ladies, i need some advice from past or future brides.... Will you be cutting the cake at the end of the night at your reception or right after dinner? I wonder if the cake is going to be sitting out during the entire reception and what if it melts? can others tell me what they are doing? if anyone has a reception timeline, that would be awesome if you could share. Thanks! Adriana

With you moving your reception to the Kool Beach Club, does that mean you need to find all your own vendors such as caterers, cake person, etc... or does Kool Beach CLub provide that? I think that place looks awesome, and there was a point that i thought to myself, darn it, i should have done it at the Kool Beach CLub. congrats you moved it to that place, its super cool! Out of curosity, do they charge you a rental fee for using their space? and till what time can you have your reception until at night? Do you have contact information for them or a website? =) Thanks!

yes please, if anyone finds an confirmed answer about the room upgrade in the luxory package, please let us know. The luxory package says you supposdely get: Complimentary upgrade of room or suite (to the next level of suite category, subject to availability upon arrival) I would assume this is free too, and they would not charge us any extra! Thanks!

hey there! I booked ivan for my wedding, and it was Angie my WC who gave me his email address to contact. She nor did anyone tell me we had to go through the hotel. i am not too worried about this, for the past 11 months in reading these posts, its pretty certain that the people who work for the Royal cannot seem to get their facts straight or insynch! I guess one thing i am curious about - since Ivan is a preferred vendor, do you guys know if this means we have to pay the $100 outside vendor fee for him? has anyone told you this?

Jsmcan- i saw the pic of the hallway you are talking about for the ceremony if it rains. It looks pretty small and if i rememember correctly from our site visit on where this is located, it is a small hallway of an area. Are you worried? I know your having a big wedding too, can you imagine having like 75 people standing in that hallway, Pray it won't rain! lol =)

does anyone know where the ceremony would be held at The Royal if it was to rain, you know Plan B? I know the reception would be moved to one of the ballrooms but i never knew about the ceremony - does anyone have any photos they could send me of that location? Curious to see what it looks like: My email is [email protected] Thanks!

past and future brides - I was thinking of possibly having The Royal provide some sort of dessert tray, or cookie or tray or some type of goodies they can provide late night during the reception, after the meals.. say around 9 or 9:30pm... I feel like people might get hungry later at night or want more food - is anyone else thinking of doing this or even think it would be worth it? Past brides - were you guests just ready to party after the meal or do you think a cookie or brownie or goodie tray would have been good to do?

Hi Tracey, Thanks so much for your review. I wanted to ask you if you could please explain a bit more regarding the problems you are having with The Gran Porto. We have almost half of our guests staying at the gran. Did you have problems on the wedding day for them to be allowed on the property? what exactly was the problem? I was told by WC Michelle that guests at the Gran need to go to the lobby of Royal, tell them they are there for our wedding and give our names, and then should be able to walk to the Gazebo 30 min before the wedding is to start. Im so scared now all of them will have the problems you had.. any help you can offer would be great! Thanks!

Jesmcan - I saw pictures of La Tortuga Hotel & Spa restaurant and your absolutlely right, the ambiance is amazing! i want my rehearsal dinner there now! LOL. Is it expensive? did they quote you on a per head charge or have any information on pricing? Also, Is the restaurant already set up with the mixture of tables & lounge areas you were speaking of? or did you have to speak with managment to arrange this because all i saw were normal tables in the pictures on the website? Also, The Tapas you will be serving to keep it light, great idea!! is this something off the menu or did you also have to arrange with the management team? Thanks so much, you have been such a help for all of us! Adriana

Jesmcan - Do you have the address for the MAC in playa del carmen, or how did you know where it was and where to go to find the store (sorry my questions marks are not working lol) Do you think you will be getting your makeup done by them, and did their store look like a real mac store with good makeûp artists.. Thanks! Thanks! Adriana

Hi Lady Di, I went in august for a site visit and we too are having our reception at the beach area near Pelicanos. We were given that location because of the size of our wedding, about 60 people. I can honestly say im fine with that location. Yea there are people walking and its an open beach but our cocktail hour starts at 5:30pm (cermeony in gazebo at 5pm), most people begin to get out of the beach area and by dark time, its really almost empty. I think if we do have some "lookers" so be it. I won't be paying attention to them. I just wanted to give you my thoughts about that location because it is the biggest beach area... Adriana

Past and Future Brides: I am having a Symbolic Ceremony and want to have the Sand Ceremony incorporated within the ceremony. Does anyone know if the Officiant can do this for us and read the Sand ceremony wording that we give him? Or do we have to choose someone, like a guest to do this for us? I feel like I read somewhere in a past post that the officiant will only say your vows, but anything else "extra" you want done someone else has to do it and you have to wait for the vows to finish and the officiant to finish. but I could be wrong ( hopefully) Thanks! Adriana

Tracey, Omg, your pictures are soooo beautiful! Your wedding looked so lovely and you were a beautiful bride, congrats! makes me excited for my day in April! i had two questions please i was wondering if you could answer. 1) I loved your lit up dance floor- was that supplied by the resort or by chance your DJ? was your DJ Ivan Gomez? How man poeple do you think fit on that? 2) Lounge furniture and pillows. Who supplied this for you? the resort or an outside vendor? Did you people reallly actually use the lounge furniture or the pillows? Thanks so much! Adriana

Jesmcan- When you go on your site visit, can you find out one thing for me please? When we had our food tasting, the portions they were bringing out to us to taste were pretty small. I had asked the waiter if the portion he was bring to us was a sample size for us because of the tasting, or if it was the real size of what each guest would be recieving during the wedding. Well, i dont think he understood my question so i did not recieve a clear answer. I feel as though he had said the size is what each guest would recieve. Is there anyway you can find out about the portion size and confirm? Thanks so much! Adriana
