress altered at all (its a size 10) and I'll save $40. She's giving me another 2 weeks since the wedding for my BF is July 11. I'm not doing anything crazy, just trying to be consistent. On a random side note - I hate Ballys! Even though its my own fault for signing the contract before reading it, we bought a house over 15 miles from ballys and they wont let us cancel our membership, they're asking 850 dollars! I know FI & I won't drive 30 minutes (15 miles with traffic!) everyday, so we're joining the YMCA tonight (1 mile from our place) and will be paying double gym memberships until October 2010! ahhhhh! I’m not a fan of Bally’s gym either. The prices are insane and the place is a total meat market in my opinion. That’s why we have a ton of stuff at home, so I don’t even have to be bothered with stupid gym memberships. They’re all a big scam to me. I refuse to sign a contract with anybody anymore because they are a beast to get out of if your circumstances change, and then they jack up your credit. Great job on your 2 miles a day. Get that eating under control and you’ll nail that 10lbs in no time flat! Keep me posted on how you’re doing. :-)
  15. *Friday I end up running 3 miles non-stop! I was so happy! *Saturday I ran another 6.16 miles. My hammies were on fire! *Sunday I rested so as not to completely kill myself. *LOL* Hubby and I had a date night and went to see Star Trek- awesome movie!!! I have a new client tonight woo-hoo! I will run another 3 miles tho. TOM has me feeling super evil so I refuse to weigh until the end of the week.

The only good thing about it was yesterday I was so disappointed in myself (also realizing not only am I MOH in 1 month and my dress DOES NOT FIT...but my wedding is coming up soon too and I wanted to lose 30 lbs). I have no more time to waste!!! I freaked out and pushed myself to my absolute max yesterday and did 5 miles straight on the eliptical. I burned over 400 calories. I was proud of pushing myself that hard, but NEED to get my eating on track....its so embarassing that I can't control it! WOW!! 5 miles is awesome on the elli machine but if this is not something that your body is accustomed to on a regular basis, you run a hug risk of injury or extreme fatigue. No time to waste is an excellent incentive but it’s a also dangerous because you don’t want to go to extreme measures and end up hurt. I month is enough time to drop a decent amount of weight with out killing yourself if you really focus and stay consistent. It’s about making choices. Nothing in this world can be worth not being able to look good in both the MOH dress as well as your own dress. Get your focus, put on your game face and let’s see you lose this weight.
  17. Josie, how was the shin-dig last weekend? I hope you didn’t do too much damage but even if you did just make sure to get back on track this week for sure. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I’m in PMS he**. I have been craving chocolate like nobody’s business, however, I have been on track with my exercise. I can’t even lie, I had a caramel twix already this morning! *LOL* I was so darn crabby I had to just give into the craving or someone might have been in danger of getting their head bit off.
  18. I met my hubby on afronetwireless.com. I was a busy single parent who wanted to meet someone but the club scene was just not me. My hubby was a truck driver at the time. We met in August of 2004, met for the first time in October 2004. Were engaged Christmas Eve 2004 and married July 16, 2005. He lived in a city that was about an hour away and he relocated to be with me and my kids. My youngest was 9monhts at the time and I swear those two fell in love with each other before I did. My baby is now 5 and we are in the process of my hubby adopting him. (how cool is that!) I had a lot of people who were really negative about how we met and it kind of hurt my feelings but the funny thing is, those same people are still single and miserably dating. I turned my aunt on to the site and she is now married. I also got my close friend into on-line dating and she is having a blast meeting some really nice guys. Who ever came up with the idea about on-line dating has done the world a HUGE favor. I now know tons of people who have met the loves of their lives on-line.
  19. Okay so my nightmare is over! I went to the doctor Wednesday and he didn’t find a hernia and I don’t need anymore surgery. I just have to take it easy to allow my body to continue to heal and sloooowly ease back into things. I can TOTALLY do that! I have been so active it’s shocking and this morning I got up at 4:30 and hit my treadmill for 45 minutes of walking! I’m so pumped!! I’ve started juicing again, Last summer I was juicing everything and felt so good. I’m proudly sporting my Aeropostale’ shirt *SIZE M* and it’s not even tight! Woo-Hoo for small victories eh??
  20. Crystal~ When I got married I was dying in all of the layers of clothes I had to wear to try to camouflage the rolls of fat. I mean this in the most “not attracted to women way†but there was some serious sexy shapes going on and I wanted to be one of them! I felt totally beautiful on my wedding day but we as woman all have a certain weight and body that we feel amazing in and I’m trying to get back to mine. Josie~This thread is really a huge help to me so ladies please keep posting so we can motivate each other, My hubby never complained but after I lost the weight I asked him if he wanted me to lose weight and before I could completely get the question out he blurted “YES!†He said he has always been attracted to me but loves the newer me much better. Plus he is a huge wrestling fan and them darn wrestling Divas get too much of his attention. *LOL* You just keep working at that 135, you’re gonna get there in no time flat!
  21. It doesn’t take long to pack on the baby weight but it’s he** on wheels to get it off! I feel the same way. Once I lose he rest of this weight I’m so gonna be more scantily clad. *LOL* I mean, even now, I dress way more sexy than I did a few years back so I KNOW I’m gonna be dangerous when I get in my size 6! It’s really gonna be serious when we get to smoking hot Vegas! I plan to wear mostly bikini tops and halters.

I wanna be able to prance around in a 2 piece on the beach in St. Thomas and feel confident doing it! Okay so you KNOW how crazy the store is here in the Mitten. *LOL* I didn't go inside there for almost 6months after it opened because of the crowds and it's STILL like that most of the time even now. The store does have some really nice things though. I have always been a skinny chick and then the babies started coming. I gained the most weight with the middle child. 60+ pounds to be exact. I lost about 30 after he was born and then tried to make peace with the post baby weight but secretly I was miserable and super self conscious. I was terrified to wear half the stuff I got at my shower. *LOL* After the baby girl was born in 2006 and I was in 18’s that were cutting off my circulation (because it should have been a size 20) I decided I had to do something. Hubby had gained weight while I was preggo too and his arches were falling in his feet from his weight gain. I have never been confident enough to wear a two piece in my adult life so 40 is going to be my liberating year to do just that! I’m so excited! I look marvelous in a 7/8 but I want to see if I can get into a size 6. 3 babies and wearing a size 6?? I will feel so empowered when I make that goal!
  24. I was a destination bride and we had our wedding in Vegas, smack in the middle of the summer. I don't have "good hair" and although I thought I knew it was going to be hot, nothing could have prepared me for the 114 temps on our wedding day. I am soooooooooooooo glad that I thought ahead and brought along a wig for the big day. The strongest perm or hot comb press in the world would not have been able to combat that dry heat. Yep...I sure did have on a full cap wig and it worked out beautifully. I bought it at home and took it to Vegas with me. I had a few folks who suggested that I get braids but I wanted long flowing soft curls. I am already a frequent wig wearer so this was nothing out of the ordinary for me. It's a great option for anyone tossing around the idea. I'm going to post a few pics so you can see how natural it looked. I had a lot of people asking how I was able to keep such a pretty hairstyle in the midst of all that heat. *LOL* I wore this wig to Vegas *getting ready* this was the wedding hair I'm trying to tell yall we were sweating bullets in this pose!

I need to do it for my health if nothing else. This is the most support I'm going to get! LOL ohhhhh yeah! We have IKEA stores here and they are ALWAYS busy so I can just imagine what the returns dept must have been like for you. The energy is so awesome. I work in collections so you KNOW I need all of the "stay calm" vibes I can get. My hubby is happy I am losing. He was happy with me when I was bigger but he likes the smaller me better *his words* I am doing this for my health, and sanity. I have been carrying around baby weight from each baby for too long now. My oldest is 15...geez! I'm ready to have a waistline again; and keep it because I'm done having babies. (smile) Not only that but I feel more confident in the sexy stuff we got from our wedding and anniversaries over the years. It's a self esteem thing for me.
