  1. Okay, so I did get an answer from Diana, but it wasn't exactly clear. She said we could eat in a restaurant and do the reception on the beach or by the pool and then sent me a price list of extras. So I am still waiting for her to get back to me to clarify, but it looks like you choose what you want a la carte style...? Open bar is $15 US per person per hour for domestic and $25 for international. Ridiculous. Oh, and the private beach dinner just jumped up to $85 a head. This may have been the icing on the cake for us, we are starting to look at other venues for the reception, and possibly other hotels to stay at, because it is just going to be too expensive for us to get married here. Too bad because it looks like such and incredible resort! They do offer something called a Gala Dinner. If you send me your email I can email the extras list to you. Good luck!! Llama
  2. I just saw that episode too! Didn't it look awesome! I actually have the same question as you and I have asked Diana, the wedding planner at the resort. I am waiting for her to get back to me, so when she does, I'll let you know Llama

Thank you sooooo much!!! Hi! I can't help you out with photos butone TA did tell me that the BB is built on a mangrove so the ocean tends to be murky. I've also heard mosquitos can be a problem here. I was oddly enough debating btwn the 2 and these 2 tidbits led me to chose the GSP. Hope this helps! Llama
  4. I love these! They are so cute! I was thinking of sending postcards as my invite...where did you say you ordered them...? VistaPrint? Is this a store, online? Thanks, Llama
  5. Hi ladies, So I have just spent hours reading through the whole thread and noticed that several of you on here have been married at the GSP and are willing to email wedding photographs! If anyone of you is reading this, would you mind sending me some! It is such a gorgeous resort, but I am having a hard time envisioning my wedding day...I'm hoping some of your pics might help! My email is [email protected] Thanks so much! Llama

HELP anyone have any sugestions? TarynLynn, I am pretty new to all of this, so I am not sure but here is an idea as to why this may be happening. I have read somewhere, either in one of the threads or on a hotel website that some resorts won't book the wedding until closer to the date (6-9 months). Possibly they arent' taking reservations yet, or don't have the authority to charge your card yet...? Hope this helps! Also, who is your contact at the resort. I have Diana's email and she has been great so far... Llama

When I started getting quotes back I would forward the lowest quote out to the other agents asking them to beat it, and so and so forth...In the end, we ended up getting upgraded to Junior Deluxe suites and free first class upgrades for my fiance and I for $1652.25 all taxes and fees included ($1350 before taxes) departing out of Vancouver. Hope this helps! It sure does! What a great idea! I've also been told we should wait a few months to book because the wedding is still nine months away. If you don't mind me asking, how many guests do you have going and what package did you chose? Llama

The wedding packages for 2009 are around $1500 to $2000 USD depending on what you are looking for. Let me know if you want me to send you more info. Wow! SO close now! You must be so excited!! I would love for you to send me the packages, and also if you have time when you get back, would love to see your pics, here about the wedding, which package you chose etc!! And awesome price! I looked on itravel right after you replied. The sunset side seems to be way more reasonable than the riviera side...do you have any idea why?

I highly recommend her Hi bcbride, The quotes we've been getting have been cllose to $2000, just under with taxes. We were hoping to come in closer to $1500 than $2000 just to keep it more affordable for everyone. Thank you for offering your travel agent, however we are on the mainland, in Maple Ridge and would probably prefer to have our agent here. How far into the planning have you gotten?! How are you finding the wedding coordinator?
  10. Jennie and Dave, Wow, those numbers are a lot more reasonable than we've been getting! Have you decided on this hotel for sure? If so, how is working with the coordinator? Thanks, Llama
  11. Hi Sheri, Not sure if this changes your mind, but I have been told the BB is built on a mangrove and the water is murky.
  12. Hi! I am brand new to this site and this is one of two hotels I am considering for my wedding in January 2010. Can any Canadian brides who are booked here give me suggestions for good travel agents in the Vancouver area? All of our quotes have so far been too high! Thanks!
  13. Hi, I am new to the site and also considering this hotel for my wedding in January 2010. Are there any Canadian brides out there who held there wedding here who can recommend a good travel agent? All the quotes we have had back so far have been way too high!
